The Green Party in Denton whored themselves out to secure a vote...

The Green Party. A party for women. A party for equality. A party for the rights for gay and trans people.... They ran their campaign on the Gaza stance. To secure the vote of people who go against the majority of their principles.

I am disgusted that British Politics, which is already in the gutter, a party who should champion ethics and morals, has sunk this low.

Surly I cannot be the only one who thinks this way?

Okay Nigel.

Oh the grapes are so very sour...

This Labour Party member thinks you're talking total rubish.

SisterTeatime · 01/03/2026 18:39

The Greens aren’t for women.

Having said that, I certainly think you have a point. It is nuts - and disgraceful - that a by-election campaign has been deliberately geared to sectarian bloc voting.

Aren’t they? You can almost see the facial contortion.

BishyBarnyBee · 01/03/2026 18:41

There was no other party for those for whom Gaza has been the defining political issue. YABU.

Not sour at all. I am not a Green voter. Just disgusted with the tactics used.

So Gaza is the main issue for people living in the UK at the moment?

They won. The end

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/03/2026 18:45

Political Party goes all out to appeal to voters. And then wins.

YABU @Luckymum20.🤷‍♀️

Wingingit73 · 01/03/2026 18:45

Imagine. A party trying go appeal to people.

MyThreeWords · 01/03/2026 18:45

Wow, the extent to which this site is being used to express hostility to Muslim people is amazing and horrific. How is it that you can bring yourself to believe that support for Gaza is as problematic as you seem to be claiming?

Fucking horrible and terrifying.

UpAndDownAllTheTime · 01/03/2026 18:47

The Greens are just as cynical as every other party. They say all things to all people, then campaign for the local base.

Whitengold · 01/03/2026 18:48

Gaza was an important issue for a large number of the electorate in that election, but more than that, I think keeping Remorm out would appeal to a very large number of the same voters, don't you?!

NemesisInferior · 01/03/2026 18:50

Isn't it amazing how concerned reform are about democracy when they lose?

It's almost as if they are a bunch of opportunistic fannies with no actual fucking policies other than appealing to halfwits.

I think Farage will be astonished at how many voters prioritise keeping Reform out.

MyThreeWords · 01/03/2026 18:56

Surly [sic] I cannot be the only one who thinks this way?

Unfortunately not. There's plenty of racists and Islamophobes around these days.

Not disgusted with the fact you would lose your employment rights, rights to bodily autonomy, rights to maternity care, leave and job protections, rights not to be dismissed from
work/fired at will and have to pay private health insurance & if you are a woman, single and childless a tax to society for not having children. All these things that Reform would impose upon this country.

Well too bad - I applaud the fact that voters between them chose to disregard the Reform a Tory party. Anything quite literally to keep Reform
from power.

HopSpringsEternal · 01/03/2026 18:56

I live there. People voted to keep out racist fuckers and not Labour because of Burnham.

You mean Muslims. At least have the balls to say it.

Parsley4321 · 01/03/2026 19:00

@HopSpringsEternal ok I’ll bite. How did the majority of Muslims vote for a gay Jew and a woman ? Sounds completely incongruent no ? Trojan horse

The results have shattered the illusions of those thinking Reform would be inevitable.

Far left parties and far right parties always tear themselves apart.

Let me put it oh so simply for you: They voted to keep Reform out. It's called tactical voting. Reform are going to have a huge problem with it.

A lot of good reasons here to vote for this candidate. Who can blame them with this level of hope, passion and commitment from a woman who is an ordinary working class person.
