Sorry if I missed a thread, but has anyone else seen this?

It’s fucking disgusting.

I thought nothing this man could do would shock me anymore, how can he still be in office?

What does this asshole have to do before somebody somewhere shouts Stop Enough Already ??? Can you imagine if any other world leader did this . The sad thing is that Trump obviously means it . I fear for this world

People may rightly despair at Labour and the Tories, but Farage’s lot would be on another level of awful.

Yup. Farage et al have learned an awful lot from Trump, Bannon and the rest of them. Not least just how easy it is to use jingoism, fear and relentless lies to garner support and make them rich.

Carolenarua · 06/02/2026 16:01

What is going on ? Where is the outcry? All world leaders need to call him out! Sickening. What can we do ? Listening to LBC earlier and they were talking about it but it needs to be called out everywhere and he needs to go. Surely the US government have some standards and they can remove him...

You're not a minority of one. I agree. If we actually want racism to stop and are not just virtue signalling, then doing nothing is the correct thing to do.
Publicising this shite emboldens others to do the same. For Trump all publicity is good publicity. It is exactly what he needs to thrive. We need to completely blank the racist old git.

You don't stop racism by refusing to challenge it. And challenging racism is not virtue signalling.

Trump cannot be ignored. He's the President with a huge platform. And the people who will never ignore him are the racists who eagerly latch onto this as an invitation to be ever more bold and overt with their own racism. If we all look in the other direction, they get stronger.

It's much easier to turn your face away and call people who do stand up to it virtue signallers, but that isn't doing anything to stop the spread of open and gleeful racism. In order to have any hope of challenging that, we do actually have to pay attention and expect our politicians to say something about it.

The US political system has a fair number of checks and balances to curb this kind of blatant power grab but they all depend on other branches of the government - congress, the senate and/or the judiciary - to exercise the powers that they hold. MAGA has taken over congress and the senate and allowed the supreme court to be stuffed with lackies. The real test will be the mid-terms later this year but Trump's already making noises about how he'll only pay attention to the results if they're the right results plus there are relentless attacks on access to voting that are predominantly affecting Democrat voters. It's scary to watch.

Obviously a distraction from Epstein . However , aside from this, one of the most concerning things about this whole issue is the fact that no one is surprised that the President of The USA is a loud and proud racist
. Furthermore , we all know that he is unlikely to be brought to book for his actions.
We have all become immune to his heinous behaviour .. Terrifying

simpsonthecat · 06/02/2026 16:34

America - can you sink any lower.
For the 90 million who did not vote, get your arses into gear for the midterms.
(90 million is more than actually voted for the piece of shit called Trump)

Yes, the Epstein files are getting closer. He will try and do anything to distract.

simpsonthecat · 06/02/2026 16:37

And just to add... his Press Secretary Bullshit Barbie AKA Karoline Leavitt - you can fuck right off with your excuses about it. She said it's just from the Lion King and no one is interested and it's fake outrage.

What does she mean 'lion king'? I wrote to my TDs (Irish MPs) asking for a comment to be made and also that they don't go to the white house for Paddy's. I know it won't make a difference but feel like I have to do something.

MandingoAteMyBaby · 06/02/2026 16:43

This “man” is adored by Farage and espouses the same morality and politics as Reform. As we’ve seen from the Epstein files, it’s all part of the same strategy to give billionaires yet more power and wealth. This is relevant for the UK, we should not be putting Reform people anywhere near power.

He's desperately trying to distract everyone from the Epstein files, where he appears to an extraordinary extent. The media really should be focussing hard on this.

Well done! I've written to my MP today but it's on a different matter.

She has said that it is a video depicting Trump as the King of the Jungle and democrats as characters from the Lion King. So that's alright then 🤬
Trump needs to be depicted as a baboon's arse

Boomer55 · 06/02/2026 16:48

Trump isn’t interested in what Americans think, let alone us.

Our government aren’t exactly brilliant. 🤷‍♀️

stonkytonk11 · 06/02/2026 16:56

It’s utterly despicable but won’t even make headline news…it’s gone so far now and nothing happens. He seems to be untouchable

Wolverine23 · 06/02/2026 17:01

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 06/02/2026 12:54

Why should any of our politicians mention it at all?

It's not our country, not our politics. It's nothing to do with us. Commenting on it just throws more weight behind Trump. The best thing we can do is just ignore him as much as humanly possible.

All that happens if we comdemn it is that it gives Trump another distraction opportunity. That's precisely what he's looking for.

not our politics? Tell the to reform and the members of that party. They idolize this piece of shit

BreakingBroken · 06/02/2026 17:01

The sooner countries disentangle themselves from the US the better.

canuckup · 06/02/2026 17:03

Why are you surprised?

What a very odd thing for somebody with your user name to say. I don't believe that either Sam Vimes or his creator would believe that horrific behavior by another human being is ever "nothing to do with us."

PermanentTemporary · 06/02/2026 17:20

‘Our government aren’t exactly brilliant’

I may not think our PM should waste time talking about Trump’s socials, mainly because that’s what he wants from this stuff, but this isn’t ok. In what world has anyone in the Cabinet or Shadow Cabinet said or written anything as grossly racist and inflammatory as this?

YourBlueShark · 06/02/2026 17:22

TheCountessofLocksley · 06/02/2026 14:57

Because not speaking out and not challenging racism is how it starts to rise and spread. That man holds the highest office in his country - his behaviours encourage others to behave the same way. What message is he sending to all Afro-Americans/POC?

All world leaders need to speak up and say how this is unacceptable. Silence is not the answer when racism comes knocking and anyone who thinks is it is needs to take a long hard look at themselves because silence = complicity/agreement/empathy for those opinions.

It also genuinely helps us in the US when other world leaders speak up. Part of Trump's platform, which his followers have continued to parrot, is that with his presidency, we have unprecedented respect from other global leaders. Those of us mired in reality know that the exact opposite is true, but it definitely helps when other countries' leaders condemn him publicly.

LionKing88 · 06/02/2026 17:28

I just had to Google it... Holy fuck.

Galatine · 06/02/2026 17:36

I think and hope that world leaders are waling up to the fact that Trump is not going to be more controllable if they lick his backside as they have done so far. He's just a nasty creep with half a brain and a lot of money he did not earn.

TopPocketFind · 06/02/2026 17:48

Just in case anyone believes Leavitt when she implied that some random, unnamed low-level staffer was to blame for posting the now-deleted racist Obama ape video.

In 2024, Trump stated that only himself and Dan Scavino have access to his Truth Social account.

DyslexicPoster · 06/02/2026 17:57

skippy67 · 06/02/2026 12:39

He's still in office because his base like this. It's why they like him. Some people will wail about how awful this is for a while, then go back to their lives. Lots of people won't care at all. Racism is all the rage or hadn't you noticed?

Sadly this is true. No one has forced voters to the polls to vote for him. I thought the voters would have been outraged when white Americans was being shot on the street ( on the premise they can turn their backs on young black me being shot as "it wouldn't hapen to me / my son" as we are not black).

The reality is that he has a big fan base. And they love him. They love this. This is what they want. The majority of Americans voted for this. He didn't just wonder into office by his own choice. If we can't respect or understand it, we at least need to accept that Americans voted for it. That is what frys my head the most.

Most of the world is also looking at us like are Batshit crazy too.

But this who most Yanks feel best represents them

That isn't true, though. I think we should stand in solidarity with the decent American people who are as horrified as we are by Trump.

I mean it is who most Yanks thought best represented them.
