To be bemused by Radio 2 today?

Romesh Ranganathan show with Sally Traffic messing around and just talking all the time and not playing music? I don't want to listen to them chattering away as if there's no audience.

I think in the 90s there was a station called Laser that pretty much played nothing but music. I used to have it on, listening to Radio 2 these days, I wish it was still going.

I haven’t listened to Romesh Ranganathan‘s radio show but I do enjoy some of his comedy. I think he’s kind of famous for being a bit of a curmudgeon though isn’t he? I’m not sure how that works just having radio bants.

I've just been listening to Greg James on the way to work. The radio was tuned to R2 and Vernon Kay came on. All the nonsense with him calling his producer Janice Janine Jolene is wearing and puerile. Switched over to better quality presenting.

Yes @HelloDenise I was wondering why the Janice Janine shit has now had Jolene added it to it and that ridiculous handover with VK and SM saying "healthy" hundreds of times. Just shut up.

There's a whole thread somewhere about this and Sara Cox saying Scooby Doo over and over again. It's called something like Sara Cox Pack It In or similar.

😂I actually don't mind Sara Cox generally (as a fellow Northerner!) but yeah some of the infantilisation is irritating.

I usually put a couple of tunes on Spotify until I know it's over 😆

I can’t get annoyed at the presenters for occasionally sounding tetchy, when they have to talk to some of these absolute knobs. I do wonder what the conversations about callers are like in the R2 office!! Probably a bit like the time Gordon Brown insulted that elderly lady.

I do agree Sally Traffic is getting a bit mumbly I usually notice it when am listening to Rylan but i do love her …. she’s still triffic

Sara Cox last Friday on All Requests add this chap on and he went on and on for like 10 minutes about how he met his dp at the airport in lockdown. It was tedious

I heard that one! I thought he sounded drunk. Boring AF.

It was when someone texted in a comment about that the wedding speech is going to be epic or words to that effect 🤣

also the two callers previously were men of a certain age wanting rave music. When I was in the mood for someone who was already in a hot tub with the bubbly and wanted something by ABBA.

Even my OH remarked that the guy on Sara Cox was boring. He must have been as he rarely takes any notice of anything.

Someone needs to inform Sara Cox that she is a middle-aged woman in her 50s. Continually shouting "scooby dooby doo" is embarrassing at her age.

Just listened to the worst ever radio feature with Ritchie singing songs and trying to stay in time with the actual singer. It was painful

I've got the Drivetime radio 2 show on right now. Sara has pronounced absolutely everything in a weird quirky way instead of just saying the words.
