Sorry if I missed a thread, but has anyone else seen this?

It’s fucking disgusting.

I thought nothing this man could do would shock me anymore, how can he still be in office?

Bewildered as to how I was deemed/ perceived as 'racist' for using the term 'trained monkeys' - a well-known term unrelated to race, and equivalent (for example) to the notion of the human being a 'reasoning ape'. My point (now lost as the post has been unaccountably deleted) was that it struck me that the behaviour of the Obamas was as such (i.e. behaving like puppets) - and I suggested this was the angle of the 2 second clip in the Donald Trump video. Entirely unrelated to race in other words. As mentioned in the deleted post the evidence that Trump is anything but racially prejudiced is clear in his cabinet appointments as well as the improvement to the lives of black and hispanic citizens engendered during his presidency. I am mixed race myself, as can be ascertained by checking some of my old posts. But 'ban the racist! kick her out!'. Try engaging in respectful debate, perhaps🤷🏽‍♀️

Hmm...so you think Trump meant it in a non-racist way. What about the person who created the post? Do you think they also meant it in a non-racist way?

I'm pretty critical of Obama myself but I'd never call him a 'trained animal'. That seems bizarre. He doesn't seem to be slavishly following anyone else's orders...do you really think that Trump believed that about Obama? I don't think so...

The democrats as well need to take responsibility moving to the left as far as they have in a country petrified by communism was a bad move and a course they haven’t corrected - they need to move much more to the centre for eh future of the US

That's absolute nonsense @tiswa - Harris did not run a leftwing campaign. You couldn't get much closer to the centre than she was. The Democrats are certainly further to the right than the Labour Party, who are hardly firebrands of socialism themselves. It's that the Republicans have lurched all the way over towards outright fascism that makes people forget where the centre actually is. Please don't blame those still in touch with sanity for the excesses of the right!

Harris didn't run an economically left wing campaign, I think pp probably meant her social positions. It was a terrible mistake to support transwomen in women's spaces, for one thing.

Might you give some more detail on this? :

'the improvement to the lives of black and hispanic citizens engendered during his presidency'

Unemployment amongst those demographics at the lowest level in years. Over the past 18 months I have travelled extensively in the USA for around 22 weeks total (three trips). Met many people of all races and backgrounds. I am interested in politics so the conversations tended to drift in that direction. This is obviously anecdotal and one person's experience but I only encountered one person who spoke against Trump (my airbnb hostess). Even she admitted that although she had a personal aversion to him, the country has hugely improved since his election. All our Uber drivers (mostly black, some hispanics, less white Americans) were full of praise for the new government 🤷🏽‍♀️

Thank you, that's very intetesting. This is an important point. Previous Democrat governments failed to deal properly with unemployment, so I can understand people voting Trump not because they necessarily think he's a great person but because they felt he would materially improve their lives.

Can I ask what the Uber drivers liked about Trump? Anything particular he'd done?

Notalotanota2026 · 07/02/2026 03:38

Obama got ripped to shreds for wearing a tan suit.

The 34x felon, racist paedophile posts this..and nothing! Absolutely nothing!

And MAGA just lap it up. Why? Because they are just like him!

🤮

Lampzade · 07/02/2026 04:14

Anyone who suggests that Trump wasn’t being racist is being deliberately obtuse or is just plain ignorant He knows that the video is racist ( that was his intention )and I cannot understand the mental gymnastics some posters are using to prove otherwise
Trump doesn’t give a hoot if people think that he is racist , what he cares about is those Epstein files .
His posting the video was a deliberate attempt to distract attention away from questions about his involvement with Epstein and the redaction of some of the files

Thatsalineallright · 07/02/2026 04:20

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 06/02/2026 13:31

That's fair, but I still just don't really see what it achieves. Are people of colour in the UK really being reassured by Starmer or Ed Davey making a statement on this?

I just feel that it somehow makes Trumps words matter more in some ways.

There are plenty of racist world leaders, we don't comment every time one of them comes out with something racist. But because it's the USA, because it's Trump, we have to comment, we have to make a statement. It just feels like that by doing so we legitimise him. It feels like it makes what he says more important, even when he's saying something utterly abhorrent. (which is most of the time)

I'm just really fucking sick of him, and of the influence he has.

Completely agree with this. Trump thrives on attention, positive and negative. Wish the world would just ignore him.

rainandshine38 · 07/02/2026 04:56

How sad that the system is so broken in the US that their ‘president’ can post this and absolutely nothing happens.

