Absolutely. "He who rides the tiger is afraid to dismount." There's a lot of Republicans in congress and the senate who They jumped on to MAGA thinking it'd be their way to power. And, to be fair to them, they weren't wrong. There's a substantial list of them who were against Trump at first then bent the knee when it meant they got a chance of sticking their snouts in the trough, J D Vance being a prime example.

Quite how they manage to get off the MAGA train remains to be seen. Marjorie Taylor Greene's already made the jump but we'll have to see how good her timing was.

Even if for one second you didn’t believe this was racist (which is insane) but how can anyone thing this was awful cartoon was worthy of being posted by a sitting President? I know there are claims it was posted by someone else but I don’t think anyone believes that after the rest of Trumps deranged posts about such important matters such as why Sydney Sweeney is hot, or why he hates Taylor Swift or Ellen or Rosie ODonnell or which other important matters he is thinking about.

That's absolute nonsense @tiswa - Harris did not run a leftwing campaign. You couldn't get much closer to the centre than she was. The Democrats are certainly further to the right than the Labour Party, who are hardly firebrands of socialism themselves. It's that the Republicans have lurched all the way over towards outright fascism that makes people forget where the centre actually is. Please don't blame those still in touch with sanity for the excesses of the right!

I'm familiar with the miscarriage of justice but I didn't know about Trump's involvement. I looked it up there and not only did he speak out in 1989 but he called them murderers as recently as 2024 and they are suing him. I hope they squeeze every penny out of him but of course that won't happen. It will be dragged out until they are too emotionally exhausted to keep fighting.

Bewildered as to how I was deemed/ perceived as 'racist' for using the term 'trained monkeys' - a well-known term unrelated to race, and equivalent (for example) to the notion of the human being a 'reasoning ape'. My point (now lost as the post has been unaccountably deleted) was that it struck me that the behaviour of the Obamas was as such (i.e. behaving like puppets) - and I suggested this was the angle of the 2 second clip in the Donald Trump video. Entirely unrelated to race in other words. As mentioned in the deleted post the evidence that Trump is anything but racially prejudiced is clear in his cabinet appointments as well as the improvement to the lives of black and hispanic citizens engendered during his presidency. I am mixed race myself, as can be ascertained by checking some of my old posts. But 'ban the racist! kick her out!'. Try engaging in respectful debate, perhaps🤷🏽‍♀️
