Is ICE's job to violently detain anyone they fancy, treat them as sub human, ignore evidence that citizens they are detaining are not "illegal", traumatise children and ignore due process behind the veil of anonymity and dubiously conferred "immunity" ?
Because that is what they're doing, and that is what people are fighting back against.
I have long suspected that immigration policy in the Western world has been engineered to stoke hatred and division and set the stage for tighter control of the population. Call me a conspiracy theorist, because that's the easy cop out, but destabilising poor countries via military action and economic skullduggery on any number of allegedly "noble" pretexts while siphoning off resources and letting dictators run roughshod over their own people was only going to lead to displacement of people fearing for their lives and using any means possible to escape. And those people will be a mixed bag because humanity is a mixed bag. But the genuinely vulnerable vastly outnumber the willfully criminal and don't deserve to be collateral damage in conflicts not of their making. And nobody deserves to be brutalised full stop.
What is the point of laws, justice systems and due process if they can be overthrown in a fit of pique by people brainwashed by ideologies that seek only to feather the nests of a deranged elite who do not see "others" as human.
And the biggest joke of all is every time "God" gets invoked, and "Christianity" because everything OT seems to be the core, as opposed to NT teachings. I'm not religious but alot of the fundamentalists claim to be and the hypocrisy is breathtaking.
And now the results coming to a street near you.
I don't think Jesus coming with a sword was supposed to be taken literally, and how does one turn the other cheek when the vulnerable are slaughtered?
I'm in combative mood as today is the 4th anniversary of the death of the love of my life. I can feel him spinning in his grave, a hunt sab, a CND member, a champion of the "alternative" community, with many friends in the US and a passion for the country and its culture, including its indigeonous history.
So take me on if you please, a grieving, raging widow mourning not just for herself but for humanity itself and at the end of the line with the horrors of the world. I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm looking for justice. And ultimately peace. For everyone.
