Where is it?

Will they even do one?

Has anyone changed their initial viewpoint on the whole thing?

And lastly….Team Brooklyn or Team Beckham?

I find it strange that so many people are either one side or the other in this very sad family fall out.
There are 2 sides to every story and truly we dont know the truth of it.
Brooklyn side: My parents are horrible to me and my wife (with a long list of complaints that are disputable and some are petty ie: the dog charity issue)
Some more serious ie: inappropriate dancing, awful exploited childhood and being controlled)
The Beckhams: Personally silent when accused of some heinous things publicly by their son. PR briefings may be true as that does seem feasible in the world they live in.
My take is BB seems vulnerable and i think he has been badly advised by his wife's very litigious family (seeing the suing of the wedding planners and dog groomers was an eye opener)
I think he would have been better advised to seek therapy to deal with his issues as i dont think complaining publicly will achieve the peace and privacy he says he is seeking.
The BB are probably not blameless in this, but to be accused publicly of so much wrongdoing (a mother accused publicly of inappropriate "dancing on" must be devastating ) I thought it interesting the one of the other sons called BB a liar regarding the blocking issue.
Does money make this any less painful for any of them? No.
Does money have an effect on wether people feel able to bad mouth others with impunity ,yes. Ironically, the extreme wealth as these families have makes getting wise counsel more difficult. No one says no to them or gives them the truth.
The Beckhams look devastated as anyone would be in this situation.
BB is clearly vulnerable and i hope he has support .Nicola also seems to be struggling and needs psychological help.
Sadly, we haven't heard the end of this sorry situation.
I hope they all get mental health support because these deeply emotionally painful family dynamics can end very badly.
Why are we all so interested?
I think because elements of this story resonate with us all in family dynamics despite the enormous wealth and privilege of the peltz beckham families.

I admire VB’s professional & personal confidence & her tenacity.

It's powerful if you discount the few unnecessary examples about the dance, the dress. He weakened it with those, he should have stuck to his own point of view.

He is saying that as a child he was exposed too much to the media, that is a fact. His sister is going through the same thing right now, they've not learned. He says he suffers from anxiety, who could blame him there. That it's all about the brand, doesn't look like he's wrong there, see yesterday's pap walk in France.

I really think it's disgusting how some of VB's fans tried to push her music as a show of support. Absolute bullying from grown adults.

'I really think it's disgusting how some of VB's fans tried to push her music as a show of support. Absolute bullying from grown adults.'

I don't think that people were streaming VB's song to spite her son. I think they genuinely wanted to show her their support. Quite honestly, the world needs much more of this.

Their son, of course, has every right to cut contact with his parents. But I feel that some sympathy was lost due to aspects of his Instagram statement which were unnecessarily cruel and personal and no doubt extremely hurtful for his family.

But what message was that sending to her son? Basically that his feelings were rubbish.

As a PP said, there are two sides to this and people are hurting. I do think it's unforgiveable how the Beckham's have exposed their kids from day one. Look at their daughter in yesterday's pap walk, is that really good for her, I don't think so, she's barely a teenager, not a fully grown consenting adult.

Is there any reason why she's not in school.

ImSweetEnough · 27/01/2026 13:28

@VanessaSanessa The message it sends to VB's son is that people wish to show their support to her at time when she is clearly going to be feeling extremely hurt. He has grown up knowing how popular his mother is so it shouldn't really come as a surprise. If he loves her (which I am sure he does) then he would be pleased that people have come out to show they care. How can that ever be a bad thing?

People who have shown her their support in this (or any other) way are not necessarily taking sides (some are but not all). I think they feel that some of the words in his statement were cruel and unnecessary and they can empathise with how hurt she must feel. He should have kept the bit where he really stuck the knife in and attempted to humiliate her (the dancing 'on' him, the 'hijacking' of the first wedding dance) for the heat of a personal family converation. It wasn't fair on her.

Most grown-ups appreciate that there are obviously 2 sides to this and he feels hurt, too. But showing support and empathy to a mother who is obviously feeling very hurt by her child's words cannot ever be a bad thing.

Would they really be bothered with a thread on Mumsnet?

Yes! Read Tom Bowers book - they as a brand are obsessed with their public persona .They employ people who pore over this sort of stuff. Popbitch say they had people reading all their posts ready to sue if necessary.

But they’ve only exposed Harper to a point as such, the same with their older children. Mostly it’s walking to/from cars on public occasions (going to awards/fashion shows/celebration dinners and the odd at home shot. We have no idea where she currently attends school or her previous schools. We don’t know who her friends are or where she goes with her friends. We don’t know anything about her hobbies or interests or her school subjects. There are no photos of her in school uniform or sports days or school concerts, etc. There were no photos of her taken en-route to Paris, I don’t think I’ve ever see photos taken of her outside her home getting into cars or walking down the street.

HRTQueen · 27/01/2026 15:15

Harper posted a make up tutorial using her mums make up brand

If you think that was all her own doing you really are taken in by all their pr of being just a happy family that happen to run a company and happen to have a lot of unwanted press attention

GarlicSound · 27/01/2026 16:47

A lot of you seem to see the Beckhams the same as those 'influencers' who monetise their DC for sponsored content. They are not. They're high profile because the public's been fascinated by them since before they met, they have leveraged that interest to further their personal careers since then.

