So what do we think will happen to Andrew, could he actually go to prison?

I just don’t believe it could happen. Also I’d like him to go to prison for the sex offences, that seems more important than his sharing confidential information problem.

No he won’t go to prison but with any luck his daughters will realise that they need to be a lot more circumspect about who they get into business bed with since it now is clear that having a royal connection is no guarantee that they can mix with gun dealers, people traffickers ,paedophiles and despots like their parents are happy to. And that is in the present tense because I don’t doubt that both AMW and SF will continue to accept favours, money, accommodation, flights and holidays from any scum who offer. They are both grifters and it appears they have brought up their daughters to be the same.

It will also mean he will not be so keen in the future to wave and smile at journalists as though he really is just an honourable man who is unfortunately going through a bit of a rough patch but will come through in the end because, well, because he always has. He is sunk, and his big brother has locked up the life rafts and thrown away the key.

MauveLibrary · 19/02/2026 16:49

If he is convicted he can be jailed just like every other criminal. Same prison cell confinement as any other inmate. No need for a private wing. He can be banged up and treated in exactly the same way as all the others. He is an ordinary person and not entitled to any special treatment. The law must take its course and if he is charged he will probably be remanded in custody. Nobody is above the law.

I think people need to spend less time focusing on Andrew (not least because discussing this at this point could prejudice any trial if there is one), and more time asking why Andrew is being singled out here. What is it that people are using him to cover up?

There are three million pages in the Epstein files. And all the emphasis seems to be on Andrew. Why?

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Andrew is a sleaze. but IMO Andrew is by no means the main character here. And yet he seems to be being portrayed as such.

Who is this covering up and why?

And why are people on here lapping it all up in the way they are?

And why are people on here lapping it all up in the way they are?
It's playing on people's feelings about the monarchy being a drain/outdated etc etc.
He is abhorrent but I agree he's unlikely to be H (if I may use Line of Duty references).

I think he will probably take his own life. That’s awful but i think a possibility

I think that's why they took away his gun licence. I think it's very likely he will do something.

FasterMichelin · 19/02/2026 16:50

BMW6 · 19/02/2026 15:13

I haven't heard that there's any evidence of him SA underage girls?
Is it a criminal offence to have sex with trafficked women? Is there evidence that he knew they were trafficked if do?

This. They’d need proof he knew they were trafficked. I’d imagine in these rich circles there’s always a lot of young, beautiful women around through choice so to prove he knew would be difficult.

I don’t think he’ll go to prison, but I do hope this hurts him beyond repair reputationally and financially.

PandoraSocks · 19/02/2026 16:51

Elisirdamour · 19/02/2026 16:32

My understanding of it is that it is an offence to have sex with a trafficked woman now, but it was not an offence at the time Andrew is accused of having sex with Virginia Giuffre.
So, even if the fact they had sex can be proved it was not, in fact, against the law at that time.
I’m not defending him, by the way, merely trying to clarify the law.

Sadly, that is correct as the law only changed in 2010, I think? But who knows what else he has done that might come to light now.

Shadeflower · 19/02/2026 16:53

From the information currently available I don't think he's committed any sex offenses. Obviously he's behaved very badly, but I don't think there's anything illegal, that we know about? Id like to think k theres a legal process to pay for what's gone on but I don't know what basis that could be on.

Sharing market sensitive and national security information is huge. I don't know if it could ever come to court, but it should certainly be more than 5 min investigation, which has led me to wonder what bail arrangments might be. Presumably, with connections all over the world, nothing to keep him here, and significant means, he'd be a flight risk, so what might bail be set at and who might pay it?

MauveLibrary · 19/02/2026 16:54

CaptainMyCaptain · 19/02/2026 16:50

Agree....if he is bailed pending further investigations and charges then I would imagine he is a very significant risk to his own safety. I dont want that to happen. If he has committed a crime then I want him to face the consequences of his actions

MojoMoon · 19/02/2026 16:56

Misconduct in public office is quite a hard one to prove. It is "serious, wilful abuse and neglect" and it misconduct must be directly related to the the abuse of power.

If his behaviour in terms of giving information to Epstein can be implied by the defence to have been known by the civil service or the government that he did this, then it would potentially mean it would be hard to get a conviction.

He isn't very clever and so he is unlikely to have been hugely discreet about these things.

I suspect his defence will be "no one told me I couldn't and people knew I did and never said anything". It's the "I'm an idiot" defence but it does mean that it wasn't necessarily "wilful".

So my guess is there are few months of investigation, the CPS reckons the chances to get a conviction are low and so charges are dropped and he is effectively house imprisoned by Charles in Norfolk with no horse riding or trips out allowed.
Until Wills has him knocked off in an unfortunate accident when he becomes king

I really really hope he pulls the other predators down with him and they end up in prison. There has to be some justice for these children and women.

