Despite his villainous behaviour, anyone feel a teeny bit sorry for Andrew?

Before I get totally flamed, I despise his attitude, and the things he appears to have done - particularly the subsequent lying and apparent determination to shield/ hide misdemeanours. However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall , plus thinking of him going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support - even though I initially felt he deserves every indignity and consequence - there’s still a teeny part of me that just can’t help feeling just a little bit sorry for him. If it’s true that he was taken to a brothel at age 11 , whilst it would in no way excuse abusing others , it means he has also been a victim of abuse. Additionally it seems the Queen and his entourage have never ever said no to him in his whole life- so to reach his 7th decade before any consequences hit makes me question how resilient he will be able to be. Obviously main sympathies are always rightly with any victims , but even the most hardened and perpetual criminals often retain family support, he seems to have nobody. ( albeit if his own making ) or am I just being too soft?!

i think anyone who has done the things he’s done and now has been caught would look broken - the sad thing is will he ever face charges for being a peadophile and being in sex trafficking
all of it is just so awful

imagien what he would have looked like if he had slept in a cell all night!!!

florence1234567 · 19/02/2026 23:51

Absolutely not.

suki1964 · 19/02/2026 23:52

Seriously? Not one Jot

Im two years older then him, I used to think he was Prince Charming as a young teen, he was so handsome back then, then during the Falklands he became a bit of a poster boy

But then it all went wrong, not having something to define him, his true colours showed

Everything that man has touched since has turned to dust

His sense of entitlement is just beyond the pale

I remember the mocking Edward got when he decided on a Royal its a knockout, and then his business ventures which were eye watering embarrassing and questionable to say the least, but him and Sophie learned and knuckled down

Whatever happened with Epstein and girls really isnt the point. Its the fact he and Fergie were relying and sucked up to Epstein , taking his money freely totally disgusts me

BTW, Im in no way saying that the women involved dont count. Im trying, very badly to say, even if Andrew had no clue or was implicit in the abuse of women , hes more so guilty for enabling the behaviour he knew Epstein was tried and imprissioned for

And Fergie? She is a disgusting excuse of a woman

my point and context was if you are expressing surprise at the support for andrew who some consider a criminal then george was also a criminal yet got support even considering his crimes, were omg etc

Absolutely!!

A specialist fine art van turned up at windsor today. That's very interesting I wonder if they have evidence of art fraud ?

KnittyNell · 19/02/2026 23:55

My dh served alongside him on HMS Illustrious during the Falklands war. My dh accidentally stepped on Andrew MB’s foot and A screamed like a baby and called my dh a “Fucking prick”
So proud of DH and wish he had stepped on his throat! 😁

Absolutely!!

Please see my previous response to why only an idiot would agree with this

Sensiblesal · 20/02/2026 00:00

When he did that newsnight interview he should have told the truth. If he was so innocent then the right thing for him to do would have been to aid the FBI in securing convictions.

The fact his family have washed hands makes me think there must be some truths there.

so no, I don’t feel sorry for him. The victims need justice

Papster · 20/02/2026 00:01

This is about money.

Easier to trace and prove.

He’ll go to prison for this

Venicelagoon · 20/02/2026 00:01

No. No. Thrice No. Loved the earlier post referring to him as "formally known as Nonce".

They'd have to look at everything. Probably put a call into the WJRO and the other organisations that are still tracing and returning looted works of art to the descendants of people murdered in the 1940s, too.

I agree Op nothing as yet has been proven, so maybe he was a young player at one point beside Virginia who (killed herself over losing custody of her kids and not allowed to see them) was 17 at the time; so no laws broken. She also previously boasted about sleeping with a British prince 🤔 and again nothing has been proven he’s gave away British secrets.

Seems like a witch hunt after British men even though beside Virginia mentioning Andrew nothing else has been said by others except that he stayed in contact with JE but that’s not a crime is it? Also Virginia never brought a criminal case against Andrew only a civil case 🫤 rumours of such & such paid but no definitive proof other than hearsay.

Whys everyone buying into this shit? Why are the yanks determined to bring down the British monarchy? Why so many redacted names/photos/statements? Why only British people being named? So many questions with zero answers.

I'm glad other people have done the heavy lifting, meaning I only need say what a jaw-droppingly stupid comment this is.

I can only assume you accidentally left out the word "moronic".

Unbelievable.

How someone can compare someone murdered by the Police to Andrew is fucking insane.

Scout2016 · 20/02/2026 00:05

Smilesinthesunshine · 19/02/2026 23:53

Absolutely!!

The outrage was because he was killed by the police. Do you think it's ok for the police to kill people if they have criminal records?

Fluffymop · 20/02/2026 00:07

There are rumours that Epstein removed the teeth of children, so they couldn’t bite while they’re abused. So no, fuck Andrew. Hope he rots.

Supersimkin7 · 20/02/2026 00:08

Andrew Mountbatten Scapegoat.

None of the politicians - who did have sensitive stuff to leak - has been arrested.

Whiffy.

Mummylovesmonkeys · 20/02/2026 00:08

'going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support' - know that for a fact? What about his security detail, his staff, (do you really think he cooks his own quails eggs and caviar and washes his own socks?), his sponging ex-wife (who despite the divorce has lived off him and his royal connections and with him for years)

He thought he was untouchable. He has been touched. This time not re the paedophilia, abuse of females and being a sexual predator. Hopefully that will come very VERY soon, taking him and the rest of the sick perverted barstewards with him.

Eenameenadeeka · 20/02/2026 00:10

Errr, no. Feel sorry for his victims and wish these horrible men were all held accountable a lot earlier.

Trafficked children, not prostitutes.

And he was always a dickhead annd not delightful aa evidenced by many many reports from people who actually had to work with him.

Shadeflower · 19/02/2026 22:00

I don't feel sorry for him, but I am troubled by the way it seems to be all about him and not about the arguably far more important people involved.

This is where I feel. Not having read any of today's news. There are probably far more influential American men who seem to be shielded. I would prefer for that stack to be toppled. I think AMW was probably always intended to be a public scapegoat. He was flattered so went along. Let's get the BIG players. There is seemingly no intention to go for them. Why not?

Scout2016 · 20/02/2026 00:15

The argument we should feel sympathy for Andrew because he is the only one who has had flak and been arrested (not even for sex offences) is just bizarre. Feel anger that more men aren't in the spotlight and under arrest, not pity for the only man who is just because he's the only one who is. That's nonsense.

TortoiseshellNell · 20/02/2026 00:18

I feel the man has been punished enough. He’s lost everything that counts - reputation, family, friends, purpose. He is a broken shell.

I know he did bad stuff but I see he is in a very dark place - and instinctively, I feel sorry for him - for his upbringing that made him arrogant and entitled, for his stupidity and total lack of judgement.

At the same time I absolutely recognise how much his victims have suffered. It’s a sad, sad situation.

justhowdoyouknow · 20/02/2026 00:18

He is not a broken man. He’s an angry man who has been pampered and protected his entire life.

So what if it is his birthday? Do you think the Police should not arrest criminals on their birthdays? (Although, I think the timing is to avoid a birthday message on Royal Social Media).

No family support? He should have thought about that before biting the hand that feeds him and ignoring all the PR advice to keep a low profile during the accusations of him being a pervert.
