Made to feel uncomfortable

Scottishlassie10 · 20/02/2026 09:17

Now I’m all for people wearing what they want but I do think there is a time and a place. My husband was in the health club last night relaxing in the jacuzzi when a group of young women in their early 20s wearing bikinis that left little to the imagination (think thong bottoms and boobs barely covered) started parading around. They came into the jacuzzi which I know they’re entitled to do, however 2 sat next to him and 2 directly facing. It’s quite a big jacuzzi so they had no need to sit where they did. He was the only male in. He felt he had no option to leave as this made him feel quite uncomfortable. Now I may be unreasonable in my thinking but I do think if the shoe was on the other foot and a male was to strut around the poolside in a thong or a group of men where to sit in an empty jacuzzi in close proximity to a female complaints would be made.

Don’t be silly.

BudgetBuster · 20/02/2026 09:20

I think your husband needs to grow up... if he felt uncomfortable he could have left.

If they were sitting down, it's not like he could see their bare bum hanging out? Also, jacuzzis are generally small enough, where would he / you have like them to sit if not next to or across from him?

1000StrawberryLollies · 20/02/2026 09:22

What do you mean by 'parading around'? Sounds like a bit of internalised misogyny going on there. Were they actually doing anything wrong? Or were they just using the health club facilities, but wearing swimwear that was a bit more revealing than some swimwear? I am not a fan of the look of thong bikinis and tiny bikini tops, but tbh normal bikinis don't really leave much more to the imagination, do they?

SerenityScout · 20/02/2026 09:22

Honestly, it just sounds like they were wearing normal swimwear in a pool setting. If he felt uncomfortable, he could have left, that doesn’t mean they were doing anything wrong.

Jrisix · 20/02/2026 09:22

Nobody can make you feel anything. If your husband is uncomfortable around women in swimsuits that's on him!

BauhausOfEliott · 20/02/2026 09:24

Sounds more like your husband having a little fantasy to be honest.

ThePerfectWeekender · 20/02/2026 09:29

Your language is quite telling, 'parading around.'

He did leave. His point is and I think it’s a valid one, the showers are facing the jacuzzi and rather than have a quick shower before entering they stood there rubbing they’re boobs then turned round and did the same with their arse. He let that go but it was fairly obvious from what he says, they knew what they were doing. Then when they came into the jacuzzi where there’s plenty of room and sit in very close proximity is what made him feel uncomfortable.

So what you're really saying is.... you're husband chose to sit in the jacuzzi facing the showers and watched these girls?

I really don't think they are the problem here...

They weren’t wearing swimsuits. These were very skimpy bikinis more akin to the beach.

TomatoSandwiches · 20/02/2026 09:35

I think wearing a bikini of any sort in a spa place with a jacuzzi is exactly the right time and place tbh.

BringBackTheLight · 20/02/2026 09:35

Honestly, the bikini thing is up to them what they wear. But If I was sat alone in the hot tub at the gym and a group of men came and sat overly close to me when there was plenty room not to I'd feel uncomfortable too and intimidated.

Flukingflukes · 20/02/2026 09:36

I agree with you @Scottishlassie10 . Such skimpy outfits aren’t appropriate for that situation and if a man turned up in a thong, that would be inappropriate. So what’s the difference?

How would it be inappropriate for a man to wear thing style swimmers?

They are swimming costumes... where else are they going to wear them?

Rooroobear · 20/02/2026 09:36

This is such a goady thread! They stood there rubbing their boobs and bums?? All of them and then dared get in next to your husband! Omg, I’m sure they were all so attracted to your husband they had to rub themselves to get his attention and then when that didn’t work they got in with him. Seriously. Some women on here believe everything their husbands tell them. He loved every second I’m telling you.

skippy67 · 20/02/2026 09:36

Parading around. OK then.

OoooopsUpsideYourHead · 20/02/2026 09:37

Oh come on OP, are you really this bored? 🙄🙄

Your language is offensive to those young women 'parading around' 'rubbing their boobs and arse'

It's a human body, get over it. Your husband has eyes that move and is entirely responsible for what he does with them.

Never, they look ridiculous. What’s the point of them, other than showing off your bum cheeks to anyone around?

TimeForTeaAndG · 20/02/2026 09:39

"they stood there rubbing they’re boobs then turned round and did the same with their arse."

I'm calling bullshit. Or very selective way of describing the way you stand under a shower and rub the water over your body to get fully rinsed more quickly.

See also "parading". So confidently walking in and existing in the space, and being 20-somethings.

They were just wondering around the poolside. Of course they weren’t doing anything wrong, and yes they were using the facilities, but I do think those type of bikinis are more suited to the beach.

So you weren’t there OP?

if this was your husband’s version of events if sounds very weird.

and why feel the need to tell you?

unless he has been caught perving over women in the showers and is getting his story in first?…
