The Green Party. A party for women. A party for equality. A party for the rights for gay and trans people.... They ran their campaign on the Gaza stance. To secure the vote of people who go against the majority of their principles.

I am disgusted that British Politics, which is already in the gutter, a party who should champion ethics and morals, has sunk this low.

Surly I cannot be the only one who thinks this way?

It's all been rehashed a million times.The vavst, vast majority of halal meat is stunned. No kosher meat is stunned. If you care about animal welfare, perhaps that is where you should be looking?

And of course it's all much of a muchness, because if you are really all about protecting animals, you should be vegan.

They campaigned on a range of issues. Its fairly normal practice in an election to try to pursuade people to vote for your party.
They won. Get over it.

It's the Islamo-Left alliance that won it for the Greens. We're seeing the rise of sectarian politics, which is a worrying trend. The Greens have cultivated the Muslim vote, but they're not true allies. It will unravel as time goes on.

Failing free schools are not relevant to this. If you want to only listen to people with a squeaky clean history we can’t even listen to our current PM.

I’m not ‘putting my trust in him’, I’m reading his research and looking at his campaigning on the rape gangs etc and digesting it alongside everything else I’m reading from many different sources. Including straight from the sources of some of the Islamic MPs and their views and intentions.

Their leaflets printed in Urdu didn’t include some of their big promises like legalising drugs and prostitution etc.

Apparently some of the Muslims that voted for them are horrified.

How is a party that hates black and brown people and whose candidate in the by-election says UK-born people from minority ethnic backgrounds are not always British able to get on its high horse and start complaining about sectarian politics? if there is an alliance it is the ordinary British people rejecting divisive racism and the peddling of hate.

As I have clearly pointed out ALL NON STUN meat is a problem.

30 million animals are slaughtered while conscious each year.

3 million of those are for kosher meat.

27 million are for halal. This is a relatively small percentage of the total halal slaughter (approx 12%) but still a huge number.

And this repeated argument that if we are not vegan we can’t call for humane slaughter of animals according to EU law is nonsensical. The fact that animals are farmed and eaten doesn’t make it ok to choose a slaughter method deemed to cause more suffering.

Does any election leaflet include all of a party's policies?

I don't think it mattered a whole lot anyway. It was a vote to keep Reform out.

Surely is possible to be against all the killing in Gaza and against the inhumane killing of animals.

And for those who aren't, don't we all, in any election have to choose the issues that are most important to us and vote for the party that fits most closely. It's surely unusual to find you agree with all the policies of a single party.

OP, the present-day Green Party is deeply misogynist, absolutely wedded to transgenderist ideology. I’m a member, and can tell you that it’s not for women. Its agenda is a tick-list of currently fashionable woke causes, which exclude women’s rights.

Though I’m a feminist, I don’t expect the Green Party to campaign for women’s rights. But I do object to it campaigning against them.

As a lifelong environmentalist, I joined the Green Party to protect the environment. That’s what it was set up for. But it now comes low down the priority list.

Many long-serving members, committed to the environment, have left or been forced out. I can’t feel any pleasure in its election victory.

People can read the Green Party's stance on women's rights and gay rights etc. Some Muslims are women, some are gay.

Yes, it's a long way from the old days of Friends of the Earth.

Pity, as environmental issues are really important. But the Greens now are all about fashionable causes, and now that includes Gaza and open borders.

Whataboutery? Most people still believe that the Greens are the party of the environment. Comparing the Greens to Reform shows desperation.

It doesn't matter, the fact that it happened at all is the problem or perhaps you don't think women are entitled to their franchise.

The Green Party claim to be against animal cruelty but then turn a blind eye to the unnecessary suffering of millions of animals tho are killed with non stun slaughter.

They are now in a position where they can’t criticise Halal at all because they have made promises to gain the Muslim vote. Their deputy leader is quite a hardline Islamist, approving of the October 7th attacks in Israel and his wife wears full face coverings.

Being ‘pro Palestine’ or ‘pro Gaza’ isn’t just a protest against the killing of Palestinians, people supporting that are lending their vote to wider Islamic rule and the eradication of Jews. None of this is going to end well for us.
