So what do we think will happen to Andrew, could he actually go to prison?

I just don’t believe it could happen. Also I’d like him to go to prison for the sex offences, that seems more important than his sharing confidential information problem.

Of course he won't.

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/02/2026 14:56

No. My hope is that how they fall goes like this...

Andy gives up information to stay out of prison.
He gives up a load of smaller players. Some of whom are under the UK purview.
They get arrested.
The UK gets any small fish, drivers, pilots, chefs, waiters and turns the screws.
They now have a lot of information.
They get bigger and bigger fish.
They work with the US democrats to make it intolerable to continue.
The whole shitty boiling of them either kill themselves or get arrested and thrown in prison.

The End.

Which sex offences?

Oh come on

I very much doubt it unless Charles locks him in the Tower. He’ll probably slither out of this like the little worm that he is.

Ablondiebutagoody · 19/02/2026 15:02

Nothing at all will happen to him. The whole thing is a charade to imply that nobody is above the law and that the Royal Family don't enable paedo traitors (when we all know that they do). King Charles, even though "deeply concerned", will continue to give him truck loads of cash and let him live at Sandringham.

No. Seriously, I'd like you to tell me what sex offences he has committed.

Being a sleazy middle aged git isn't a criminal activity.

It is when you're a sleazy middle aged git who abused trafficked women and underage girls.

HoppityBun · 19/02/2026 15:08

Whether he’s convicted or not, a trial would be excoriating

MerelyPlaying · 19/02/2026 15:08

They couldn’t keep him safe in prison. And whatever you think about him, the government/DoJ has a duty of care towards anyone in custody.

catownerofthenorth · 19/02/2026 15:11

Be mindful anything you say online could end up prejudicing proceedings if any take place. Will report this thread.

climbintheback · 19/02/2026 15:11

Can’t help comparing that pic of a smiling young woman with his arm around her to a 12 year old girl on a stinking mattress in Rotherham.

Exactly, this is what I said to a colleague earlier; he'd have to have his own private wing in the prison, with his own set of staff etc - so not even remotely cost effective/in the public's interest

Yes he's a disgusting human being, but he won't do prison time, unless it's a house-arrest style arrangement

I haven't heard that there's any evidence of him SA underage girls?
Is it a criminal offence to have sex with trafficked women? Is there evidence that he knew they were trafficked if do?

It's not a competition. Abuse is abuse and all of it is abhorrent.

@climbintheback
Do you think Virginia was there of her own free will?

Doesn't need to be according to the legislation.

likelysuspect · 19/02/2026 15:16

Certainly possible, but not very likely in my view.

Who were the last 10 people to be convicted of the same offence (bear in mind he has not been charged yet) and what was the type of scenario and what was their sentence?

Be interesting to compare.

IdaGlossop · 19/02/2026 15:23

My money's on house arrest, because it costs less than a private wing of a prison. The last Royal arrest was 350 years ago. The monarchy has cast Andrew adrift, paving the way yo him doing yime like any other citizen who betrays his country. The public will further lose confidence in the police and judicial system if he doesn't receive the same treatment as any other person guilty of misconduct in public office.

EveryKneeShallBow · 19/02/2026 15:24

He’ll disappear off to a foreign country with no extradition.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 19/02/2026 15:26

I sincerely hope that he will end up in prison. But I'm not entirely sure how it would work. Presumably, it wouldn't be safe to just bang him up in an ordinary prison alongside other prisoners, but it wouldn't be justice if he was given his own wing with better facilities.

I don't really care it they take him down for misconduct in a public office rather than sex offences. The latter would be much harder to prove, while the former could still result in a hefty sentence.

I would like to believe that it could happen. And to some extent, I think the rest of the monarchy might need it to happen as they will all be tainted if he is allowed to escape justice.

Of course, he might choose to end things himself before getting to the point of imprisonment.

I expect we will see Mandelson arrested next, and rightly so. He and Andrew both deserve to go down.

What I want to know is when there is going to be some accountability for the perpetrators in the US.

Yeah, totally agree. But with any luck and a fair wind this might, just might be the beginning of the end of that whole parasitical family.

Tinglytoes · 19/02/2026 15:29

I think he will go to prison.
The royal family will not object to that happening because they know if they do it will cost them dear.
Charles statement has made it clear Andrew is on his own ….. good.
I hope they throw away the key.