I always thought it was a shame he didn’t die of COVID in 1990, we wouldn’t have had the January 6th insurrection or Trump returning to the Presidency.

I’ve just realised that I put 1990! Obviously I meant 2020, how embarrassing. 🤣

PermanentTemporary · 07/02/2026 08:55

Black unemployment in the US was up in 2025 quite a bit, employment was a lot better in 2023. Hispanic unemployment is down.

Really fascinating watching all the mad Trumpy evangelicals fanning out on Twitter to dig their tongues into the Dear Leader’s arse. Clearly the administration was worried enough by this to order them to get licking.

Easy to forget that this ‘mistake’ that Trump said wasn’t a mistake, that was done by somebody else except he would have done it anyway, started with posting a bonkers conspiracy theory video about the 2020 election - not ok either. Also if you have racist material coming up on your social media feed it’s because you watch a lot of it.

Sweetiedarling7 · 07/02/2026 09:11

CarelessWimper · 06/02/2026 20:22

Even if for one second you didn’t believe this was racist (which is insane) but how can anyone thing this was awful cartoon was worthy of being posted by a sitting President? I know there are claims it was posted by someone else but I don’t think anyone believes that after the rest of Trumps deranged posts about such important matters such as why Sydney Sweeney is hot, or why he hates Taylor Swift or Ellen or Rosie ODonnell or which other important matters he is thinking about.

Yes. This video is entirely in line with everything he says and does. There is no way that it was a mistake.
The even bigger shame is the enablers around trump.
Only a couple of republican politicians have spoken out against portraying black people as monkeys.
Silence means either agreement or cowardice.
Even some black republicans are saying nothing.
Much like the black and asian members of Reform or women who hang around misogynistic men they fool themselves that they can be part of the gang if they say and do the right things in a desperate pick me charade when in reality they are all just turkeys voting for christmas.

How can you possibly be "bewildered"?

Ask MNHQ why your post was deleted if you really don't understand. But frankly, you could have done a quick google in the time that it would have taken you to write this post to find out why your post would have been considered horribly racist. If you actually wanted to know.

If you are genuinely as shockingly ignorant as you are claiming to be, then it's about time you educated yourself. Personally, I think you know exactly why your post was deleted and you're just being disingenuous.

Disgusting.

RichardOnslowRoper · 07/02/2026 09:58

Having black and brown people in your cabinet does not mean you are not racist. The PoC are weapons used against other PoC. Like Usha Vance, treated like dirt by her own husband.
The same seen in the UK, where PoC are used to announce just about every racist iniative, like sending refugees to Rwanda.

LizzybugMeeting · 07/02/2026 10:08

Going by current vote numbers there must have been 15 people reading this and thinking it's perfectly fine having this racist turd in the White house. Yet I've not seen that many posters who defended it. Are they ashamed of is it too hard to explain?

Racists will always make excuses for other racists.

Having black and brown persons in your cabinet does not make him non racist, the many black women losing jobs will beg to differ that he made their lives better and the fact that majorities of black and brown voters rejected attests to their thoughts on him.

But I repeat, racists will always make excuses for racists.

If there is anything more embarrassing than black MAGAts I have yet to see it.

JHound · 07/02/2026 12:16

And people pretending Trump is not massively racist and obsessed with Obama are forgetting he was a huge proponent of the Birther conspiracy theory which insisted that Obama could not possibly be a real American for “reasons”.

About the Obamas.
If you don't know, there is no one on this earth who can explain it to you.

Totally pointless to even try.

They 'the people' voted for this racist scum of a human being. Not one person can say they didn't know what they voted for. Of course they did. UK and Farage will be next.

I agree. As Jamie Foxx said recently, it wasn’t really about the price of eggs.

Everyone I spoke to (again - personal experience not a 'scientific' survey) was saying that the economy is thriving since Trump was re-elected, meaning that the cost of living has gone down, cheaper food prices (except New York😮‍💨 - and this will only get worse now they have rashly elected a communist mayor: will have a detrimental effect on tourism there), increased job opportunities, cheaper fuel - huge difference to all the Uber drivers we met, many being black or Hispanic, who could now do that job again (often as a second job) after being forced to quit with the crazy fuel price-hikes under Biden. One (white) Uber driver was saying he had a small (8 vehicle) truck company pre-Biden. Fuel price-hikes destroyed his business.

Naturally I don't use 'Google'. A neutral source of information is a superior choice.