These careers actually exist, unlike the influencers whose families are their careers. Because V & D have always been famous, there's always been avid interest in their children. They seem to manage this the same way other famous people manage media and public curiosity: permitted drip-feeds and photo opps, conditional on leaving the children alone at other times.

I'm sure it must be weird and, often, horrible to see your parents in the media all the time with non-stop random speculation about them. It must be hard to deal with the inevitable bullying and toadying from other kids and adults. The photo opps must be a pain in the arse, especially during the teen years when you really care about how and when the world sees you.

But they have never been followed by cameras recording their daily lives, their parents have never invited commentary on them. They've never been offered up as fodder for followers, as influencer children are.

Personally, I’m not taken in my their PR as I don’t pay a huge amount of attention to them. I just know, besides from events such as I mentioned above, I have not seen photographs or read reports about them as as they go about their day to day lives, especially while they were in school.

Lots of girls her age do TikTok make-up tutorials and I had no idea that she did a tutorial on her mum’s webpage - but does it over expose Harper ? How many of us would have said to our 14 yo, if we were in their position, will I post this on my Instagram ?

None of us really know what we’d do if we had their level of fame and money. You can be sure most of us would spoil our children materially. Have we ever seen any photos or are there any articles written about their children falling out of clubs drunk or taking drugs or being unruly ? They seem well mannered and just living their very privileged lives. I’m sure none of them actually mind turning up for a handful of events a year where they will be photographed en-masse, because have a very nice lifestyle because if it.

NeelyOHara · 27/01/2026 18:52

I see more parading about of the show ponies in Paris, I guess no allowance if you don’t turn up for the photos!
No school for Harper as per usual, dressed like a 30 year old.

I’ve got that book waiting on my Kindle! I know they would be trying to manage the narrative on social media and in the press, but I guess I didn’t know that something like mumsnet would be of interest to them.

Harper has to model her mum's nighties and one of the son's has one of her bags. All part of a day's work for them.

All looking suitably glum for the paps!

Oh well that’s ok then so long as it’s only getting dressed up and parading around for the paps at fashion shows, premieres etc… 🤨

Actually I think you’ll also find their socials were stuffed full of the kids from a very young age also doing ‘ordinary’ things.. Harper doing her homework at their kitchen table, playing in the garden, cooking, kicking a football about…

it’s disgusting the way they’ve exposed their children.

NeelyOHara · 28/01/2026 07:00

Don’t forget how they’ve pushed careers on Harper, and told the press how amazingly talented they are, - just like the others. So far she’s been going to be a horse rider, a ballerina, and now a beauty influencer…..

But no! They don’t use their kids for publicity at all. As long as everyone ignores their eyes and ears over the last 25 years then rabid Beckham fans and their PR fans will just keep insisting this.

If you didn't click on @FinloCorrin's link to the Times, here's a bit about Peltz weaving his 10 DC into the family business. It's a different milieu, sure, but he definitely does:-

Nelson has encouraged some of his children to work in his business, Trian Partners, which he co-founded with the husband of Brooke, his daughter by his previous marriage.

It’s very much a family affair,” said one executive who had dealings with Trian. “You go for meetings at his home in Florida and he brings them all out to meet you. It’s like: here’s my son, here’s my daughter. It was odd.

His Yale-educated son, Matt, 41, worked for Goldman Sachs before joining the family firm, rising to be partner. He now works for a subsidiary specialising in smaller companies. Diesel, 31, also worked in the firm although is now said to be mostly interested in tech companies. Neither are expected to take over the business. One board member in a multibillion company under siege by Trian recalled how Nelson would bring Diesel into high-level meetings. “The kid was, like, twentysomething. It was: ‘What’s he doing here?’”

Nicola frequently posts doting photographs of her father on social media, declaring her love for him.

Brooklyn almost can’t fail with his mentorship & £.

Brooklyn described Nicola as the hardest working woman I know - serious question, what does she do?

😂 She's a World Famous Actress, as Nelson keeps telling everybody.

She directed and starred in the universally panned 2024 film Lola, about a cocaine-addicted stripper.

Lol. Does she really have career ambition? I think a million bucks allowance a month for years might dull it a bit for me. How can anyone spend so much. The last 4 years, that some say were only for publicity BB would bring, have brought forth…what on work front?

Nelson might feel he can call tune a bit (?) given above.

According to some of her estranged friends, she has burning fame ambition. It might amount to the same thing in LA, I don't know.

She attended a preparatory school for the stage and has been working with coach Nancy Banks since the age of 15. Banks has trained loads of big-name Oscar winners. Nicola does seem to take her acting seriously. She's very good at ... looking pretty on camera. It must be a challenge to imagine yourself into characters' lives when all you've known is the inside of a padded bubble.

Nelson's fixation on familial ice hockey might've been intended to promote hardiness. Nicola says growing up with 7 brothers made her tough, then explains she means straight-talking. Or straight not-talking, if her ex-friends are anything to go by.
