To think Queen Elizabeth's legacy is going to be seriously harmed by this?

I mean I doubt he bounded into the palace shouting 'you'll never guess what I did last week'. He will massively have played down the extent of his friendship with Epstein and may even at times have lied about where he was when he was away. It seems his protection officers have some serious questions to answer around this. I doubt anyone in the RF had anything like the full picture. But QE stood by him and I can't see her coming out of this well.

VG was probably better taking the money getting a result against the Establishment would be akin to pissing in the wind.

Clearly not in light of subsequent events.

She didn’t personally authorise the payment. It came from the “royal family” which Charles was in control of by then.

I saw a confused old woman not understanding why Andrew was being excluded whenever there was a video of the family attending church or some ceremony. Her financial assets were being abused by her own children to try and cover up Andrew’s crimes. We all know Phillip had gone dotty before the millenium.

She didn't seem confused to me. And why do you say Philip went dotty? He always said rude stuff & age exacerbated that but I didn't notice cognitive decline particularly.

She’s making stuff up.

Jaffalemons · 24/02/2026 08:41

Good. She was a very rich old lady who had delusions of grandeur fed by sycophants.

BlossomingSlowly · 24/02/2026 09:05

Problem is, I think people are slowly starting to realise that the whole monarchy is laughable. They’re finally questioning why we allow people to born into power and wealth when their blood is the same as ours. Why are we looking up to people who are the same as us? It’s alright saying they work hard, so does the rest of the country and they don’t get the same luxuries. If she did pay that £12 million to bail out her favourite boy Andy then her legacy should be harmed. How vile

He's being quizzed about passing sensitive info and possibly Govt .documents his sexual impropriety doest come into it unfortunately .

KimberleyClark · 24/02/2026 09:10

It’s always a risk with a royal family that one will turn out to be a seriously flawed individual. Prince Andrew was for long time the spare (Princess Anne unfortunately didn’t count).

That isn’t the point. If he’s subject to the law for one crime, he’s equally subject to it for others. In any event Giuffre’s was a civil case. I thought much less of her when she allowed herself to be bought off.

Did you really? Do you even think of how much she suffered and endured during the years of trying to bring AMW to account?

I've been wondering about Edward. He's certainly kept his distance from the RF.

You what now? The D of E is described on the official website as a full time working member of the RF. Well, someone's gotta do now Andy and Harry are off the scene. I'm guessing he just gets on with it. 🤷‍♀️

Yes I did which was why I expected her to hold out for justice and not accept money.

Yes

MidWayThruJanuary · 24/02/2026 15:41

@Blossomtoes
How did you expect her to ‘hold out for justice’?! With the entire weight of the legal system of the royal family against her?! The lies, the smears, the corruption- she stood no chance.

Boomer55 · 24/02/2026 16:29

According to her closest friend (lady Anson) she knew what he was like and just wouldn’t listen. She just closed the subject down.

And, apparently, she paid at least part of the money to VG.

She colluded - as simple as that.

SpottyPott · 24/02/2026 17:00

Yeah, I don’t believe she was a naive little old lady, she was the Queen of England for 70 years.

Mother defends son, more news at 12.

It’s not exactly a new phenomenon that mums protect/enable their badly behaving sons. The fact he was an entitled twat that seems to be universally disliked including by his own staff speaks volumes.

People don't mention that as part of her settlement she got him to apologise to her for for the frankly, slut shaming behaviour of AMW's lawyers. Presumably because that was all they had. I suspect if it had gone to trial, it would also have come out that he was using RPO's inappropriately, despite what the Met said.

It was a case in the US Federal Court where the UK legal system was irrelevant. The US legal system that had already successfully prosecuted Epstein and would have welcomed Andrew as the fall guy to take the heat off some American politicians. I can’t respect people whose principles are for sale.

Woman's fault again then...

It’s her fault she paid off the woman he raped when she was a child, yes.

Pumpkinmagic · 25/02/2026 08:02

Sparklybutold · 19/02/2026 19:02

Of course she knew, as did the rest of the RF. Queen Elizabeth would have been privy to everything including her son’s paedophilia and rapey tendencies. She would have permitted it because they of course are above everyone else.

Don’t be so absolutely ridiculous. She didn’t permit anything and I’m sure would be horrified at what has come out of she were still alive. His behaviour is inexcusable but he hasn’t been accused of rape or paedophilia. The late Queen Elizabeth wouldn’t have known what he was getting up to.

She helped him pay off his victims with £12 million. She absolutely knew.

There are certain people with certain views who no one wants the respect of. Yours is one of them. No-one (at least no one with good morals) cares about what you think.

I have the utmost respect for Virginia for speaking out. She had a truly awful childhood and was taken advantage of by many disgusting older men, and at least one woman. After everything she had been through, to have the strength to speak out and try to tell the world about these awful people, she was so brave. Virginia is a key person in bringing all of this to light and I’ll always respect her for that. I only wish she was here to see it.

PeopleLikeColdplayYouCantTrustPeopleJez · 25/02/2026 08:09

I think her legacy should be tarnished by this. The rest of the RF can fuck right off. I’ve never been a royalist but at this point chuck the lot of them in the tower as I believe that it wasn’t only the queen who was complicit. Not necessarily in the illegal sense but definitely distracting or attempting to distract everyone else from discussing it.

Let’s be clear, only Andrew is responsible for all of the terrible things Andrew did. It doesn’t take away from the fact that lady Victoria Pervy is defending him all over the place and insisting that if you’re not mentioned in the Epstein files at all you’re a “loser”. Which is quite the take.
