If anyone is observing the carnage in Minneapolis.....

Guardian is running a live feed, and a good unbiased source is Agenda Free TV on YouTube also running live feeds from the streets there.

Obviously multiple versions of events being thrown about as it's very fresh.

Sending solidarity across the pond to any US Mumsnetters in the locale and protesting the awful actions of ICE and disregard of your constitution by the "President".

It’s nothing like the Holocaust and you know it.

Is the Holocaust purely Jewish? If it is, my apologies.

If not where do you think it started, with the old, the infirm, the disabled, the gypsies and all other minority groups.

ICE don't even seem to be making those distinctions.

It’s nothing like the Holocaust and you know it.

Remember, it didn’t start with gas chambers.

It started with politicians dividing the people with ‘us vs. them.’

It started with intolerance and hate speech, and when people stopped caring, became desensitized, and turned a blind eye, it became a slippery slope

… it’s “nothing like the Holocaust” ???

Rubbish.
Wilful ignorance as a tool to justify cold blooded murder by a fascist regime is not a good look 🙄
Minnesota has quite a low immigrant population compared to many red states. Of those, the percentage of undocumented immigrants is lower still.
It is no secret how Mango Mussolini feels about Tim Walz and blue states in general. It's also no secret how petty and vengeful MM is.
The Somali population are the new "they're eating the cats and dogs.." Haitian one. 🤷‍♀️

For anyone interested, this is an excellent analysis of multi angle videos of the murder

Somalians have scammed literally billions, even the NYT covered it.

It really was/is that bad

"Yes, and shame on every single despicable one of them."

This reminds me of when John Mcain was at a rally or similar and one of his supporters started badmouthing Obama. He pulled her up on it, saying he was a decent man who had differing views on certain areas....

Times have certainly changed.

Times have changed indeed

Just 6 years ago these guys were saying they couldn't breathe while wearing a mask. Now they can't execute American citizens and beat up migrants without one 🤷‍♀️

I voted for Trump. I voted for mass deportations.

Do I like that this guy got killed? No, he seems like he didn’t really do anything (unlike Renee).

But I fully expect deportations to continue. I hope that the National Guard will be called to ensure public safety. No reason for that shooting to have happened.

Protestors should not be allowed within a certain distance of ICE, because it’s clearly not safe.

Or maybe ICE should be the ones who have to stay away as they're the ones who are clearly the threat.

Yes, they are being targeted because they REFUSE TO LEAVE.

ICE needs to be left alone to do their job.

Unlike with Renee Good (who did put an ICE agent at risk) it seems that there was no reason to shoot. I don’t celebrate this, but we need to ensure public safety. I think the National Guard should be called in, because of course ICE cannot do their job under these conditions (though I believe it was Border Patrol in this case)

If your response to this is ‘Stop Ice’ I can’t take you seriously. If your idea is ‘how can ICE do better?’ then I’m all ears.

A good place to start is by hitting employers and landlords.

You are a piece of work.

We should not leave them "alone to do their job" when they are doing it using illegal means.

Why not answer what i actually said? you can't. Because you know that following the rule of law is what is required here.
Not state sanctioned terrorism.

Your assertion that Renee Good put an agent in danger is utter bullshit, as you know from the various accounts of the incident. Including the ME who have now issued their report.

We both agree that immigration and illegal activity needs to be brought under control. But do we agree that an unaccountable, anonomyous miliitia should be rampaging around ignoring the law? I don't. You apparently think this is ok.

I go on a lot of protests. I know the score. But when they come for you? i will stand aside and let them have you. (theoretically)

CandidLurker · 25/01/2026 11:14

I didn’t count how many men were trying to bring this man down to the ground but I think a few British bobbies would have managed it easily without resorting to lethal force. Also with Renee Good they had her number plate so if they’d wanted to charge her with a crime they could have just gone to her house and arrested her later. So the objective seems to be different.

So imagine Reform win the election and Farage sets up snatch squads on the streets of the uk. Turns a blind eye to courts, appeals, judges, human rights act, etc and just puts people in deportation centres and then onto flights out the uk.

I imagine there would be quite a few people in this country who would be delighted. They’d initially say oh well they shouldn’t be here illegally. And then anyone who looked like they might be from another country starts getting stopped in the street and then suddenly a few more people start complaining.

