Guardian is running a live feed, and a good unbiased source is Agenda Free TV on YouTube also running live feeds from the streets there.

Obviously multiple versions of events being thrown about as it's very fresh.

Sending solidarity across the pond to any US Mumsnetters in the locale and protesting the awful actions of ICE and disregard of your constitution by the "President".

Gaslighting does come from top, the same people who are convulsing with TDS are those who fawned over Mark Carneys Davos speech the other day where he literally said out loud that they all knew the "rules based order" was bullshit all along. Polarisation is distorting everyone's ability to think

Fawned?

Fawned?

No part of that makes any sense at all. Maybe their Google Translate is on the Fritz

Dymaxion · 24/01/2026 22:53

Is Trump inspired by the dictators ?

Which particular Dictators were you thinking of ? They all had fantastic PR, prior to and whilst they were in power.

You haven't seen the video filmed by the woman in pink over the road then, have you?

It shows everything, from a much closer vantage point.

Absolutely horrendous.

Imagine having the audacity to tell the rest of the world what to do and class yourself as a fucking peace envoy when this is what you allow and embolden in the country you are in charge of?

Scary situation. Mostly, I feel for all the children who have to be witness to and victim of all of this mess worldwide.

Imagine how radicalized you have to be to sincerely bemoan "people who are convulsing with TDS" and yet complain "polarisation is distorting everyone's ability to think" in the same short post.

Is Trump inspired by the dictators?

Trump is inspired by life-long narcissism exacerbated by increasing dementia while being steered by backroom actors who are pulling the strings.

I've been a Trump apologist but not over this. Sadly it seems an inevitable symptom of the direction of things and that the UK can expect similar in coming years.

Only if we let it. I’m absolutely fucking sick of this shit and if we don’t start voicing our displeasure then things roll on as they are. There’s more of us together than there is ‘rulers’, consent of the people can be withdrawn.

RufustheFactuaIReindeer · 24/01/2026 23:01

It's remarkable how the pro-2nd Amendment, the pro-"Don't Tread On Me", the pro-small government, the pro-"you can take my gun from my cold dead hand", the pro-"don't trust the government!" and the pro-"free speech!!!?!!" crowd have so quickly turned to "if you don't instantly comply with what the government tells you to do then you deserve to be killed". Not that they're an abject bunch of cowardly fucking hypocrites, of course. They must just really enjoy the flavour of the boots that they're licking

well said

Let all the trump apologists try to justify this murder. Every American should be deeply ashamed of their country right now.

The decent ones are. And terrified. The rest of those US bible thumping ‘conservative christian’ trump lovers (small c) are no doubt celebrating because all the weirdness prophesied in their bible looks like it’s ’coming to pass’

Theroadt · 24/01/2026 23:06

Ponoka7 · 24/01/2026 22:17

Reminds me of Hillsborough. Thatcher still got voted in. The country didn't support and doesn't support criminal charges, loss of pensions etc.
Ask your parents if they felt ashamed of their country at the time. So while things are going too far in the US, it doesn't mean that the whole country should feel ashamed.

Well yes it does, actually. When Boris Johnson was so incredibly rude to EU countries during Brexit negotiations I felt ashamed and I voted Remain. Americans should be ashamed, all of them.

I’m more interested in what’s happening in Iran to be honest, but frustratingly there’s hardly any mention of it on the news.

Livelovebehappy · 24/01/2026 23:12

People should really wait to hear the facts. We all know what happened when people were spouting nonsense in the immediate aftermath of the Renee shooting before the real story immersed. Why can’t people just stay away from the area where ICE are trying to carry out their job, and not interfere with the law enforcement process? The people there today were not protesting peacefully, but being violent and aggressive, which could have harmed the very people they claim they’re trying to protect. 77 million Americans voted for Trump to sort out illegal immigration. He’s carrying out what he was voted in to do.

