After re-watching Bridgerton, am I wrong I thinking people aren’t having this kind of earth-shattering sexy time (I’m looking at you Duke of Hastings…) in real life?! Or have I just been missing out…

It's not an hour of constant plugging away. It's slow and varied and involves position changes etc. I get this a lot when I talk about the sex we have. I dunno. It's what we've always done and I've only had 1 other serious partner and we were similar. We get sort of caught up in it and time kind of disappears

It's definitely not a situation where either of us get bored.

I think its sort of a very exaggerated version of what it can occasionally be like in the very early stages of a relationship when you are about 25.... but with an added dose of sneaking around/hiding etc that makes it all a bit furtive and exciting.

I remember being that age and (now) DH and i having sex on the kitchen counter against the wall, I suppose it was a bit bridgertony in the sense of pushing stuff out of the way and cracking on 😂. But less furtive in that we lived together & had done for 2 years.

I dunno, my husband is very good at delaying while making sure I'm satisfied multiple times, I don't think it's a case of him not being up for it enough as if we're aware we're short of time we can 0-100 in 5 mins or so

I think sex can often be like that. Not everytime without fail, but regularly. I think they're showing sex between people who are completely in love and absorbed in each other, which might be the unrealistic part, but I do think when things are really good between you it's like that.

As for lengthy sex, I'm really surprised at those shocked at the idea. No one wants him banging away for more than a few minutes (I wouldn't have thought) but an hour or more in bed enjoying each other seems normal to me, when you have the time.

This is my experience too. Sometimes I have been quite tender the next day though! But at the time it's amazing and so intimate just concentrating on each other for all that time.

I've always had fantastic sex. I love it. I like spending time pleasuring my partner and being pleasured. I haven't seen this Brigerton sex but I'm back from a weekend with my partner where we had an hour's sex Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday evening and then again this morning.

But we don't live together and have only been together 18 months. But we are in our 50s, no dodgy hips or farting though. I do a lot of yoga, I think that flexibility definitely helps.

I'm post menopausal and can very much recommend topical estrogen cream if dryness is a problem. Not during sex, in preparation for. Also helps with bladder weakness.

I'm 43 and very perimenopausal, we do have some decent lube, I think it's called silk, if I'm having a dry phase. I do find if I stay hydrated, work out regularly and get plenty of protein in less dry, I do have PCOS though so I've been managing dodgy hormones forever.
