To wonder why it’s seen that upper class people don’t eat fast food?

I always see it said that upper class people wouldn’t be seen dead in Mcdonalds etc but it’s a strange urban myth?

I am upper class and I cannot resist a Big Arch or a box of nuggets. Even more so the breakfast menu has me salivating.

So AIBU to think this is a silly urban myth?

What else would an upper class person deem themselves as?

1. Farmer
2. Landowner/landlord
3. Working in family business.
4. Lots would swear they are middle class
5. A huge chunk would try and insist they were working class because "I've got lots of working class friends", "I worked in the village pub once", "I shagged my cleaner", "my mum went to a day school" etc.

I think you may be onto something with this. I’ve noticed a few of the MC bunch have to make a really big song and dance about how they’d never shop at X, or eat in Y.

Why makes you ‘upper class’ out of interest?

It wouldn’t surprise me andchecks out with people I’ve met. Upper classes are secure in their status so don’t have to define themselves that way. (The ones I met at least)

If you were actually upper-class you would know that class and wealth are very much not the same thing.

That’s the way to do it! I do laugh when I see people claiming the upper class only eat a small salad and fish. We do enjoy treats too!

I think it’s more about being health conscious or environmentally conscious when it comes to fast food than it is about class.

I think everything can be enjoyed in moderation. Maybe because I’m older now, but I wouldn’t deny myself a treat.

It might have something to do with the logistical difficulties of getting a Just Eats or a Deliveroo driver out so far into the countryside and down our long drives on their little mopeds.
