Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

Oh yeah…it’s just so gorgeous to be skinny!

I will say, it’s so much nicer if you can just be skinny by just being skinny. Much cheaper too!! Ha ha ha!

Is this smug enough to join in?

Can i join in please?

And isn't it so much fun if you can keep skinny by just running and cycling everyday? Costs nothing to just get off your arse. Sometimes i wonder how much longer i'll live, who wouldn't want that!

I hope i was smug enough.

They really do!’

Fat people look older.

How does that sound? Reasonable? Something we should be saying to other women?

Your lying by deception and lying to your friends and family, if you want to be on WLI, own it, don’t be a liar, no one likes a liar!

Saz12 · 13/02/2026 22:46

WLI should be for HEALTH, not vanity. That's what they're licensed for: being better for you than being overweight.

So what if "they" (aka women) look older if skinny (does that just mean 'not obese' or clinically underweight?)? Noone looks great in a coffin.

Sorry is everyone missing the bit where OP was 10 stone and is now 8.5 stone?! Unless she's 4'10" she was a perfectly normal weight for her height.

Have you suffered from eating disorders in the past, @op ?

I'm 5ft 2 and 10 stone is an overweight BMI for me! You don't have to be that short for 10 stone to not be a healthy weight

No but you have to be OBESE for a prescription. Not just overweight. BMI 30 at 10st =4ft 10.

StephensLass1977 · 13/02/2026 22:50

How are you managing to cheat the photo system? I was only taking Orlistat (The tablets) and have been stopped, even for maintenance, as you need to use the chemist's photo tool to take the pictures, and show your body from different angles. And that goes for each and every chemist.

You can't upload your own photos, you need to use their tool, so there's no way of lying or exaggerating at all. I don't know how you're doing it.

NewbieSM · 13/02/2026 22:51

I mean if you are 8.5 stone you clearly weren’t that overweight to begin with so, yes I do think you have “cheated” and lied to take the easy route, you admitted that yourself. Now your friend does sound jealous because she also wants to lose weight but has chosen the traditional route which actually requires effort and discipline so I can understand she feels aggrieved but she shouldn’t have berated you that was wrong. My advice to you is don’t crow too early, you may have to eventually come off the medication and may regain again and then you’ll look foolish.

Frenchfrychic · 13/02/2026 21:48

I actuality disagree with that, I think a matronly bust and big belly with double chins and a fat face is much more ageing, but then define skinny, of it’s underweight, then I think it also can be ageing, as overweight is. But a healthy weight, even at the low end of bmi is always much more youthful.

I'm in my 30s and look much older when I'm overweight! And younger when skinnier

Maybe it reverses in your 40s/50s...

Definitely. I have lost several stone with Mounjaro and I look a lot younger.
I had an absolutely HORRIBLE matronly bust before. Just massive. Size 22.

A heavy face is very ageing. I’m loving seeing my cheekbones again.

Rapidly losing subcutaneous fat in your face makes you look either older or ill. Why do you think people start pumping their faces with filler?

Some women seem to be conserned with these matters of appearance, maybe we should be honest about it. At this stage we're jabbing ourselves with largely untested drugs (at hugely inflated prices) to get 'thin', then getting some more dodgy jabs (by mire people on the make) to get 'plumped'. It's all ridiculous, and perhaps we should feel stupid about it.

We're happy enough to take the piss out of stupid stuff guys do. Skinny jeans, poser cars, comb-overs, etc.

What? She’s bought them privately..

lizzyBennet08 · 13/02/2026 23:05

Honestly what business is it of hers. I personally can't see that there is a big difference between two people of 12 stone using it. One starting at 12 stone and one person who has started at 16 stone but is now .12 stone .
One apparently risking their life and the other being totally fine .🤷🏻

Jellybean23 · 13/02/2026 23:10

She's annoyed because she probably thought you and she were a team in the weight loss battle together. She feels you went behind her back.

Anonanonanonagain · 13/02/2026 23:16

I do not understand why you are smug when you cheated to lose weight but each to their own. I am completely against this drug so I am not the target audience I guess for any discussion on it but being smug about something you cheated rather than completed as it were would bug me too.

maz99 · 13/02/2026 23:18

KimuraTan · 13/02/2026 21:46

This. How‘s your sarcopenia doing? Losing weight by jabs makes you lose lean mass as well as fat. Your friend sounds sensible and doesn’t want to be associated with a liar.

@Grammarnut ·
The doses are not set for a person's weight, but the guidance is a minimum of BMI 30.

Also, a lot of people on the jabs are:
teaching their body to adjust its food intake
losing weight the sensible way, at the rate of about a 1-2lbs a week
changing their eating habits

The medication doesn't make weight fall off you - it:
keeps you fuller for longer
slows digestion
improves insulin / blood sugar responses

These 3 aid weight loss, but don't cause it - people still need to eat healthier (reduced UPF and lower carb)... and ideally move more

@KimuraTan Any weight loss causes loss of lean muscle.
The amount of lean muscle that is lost depends on how fast the rate of weight loss is - which is why people on the jab are advised to eat a higher percentage of protein .

Viviennemary · 13/02/2026 23:25

You did what you had to do and have hurt nobody still the dangers of those injections are just coming to light now.

Hereforthecommentz · 13/02/2026 23:37

Yabvu if you only needed to lose 1.5 stone you could have done it properly just some excersize and cutting down. It really is nuts people are so bone idol they use an injection rather than go for a walk around the block when they don't have a lot to lose.
I understand people who have high bmi and need help with losing weight if they've struggled and tried everything but these people just taking it to lose a few pounds is nuts and very lazy. Your friend is losing weight the right way by changing her habits and not injecting god knows what in her body and spending loads of money. Rather than be jealous she should actually be proud of her achievement and cost savings.