Failing that he needs a two up two down terrace and a minimum wage job to find out how hard life really is.

Hes a convenient fall guy

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 19/02/2026 16:58

I’m quite pleased that this is about his role in public office.
Sleazy behaviour that’s not unusual in men of his age and situation is not enough- and it’s relevant to him as a private citizen.

I am more interested in the ways he abused his public position, and in the security teams we provided that conspired to allow it. That is the public interest element most relevant to uk citizens, imo.

If we get evidence of child abuse or torture, then I hope they throw the book at him but I want all the others taken down too. I don’t want him used as a fig leaf or distraction. I want him done for indisputable offences, not the kind of thing he was all over the newspapers for with everyone’s full awareness. Having sex with ‘models’ from all around the world- many of whom would not at the time have considered themselves to be victims- is not the crime he should go down for.

typo!

Can’t help comparing that pic of a smiling young woman with his arm around her to a 12 year old girl on a stinking mattress in Rotherham.

The idea that it's somehow more ok to be raped if you're getting paid or it's happening in a nice house is a massive barrier to justice. It's part of the reason it took so long for Epstein to go to trial, part of the reason Michael Jackson managed to outlast his accusers and why Weinstein got away with what he did for so long.

Please. Stop.

That this comes from women towards other women horrendous. Being raped is horrible. Being trafficked is horrible. What Giuffre and the other girls went through is horrible. Have you seen how many of them are dead now? Suicide or drugs.

There shouldn't be a limit on compassion people. And just as someone can't consent to their own murder, there is no amount of money that makes it ok to rape someone.

@climbintheback
Do you think Virginia was there of her own free will?

Problem is Virginia is dead and can’t give evidence. Gishlaine Maxwell is on record as saying the day the photo was taken was the first (and I think only) time they met. That He’d popped into GM’s flat to see her and virginia was there and wanted a photo 🤷🏻‍♀️

possibly all bollocks but how do you prove it

MoiraPlunkett · 19/02/2026 17:00

His lawyers will argue him out of prison - they'll say his status as a member of the Royal Family, albeit a defrocked one, means he would be at too great a risk from other prisoners etc. The most he would get would be a suspended sentence.

likelysuspect · 19/02/2026 17:00

Whats he living on at the moment by the way, does he have an independent income?

Yes agree. Andrew is one of many and possibly he could sing like a canary...I dont see that he has anything left to lose so he might throw others under the bus

pestowithwalnuts · 19/02/2026 17:01

I hope he gets sent down

Shadeflower · 19/02/2026 17:02

Yes, I am starting to "worry" that AMW is a distraction from all the far more important people involved and by the time they've finished with him, they'll all be dead/infirm.

I also wonder what happened to all the networks? Rich powerful men haven't suddenly gone off sex with vulnerable young women. It seems very naive to think this has all gone away, rather than others have moved in to fill the space.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 19/02/2026 17:02

sashh · 19/02/2026 16:29

Sex with a trafficked woman is rape. Evidence? He apparently ordered from a catalogue. I know he is thick but does he think it is normal to order women?

Men order Thai brides, use dating agencies. It isn’t illegal.

As I understand it, she left and chose to return more than once.

Women in sex work have poor outcomes, but often also have adverse childhood experiences which makes it hard to distinguish what causes what.

Personally I don’t believe there is ‘sex work’, it’s all abuse. But that’s not the legal situation.

climbintheback · 19/02/2026 17:07

Nonsense - flying around in a private jet to sleep with an old bloke and then paid £15 million is slightly different than being drugged and raped in a filthy flat or back of a taxi by one after another at 12 years old then kicked out into the street pregnant - yes slightly different and still no justice and not given £15 million more like a burger!

The Rotherham girls went "willingly". That's what grooming is. At the time, they believed they'd been chosen for special treatment and benefits, albeit their benefits were vodka and trainers and VG's were more luxurious.

Thats exactly why until fairly recently teenaged girls were accused at "throwing themselves" at people like Jimmy Saville. They are groomed to believe they're getting what they want out of the situation.

I hope he tells the truth. I hope he and Sarah Ferguson shed the armour and tell the truth. They could be the ones that break the atmosphere of collusion. I hope they take that opportunity.

I doubt either of them could identify the truth if it was staring them in the face. They've told so many lies already, they're probably confused. More awfulness for their daughters, although I think they need banishing too.

ChrisMartinsKisskam · 19/02/2026 17:14

I think Andrew might eventually do an Epstein
and SF will relocate to the ME out of reach of the uk police

They are vile corrupt family who ( imo ) are just like benefit cheats , only it’s a much bigger long time scam for them

Londonrach1 · 19/02/2026 17:14

He won't...
