Romesh Ranganathan show with Sally Traffic messing around and just talking all the time and not playing music? I don't want to listen to them chattering away as if there's no audience.

Radio 2 shows I can’t stand are Elaine Paige (that stupid goggle she does is so annoying); Rylan Clark on Saturdays and Sara Cox.

I love Liza Tarbuck, Jo Whiley and the 70s show (now Bob Harris) on a Sunday afternoon) have to be careful not to catch the end of Elaine Paige’s show!

The drive time show on R2 has been great this week.

No daft voices.

The handovers at 9.30 do my head in. What was with Vernon, possibly Wednesday shouting "Jeff" over and over again.

I was going nuts today with Vernon Kay. He and Ellie Brennan absolutely killing themselves laughing for about ten minutes at stupid stuff that's not even funny. It's not entertainment, it's puerile self indulgence that BBC licence payers are subsidising. It's like we're observers of their private arsing around. Same with Sally Traffic. It hurts my head. And before anyone asks why I listen, I was forced to as I have been to a craft workshop and the radio was on.

Another forced listen 🙉 Romesh telling us all about the time he went to the toilet after handling onion bhajis and samosas and making his willy smart. Then him and Sally splitting their sides laughing and doing a piano room song when neither of them can sing for toffee.

It seems radio shows are now all about us listening to presenters pissing themselves laughing.

I actually enjoy them two together. Sally is clearly knocking on and forgetful-like me really, I enjoy their humour.

Why can't they just play music? Surely they realise that that is what listeners want to hear? Not the "presenters" puerile antics?

I've noticed this quite a lot with Vernon and Ellie, you get dead air coming from the radio then realise they are too busy laughing at something. Also VK tends to chat far too long at times about absolutely nothing of interest except to himself when he could have played another track.

I've started switching to BBC 6 and I think that's the only way I'm going to hear a lot more music rather than lots of inane chat, giggling and shouting.

Agree! That show is getting very annoying and that kids in the car thing is ultra annoying, especially that awful jingle.
I’m always relieved when Jo comes on and order is restored.

Still miss Simon Mayo in that slot!

Hmmm, interesting. What about her talking about her own experience of singing in shows? Do you think she should only use her knowledge and experience to present the show but not make it personal at all?
