Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

Me thinks the op is a little liar in more ways than one, 😁wine and mumsnet don't mix op but props for lighting the touch paper and fucking off.
Most people who want to take a glp and can't get it legit don't bother with pissing about with pharmacies op, as I think you probably well know.

Littlemisscapable · 13/02/2026 23:43

OonaStubbs · 13/02/2026 23:02

People like the OP are why the NHS are in the sorry state it is.

What does this have to do with anything? Eventually this medication will be available to all. The benefits are really significant except to the food industry.

Anonanonanonagain · 13/02/2026 23:47

Viviennemary · 13/02/2026 23:25

You did what you had to do and have hurt nobody still the dangers of those injections are just coming to light now.

No, she took the easy way out. To do what she had to do it really would have been to move more and eat less. 1.5 stone the op said not 10 although I would be against this drug no matter what but 1.5 stone is a jokinginly small amount to 'lose' on this drug.

ShowMeTheSea · 13/02/2026 23:51

Hoppinggreen · 13/02/2026 21:07

lying to get prescription medication is bloody stupid
Maybe its that rather than your annoying smugness she doesn't like?

That was my thought too. I wouldn't care less whether you'd lost weight before me or whatever, but I'd think you're bloody stupid to lie to get medication, sounds a risky game to play with your health!

BerryTwister · 13/02/2026 23:57

YABU.
The problem is that if people abuse these drugs, the regulations will tighten up, and the drugs may even be taken of the market if they’re deemed too dangerous. Then the people who are genuinely obese won’t be able to get them.

OonaStubbs · 13/02/2026 23:59

People should just exercise more and eat more fruits and veggies if they want to lose weight. Far better than having to shoot up drugs every day.

MidWayThruJanuary · 13/02/2026 23:59

Are most people not lying to get them?

ImPamDoove · 14/02/2026 00:02

I know at least 5 friends that have done this. Who cares? They all needed to lose weight, they just weren’t obese.

so dramatic. 😂

people just don’t seem to like the fact there is a potential cure for obesity. It baffles me as to why.

whatifs1 · 14/02/2026 00:04

YANBU. Do what you like! It’s no one else’s business but yours. Could be worse could be using the grey market version. 👀

saraclara · 14/02/2026 00:05

Bruisername · 13/02/2026 21:54

I think it’s pretty obvious why she’s annoyed!

you both decided to lose weight and you didn’t tell her about the jabs. So she must have thought your will power was amazing and probably was beating herself up about why she couldn’t do it by dieting as you could

its like your friend getting a better time in the marathon and then finding they used an electric scooter halfway

That. Plus she discovered that her friend was a liar.

I'm amazed at the number of people cheering OP. She's done nothing to cheer about. She lied, and then she lost weight in an artificial way that involved no effort of her part. I mean, there's nothing wrong with losing weight that way but it's hardly something to congratulate anyone for, because it doesn't take any effort on their part.

It's not that, it's just not a substitute for eating healthily and getting good nutrition.

Please explain in detail how it is a cure

hoarahloux · 14/02/2026 00:10

You didn't need it and you lied to get it. You'll put the weight back on in a month once you stop taking it, so I do hope the wasted money was worth it.

She's annoyed because people like you contribute to the negative image of weight loss injections in general. Thankfully restrictions are more stringent now so I doubt this actually happened.

The cure is what the other poster said eating less and exercising it's not rocket science. Pharma companies are making an absolute fortune out of this too. There are a lot of side effects stomach issues and more will come out over time no doubt. It's really bad for children to see this too and think it's normal to inject yourself to stay a normal weight. It's all rather grim.

LunaTheCat · 14/02/2026 00:11

I am more irritated with the companies selling this stuff online, without proper checks, knowing that people will lie and distort to get medication.
I am more concerned with the long term results of this medication, the fact that most will regain weight ( and probably some more ) when they stop it and the rate, but still significant , risk of dying.
I also think that you are very foolish to obtain a prescription medication by deceit .

Brewtiful · 13/02/2026 21:04

Indeed. You sound like a crap friend.

Why? Because she lost weight and her friend hasn’t?

however 1.5 stone is a BIG lie!!!! I had to send photos of how I looked. I’m amazed they just wanted a photo of your scale….

ChattyCatty25 · 14/02/2026 00:20

YABU for feeling smug. It’s like feeling smug for losing weight via liposuction.

SouthernNights59 · 14/02/2026 00:21

LadyCrustybread · 13/02/2026 22:50

No but you have to be OBESE for a prescription. Not just overweight. BMI 30 at 10st =4ft 10.

Edited

It frankly amazes me how so many people don't seem to understand the difference between being overweight and being obese. Someone who is overweight can loose weight the normal way, wanting WLI to do it is just sheer laziness.

Heyhoherewego23 · 14/02/2026 00:30

If someone said to me I’ll give you £175 s month if you don’t eat shit! I’d agree! That’s why I don’t do WLI, it works, that’s ok, but let’s not pretend it’s self control, it’s not. You have no self control and the minute you come off it won’t change behaviour.

OonaStubbs · 14/02/2026 00:31

I am glad I managed to lose weight the old-fashioned way, without resorting to "chasing the dragon".

Watdidusay · 14/02/2026 00:31

I have friends doing this. Up to them imo

Slebs · 14/02/2026 00:40

Possiges · 13/02/2026 21:08

How did you make the scales heavier????

Hold a weight out of shot, it isn't difficult.

lovelyweatherforasleighride · 14/02/2026 00:42

Also, a lot of people on the jabs are:
teaching their body to adjust its food intake

It isn't teaching the body anything like that, it's just suppressing appetite, and creating a feeling of fullness by massively slowing digestion.

rainandshine38 · 14/02/2026 00:44

It will all come to no avail when you stop because the weight will go back on. I’m on Weg and I’m having to really try to adjust my exercise routines. So lying and making stuff up isn’t going to help long term really.
