To think Queen Elizabeth's legacy is going to be seriously harmed by this?

I mean I doubt he bounded into the palace shouting 'you'll never guess what I did last week'. He will massively have played down the extent of his friendship with Epstein and may even at times have lied about where he was when he was away. It seems his protection officers have some serious questions to answer around this. I doubt anyone in the RF had anything like the full picture. But QE stood by him and I can't see her coming out of this well.

I believe he is a Patsy , absolutely guilty but he is thick and of no use or influence so will take the heat off other very important and influential people .

First rule of misogyny: women are responsible for what men do.

FFS.

She helped cover it up and pay for it!

damsela · 25/02/2026 08:50

She was the Matriarch of a Mafia type family IMV, albeit scented with titles and deference instead of bullets and murders to stay top dog.

Cover up and secrecy is their biggest sin now. That will cost them dearly when the floodgates open. Hopefully Parliament will insist on a democracy knowing about the machinations of its Head of State at last.

I don't know how much the Queen knew , I'm very close to my family but only know what they choose to tell me about what they're doing. How many people live with their partners and have no idea that they are being cheated on?
But her paying VG off should have made her ask more questions.

I agree with you. I wonder whether QEII only saw what she wanted to see, and believed her son’s denials that he’d done anything wrong? In this, she’d hardly be unusual; some mothers really do have a blind spot where their precious sons are concerned.

It’s also possible that she was kept in the dark about a lot of it. AMW is quite clearly a consummate liar, like a lot of abusers. (My DM had no idea that my F was sexually abusing my DSis and me.)

However, her actions in paying that money to GF (whether £12m or not) appear to suggest that she didn’t really care whether AMW was guilty or not. She intended to protect him and the Monarchy regardless.

Yes it has very much tarnished her reputation and rightly so. And I think the Monarchy is fatally damaged IMO. I suspect it will be abolished eventually.

If it’s proven she knew it all then you’re right.

I suspect that she was fed a tiny portion of the truth and she believed it because she loved him and didn’t want to see how rotten he is. My experience of cheaters and liars is that they only admit to what you know and will change their story as more emerges.

I think that there will be more revelations about him and his ex.

The Queen wasn´t a mum like the rest of mums, who can be gaslighted into believing their sons are innocent. She had MI5 and MI6, perfectly capable of writing extensively juicy reports on his activities for her. She either didn´t read them or didn´t think it mattered. After all, uncle Dickie liked those young boys and her husband was shagging left right and centre with this aristocratic friends. So all normal. All men must have their toys.

I think this is correct. She didnt know because she didnt want to know. All any of them are bothered about is the survival of the Monarchy. If anything risks that then its beyond the pale. Anything else, as long as no one finds out, do what you like.

That isn’t the point. If he’s subject to the law for one crime, he’s equally subject to it for others. In any event Giuffre’s was a civil case. I thought much less of her when she allowed herself to be bought off.

Actually, I think she just couldn´t take it any more. Walk a few miles in her shoes, and tell us then.

Ukisgaslit · 25/02/2026 09:39

@blossomtoes

Shameful remark

Virginia Guiffre will go down in history as a brave individual who ( hopefully ) helped expose a decades long coverup and showed us us who the Windsors really are.

mbosnz · 25/02/2026 09:46

This is a part of her legacy - just as a part of all parents' legacies is how their kids turn out as a result of their upbringing. He was raised able to be comfortable in the belief that his wealth and position entitled him to do what he wanted to who he wanted, when he wanted, and where he wanted, and there would be no pushback, apparently even more so than the rest of the pack of leeches.

I'm sure she didn't intend this, and would be mortified by the consequences, but that doesn't change the outcome.

Do we know Philip had lots of affairs? Susan Barrantes sounds likely definitely, as do some others.

Be aware, Lownie's planned next biography may be Prince Philip, he has said. But he'd also said it would be very hard as so many documents are hidden away

There have been many rumours. The thing with the sealing of wills etc is that people automatically assume it's for the reasons Royal wills were sealed in the first place-to hide away gifts to lovers and illegitimate children.

You what now? The D of E is described on the official website as a full time working member of the RF. Well, someone's gotta do now Andy and Harry are off the scene. I'm guessing he just gets on with it. 🤷‍♀️

Sensible guy right? 💁‍♂️

I mean, she’s dead OP so I’d guess she no longer gives a fuck.
