Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

It’s your smuggery that’ll be annoying

Stupidity in deliberately falsifying information in order to be inappropriately prescribed medication that has a risk profile showing that it's not worth it - medically speaking - at a lower BMI, more like.

It's shite like that which results in medications being withdrawn and access removed to people who actually need it and meet the risk:benefit measure.

Frenchfrychic · 13/02/2026 21:18

meh, smug is better than judgey and jealousy. Reckon you’re seeing some of it on here too.

Spookyspaghetti · 13/02/2026 21:21

Jane143 · 13/02/2026 21:10

Maybe she would like to use it but can not afford it?

There are a lot of people just using it as a status symbol regardless of if they need just because it costs money.

South Park did a hilarious episode where Randy Marsh thought he was scoring a hot new drug but instead got caught up in Ozempic parties.

Not sure about that, but the op clearly isn’t one.

MaggieBsBoat · 13/02/2026 21:25

Good for you OP! I bet you look and feel gorgeous.

Grammarnut · 13/02/2026 21:26

But you haven't taught your body to adjust its food intake. And lying to get a prescription of something like mounjaro is dangerous. The doses are set for your weight, I think, and if you are less heavy than you said you may be taking too large a dose.
I hope you keep the weight off. But your friend is losing weight the sensible way, presumably at the rate of about a 1lb a week. That will lead to sustainable weight loss if you have done it by changing your eating habits.
You are a bit smug - I think that's what sticks in your friend's craw.

Economicsday · 13/02/2026 21:28

None of her business and she's no friend to be giving you a hard time on your medical choices.

Good riddance would be my view.

PickledElectricity · 13/02/2026 21:29

Sorry is everyone missing the bit where OP was 10 stone and is now 8.5 stone?! Unless she's 4'10" she was a perfectly normal weight for her height.

Have you suffered from eating disorders in the past, @op ?

rwalker · 13/02/2026 21:29

all MJ does is keep your fingers out the fridge
what’s your plan to maintain this when you come off it
trumps put massive levy on it the price has trebled

whilst you’ve got to result there’s medical guidelines for a reason on this to keep you safe it not clever deliberately going against them because you know best to get what you want

I agree with this.

Megifer · 13/02/2026 21:31

I cant be doing with people like your friend op. Why this is even bothering her i have no idea. What a weirdo she is.

mindutopia · 13/02/2026 21:32

You’ll almost certainly gain it all back soon, so the scales will be flipped then. You do you. It does look a bit shallow, but it is what it is.

HannahMarin · 13/02/2026 21:32

All the people who are saying it’s dangerous when you’re at a lower BMI, can you explain why?

When people who loose weight, on WLI, they continue to take it to maintain? So effectively are taking it but they are already ‘thin’ surely it’s the same principle?

anyway OP, I think your friend is probably a little jealous and has reacted like this because of that. You don’t owe anyone anything about your personal health including which medications you are taking.

PinkyFlamingo · 13/02/2026 21:33

Not sure what you are feeling smug about?

Catssuddenlyappear · 13/02/2026 21:34

Your friend sounds incredibly nosy, why was she rummaging in your fridge?

SummaLuvin · 13/02/2026 21:35

it doesn’t effect anyone else

disagree - (medical) interventions to comply with the intense beauty ideals/expectations on women puts incrementally more pressure on other women to also yield to them. not passing judgment on whether you are right or wrong to do what you did, but you are wrong to suggest that it only effects you.

I think the numbers of people getting hold of them at a lower weight than is approved with no ill effects shows that it's not actually idiotic to try if people really want to. It's a bit rich calling someone an idiot for taking what is really a low risk medication even if they don't meet the criteria. As for her being a liar - that's a loaded word!

Arlanymor · 13/02/2026 21:36

Lying to get prescribed medication is unbelievably stupid.

MammaBear1 · 13/02/2026 21:38

I’d be irritated with you as well. I’d hate to think my friend had put herself at risk to get prescription medication. I’d especially hate that my friend was deceitful.

MoiraPlunkett · 13/02/2026 21:38

Could the prescribers not tell from the photos of your body that you were not heavy enough to meet prescription guidelines? I get that it's easy enough to manipulate what your scales say, but if you were already in a healthy BMI, how did you manage to look big enough?

BrendaSmall · 13/02/2026 21:38

Possiges · 13/02/2026 21:08

How did you make the scales heavier????

som people are heavier at night than in the morning
also you could put heavy items in pockets

The idea being that as the medication carries risk it's only worth it if you're fat enough to have risk because of that. Formerly obese bodies don't behave the same as slim bodies even if we lose weight so we need to stay on the medication to stay slim.

Whatnottowear51 · 13/02/2026 21:40

Wetsuit under your clothes I’ve heard works

UnhappyHobbit · 13/02/2026 21:40

I think your friend is being immature. It’s the equivalent of me complaining about a friend that uses Botox and looks younger than me. If I don’t like it, I can join them. Sulking about it is a complete waste of energy.

Enjoy your weight loss OP!

BigButtons · 13/02/2026 21:42

Yeah I have friends doing this very thing- they look like something out of Bergen Belsen. It is horrifying. They are freezing cold and have aged at least 10 years