I never thought what we are seeing in the USA could happen in a civilised country so am now concerned it could happen here. I’m so upset at the deaths and stories like that 5yo boy who has been put in a detention centre, Snatched out his garden on the way home from school.

Farage won't get anywhere near winning. Too many reasonable people who will tactically vote to keep them out.

Facism has never taken hold in the UK and I think that the UK would have to do a complete turnaround for it to do so now.

Reform is already waning, and Farages meals mouthed lack of condemnation for Trumps insulting our troops, our war dead and our injured can fuck off. He can also take his party of washed up tories that were part of the tory government robbing the country blind with him.

ICE are there to enforce federal immigration law. It doesn’t matter if Minnesotans (actually, just people in St Paul/Minneapolis) don’t want it enforced, it’s not up to them.

And if they want to protest, they can do so at federal buildings, organize marches and demonstrations with permits.

But they need to leave ICE agents alone. It’s not safe for them to protest during enforcement procedures

Hi Stephen Miller 👋👋

Brefugee · 25/01/2026 11:18

oh my god you are like a broken record.

Yes immigration needs to be controlled
Yes it falls under the purview of ICE

they should be doing it in line with the law which requires them to be identifiable and not use lethal force willy nilly.

Don't know what you are on about

John McCain died in 2018 and Obama was pictured in mask many times. To my knowledge neither "beat up migrants".

Ironic that I made a point that politicians used to respect each other and you responded by defaming a dead man for cheap point scoring

expatme · 25/01/2026 11:20

2021x · 25/01/2026 08:37

Yes you are right it is a challenge, but Trump only has 2 speeds "off" or "full blast". That is why we have to be careful about jumping to any conclusions because there will be a point where they do tell the truth and then it makes everyone question themselves.

I used "normal guy whipped up by the internet" as a way of describing why someone would be at a protest where there are law-enforcement officers who could use lethal force as oppose to thinking they were a domestic terroist.

So, give Trump the benefit of the doubt in case he doesn't lie is a pretty weird way to approach someone who demonstrably and provably lies every time he opens his mouth.

Shakeoffyourchains · 25/01/2026 11:20

Greenmouldycheese · 25/01/2026 11:07

Whatever. It still fact that the majority voted Trump in and thats that.

Majority: noun. More than half (50%) of a total number or amount.

(77,000,000 ÷ 174,00,000) × 100% = 44.25%.

Oh...

Donttellempike · 25/01/2026 11:20

thepariscrimefiles · 25/01/2026 10:54

Because it's a majority Democrat state. There are far more migrants in Texas and Florida but they are Republican states where the majority support Trump and his government.

Pam Bondi has said that if Minnesota hands over its vote database to Trump, she will remove ICE from their state. Trump and his administration want to subvert and steal the next elections and this is one of the ways that they are doing it.

This 💯

They are following the rule of law. We voted for mass deportations, our Congress voted for fund them.

ICE is of course allowed to detain illegal immigrants. How else are you going to deport them?

We have financial incentives to get them to leave, but if they won’t? What then?

I say go after employers and landlords, aggressively deny access to public funds. It’s an effective tool that has not been used as much as it should have.

Brefugee · 25/01/2026 11:21

Farage won't get anywhere near winning. Too many reasonable people who will tactically vote to keep them out.

famous last words.

In Germany we are trying to get the (far right) Afd party banned. The government is being all pathetic and saying "no"

But this is the same fucking country where the Nazis weren't banned in the name of democracy.

So i wouldn't be complacent if i were in any other country. I would be doing all i could to preserve democracy and the rule of law.

As for people like @RingoJuice i hope someone comes for them one day, that they feel the terror. Because there is no way to get it through to some people unless they experience it themselves.

Fucking hell. How deep in a pit of inhumanity do you have to be to divide the murder of people - someone's mum - someone's child - into those you 'like' or you 'don't like?'

I so hope you are right! I used to think the same, that this country was better than that, but that was until I saw how much support reform were getting and the mental gymnastics some people will do to justify their continued support of him no matter what.

People also have very short memories, they seem to have forgotten very quickly how bad the Tories were for 14 years already, and who gave us Brexit, so it’s a bit of a worry that they won’t lose enough support, but here’s hoping with every fibre of my being 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Freedom of Assembly is protected under the US Constitution.

You aren’t allowed to obstruct federal agents however.

They can assemble somewhere else, perhaps a federal building.

We went through this with pro-lifers, and we jailed some. You can understand why! Their objections do not outweigh the public interest
