Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

Xenical is still around. Also called Orlistat. It works by blocking the absorption of fat. You can get the same effect by reducing fat intake except just not eating it in the first place doesn't give xenical's cute little side effect of the massive smelly runs. Part of the way it works is teaching you to eat less fat because living on the loo or, worse, getting leaks is not pleasant. Not me, a close friend. IIRC it was originally made from processing crab shell and it couldn't be taken by people who had a shellfish allergy but I could be thinking of something else.

The stuff that did work was on prescription and was called Ponderax in the Uk and is no longer available since 1997. It was a type of amphetamine. I had two prescriptions for it back in the 80's taking it felt wonderful.....didn't need to sleep, didn't need to eat. I lost 2 stone in 2 months. Fortunately it upset my digestion badly because continued use can result in damage to heart muscle. It was withdrawn in 1997

I didn't say it was a protein shake, I said it was found in the isle where the protein shakes are.

Skimmed milk powder, maltodextrin, whey protein concentrate, oat fiber, inullin, corn syrup solids, soy protein isolate, nature identical vanilla flavour, oieic sunflower oil powder, minerals, cellulose gel powder, hydroxycitric acid, vitamins, l-canitine, xanthan gum, carrageenan, sucralose.

Yeah it's found in the protein shake aisle, because it's a......... Protein shake, not an appetite suppressing shake 😂

It sounds nothing remotely like the ingredients in mine.

My old bottle expired in May 2013, but the ingredients (as well as I can read, there is mold/old spots on the bottle):

nicotinamide (wtf??)
calcium as ascorbate
riboflavine
pyridoxine hydrochloride

So unless they've changed the formula since then, it's really weird.

Oh my god, I'd forgotten this stuff. My mum was on it in the 70s when I was a teenager. She lost a tiny bit of weight, but her mood was all over the place and she barely slept.

Most people put the weight back on, on any diet if you go back to your old ways.
The difference with mj is you can stay on a small dose and keep it off......forever, which is what I'm doing, despite the slavering onlookers waiting for me to burst out of my size 8s.

But neither of those things work like a WLI or work at all really. Why are you confused about people taking something that works instead of something that doesn't work?

Diet pills work, too. They've been around for a century, after all. I'm just wondering why use needles when you can pop a pill.

People talking about the diet pill that fills you up has reminded me of something that was around about 20 years ago. They were tablets which you took with water about half an hour before meals, from memory they were meant to fill your stomach or slow digestion. I think they may have come from the health food shop. I don’t think they can have worked very well but were meant to be quite safe. Does anyone else remember this or know what I’m thinking of?

I remember from over 50 years ago. Chewy brown squares take with water half hour before meal, Basis being it takes that time for your brain to recognise your full. Not sure they slowed digestion though.

Actually, the research (flawed as it is) only looks at obese patients and projected their weight regain from the first year after stopping. There is no reason to think this would also apply to people who lose weight from a non obese starting point. Obesity is a chronic condition and the body tries to regain weight after losing due to the damage caused by obesity. Chances are OP will be just fine maintaining her weight loss.

if diet pills worked anywhere near as well as WLI then WLI wouldn't have to have been invented. The fact that people don't lose weight on diet pills anywhere near as successfully as they do on WLI is evidence that WLI work completely differently to diet pills!
Personally I'd prefer to inject once a week than take a daily pill. But even if I would prefer a pill, there is no pill that works anywhere like as well as WLI.

Using weight loss jabs is very likely to come back and bite you on the bum, according to the last two paragraphs of this BBC report today on different methods of losing weight, unless of course you plan to stay on them for ever.

there were two kinds that I remember. One was pretty much flavoured fudge. The idea was that it quickly raised blood sugar and therefore meant that you could stave off eating. The other kind was more health food shoppy. Same concept but IIRC it was basically dried figs and prunes with something like bran. Concept was 3 fold, blood sugar lift, added fibre to feel full and speed up digestion so less food absorbed so lowers calorie intake. No Idea if either worked but people at school used to have them.

You understand why blood sugar lifts are now proven to be very bad, right.