It's difficult to get footage out of a country that has shut the internet down, and that assumes that the IRGC didn't get hold of it first.

But this is the same thing anyway. The scale is very different (for now) but it's still the extrajudicial killing of people who oppose the regime. It shocks people because the US used to claim to be a democracy, "Land of the free" etc.

Perhaps you might search for a relevant thread, or perhaps start your own.

You mean when Kristi Noem claimed within about 15 minutes that the victim was a "domestic terrorist" who put the agent's life at risk?

Yeah, that was quickly disproven, especially when the footage from Jonathan Ross' own phone was leaked and it was indisputable that it was a cold-blooded murder.

The people there today were not protesting peacefully, but being violent and aggressive

Were they fuck. We've seen what happened, from multiple angles. This was murder. Again.

Because ICE are acting like the gastapp and people are standing up for what they believe is right.

"Agree with everything the government chooses to do. They are always right and always have your best interests at heart. Don't even think about using your constitutional rights to disagree. Remember - always show your citizenship papers when an unidentified, armed person tells you to. DO EVERYTHING THIS MASKED PERSON TELLS YOU TO DO OTHERWISE HE'LL KILL YOU. Never forget that this is what we tell you freedom is."

Keep licking that boot. It must be absolutely delicious.

" 77 million Americans voted for Trump to sort out illegal immigration. He’s carrying out what he was voted in to do."

Good grief. I don't think any sane person voted for it to be OK for citizens to be murdered in the street.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 24/01/2026 23:19

What I don't get, having watched several different videos, is the carrying on shooting when the victim is down and unarmed. They shot him after they'd taken his gun FFS. And in not one video have I seen the gun being held by the victim, which means they searched him for it. He was holding a phone, not a gun, and they piled on him as he crouched over someone else on the ground, apparently trying to assist / protect them. I just can't make it make any sort of sense at all. The ICE agents escalated it, not him.

What an odd take.

If this was happening in Britain I would bloody hope that every man and woman would be out in the streets trying to stop it and not sitting at home behind their TVs just allowing them to “carry out their job”.

Thank you for the sources. I’ve been seeing stuff on social media but I want some actual reporting of what’s going on. I am really disappointed in the BBC’s silence on the ICE stuff.

That’s truly kind of you, @MistressoftheDarkSide.
When I’ve tried to stick up for the murdered mom or the Minnesotans, on Twitter, I’ve been attacked by a swarm of magas - and. they’re. so. f**king. stupid. They try to one-up me or insult me or degrade me — they try, but fail. It works for them but not on me.
Amongst themselves they find themselves very clever — the doofuses. Kind of like the intellectual form of tying someone’s shoelaces together, if you get my drift.
They aren’t difficult to get the better of, just pesky — like gnats or mosquitoes.
It’s the ones with power who truly frighten me, like Trump and his cabinet. Their orders frighten me.
Oh - and the reason those ICE officers keep their faces covered? I’m pretty sure it’s because they’re wanted criminals. Or they’re convicted criminals - like criminals from J6, from when they attacked the Capitol and beat the police officers. And in some instances, beat the police officers to death. Inexcusable.
They’re wanted criminals. Or they should be.
I cry for my beloved country. ❤️🇺🇸

And I cry for the friendships we once had - the good, solid, enduring, warm friendships.
❤️ 🇨🇦 🇲🇽 🇬🇧 🇩🇪 🇬🇱 🇺🇦 🇩🇰 🇺🇸
If we as the USA can survive the next 3 years, it’ll be a miracle.
Please hang in there with us and remember that WE are not HIM. And that as always, we stand with you, our steadfast friends. ❤️

Civil war = National Guard = No mid term elections
Trump is killing people for his own agenda.

Edited

I believe this is the aim. At the very least they want to make it so that people do not feel safe to go and vote. While making it hard for people to make postal votes.

While we’re talking about elections… Jack Smith’s testimony this week at the inquiry was perfection.
