I know anyone can join and that's fair enough, I'm not actually trying to impose my wish on anyone or the site but it still always annoys me when I am reading thought a thread where a woman is posting for advice from other women and a man pops up saying "speaking as a man" or "from a blokes perspective" I always want to say I'm not interested in what you think right now, there is a whole world of "men's opinions" shoved down our throats from the time we are little girls and all though our lives on every aspect of our bodies, what we do and think. I'd love just one space like this with lots of women without it having men interject and that is before we even get to the men who pitch up looking for permission to have affairs or get their jollies from dubious posts.

It's not the men who actually say they are a man that annoy me.

It's the men who post extremely unsympathetic and misogynistic advice on threads without revealing they are men that i think are quite frankly dangerous.

They undermine the OP and give unwoman friendly advice while in effect masquerading as a woman.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 20/01/2026 14:09

I have no issue with men using this site at all. As long as they aren't misogynistic twats, they're more than welcome.

raspberrychoc · 20/01/2026 14:10

@Placetobreathe Yes absolutely, its difficult to know for sure but so often I've thought that can't possibly be an actual woman posting that.

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 20/01/2026 14:10

Completely agree, I wish they'd all bugger off. Let women have ONE online space.

hmm
i have thought this

there have been a few men who have been pretty normal here though

but I mostly agree - largely a terrible gender that lot

the worst ones though, by a mile, are those who try to get women to pile onto their wives for not being good enough!!!! That enrages me

BettyRizzoSlaps · 20/01/2026 14:12

Couldn't agree more. I know it's 'parents' and all that, but they've got literally everywhere else to spread out, and they do. I hate them being here.

Upstartled · 20/01/2026 14:12

I'd just be happy to jettison ai content and trolls at this point.

Overtheatlantic · 20/01/2026 14:12

With the exception of PigletJohn, I agree.

Peoplemakemedespair · 20/01/2026 14:12

It’s a bit of a hobby on here for me to click on the previous posts of any man commenting on any subject relating to sex. I’m looking to see how many of their posts are sex related. Some times it’s literally all of them. I’ve never spotted a woman on here where every one of her posts are about sex stuff

Morepositivemum · 20/01/2026 14:12

They don’t pop up that often do they? And it’s interesting hearing their perspective sometimes! I’ve actually come across very few mean men on here, more mean women!!!

When they’re not being mean, they’re often trolling for sex!

Robertplantgoddess · 20/01/2026 14:13

Just came on to say the same- if it says - speaking like a man- then you know what you're getting. Ignore or whatever but lately some threads let alone answers seem dubious at best.
I think it's ok to have men on here - i can see the argument both ways but my inner belief is no good ever comes from barring people- they will just find another way.

ASeatNextToMe · 20/01/2026 14:13

I have no time for the ones that hang around the sex board or on threads on the relationship board that involve sex. Also the ones that only come on to chat with us about their wife not wanting sex. It son becomes obvious why their wife doesn’t want sex with them. And the ones that come on to tell us NAMALT… 🥱

There have been loads of men caught out for pretending to be women on the sex board. 🤢

That's not fair, they often post in Relationships too.

...to whine about not getting enough sex

PeopleTheyAintNoGood · 20/01/2026 14:14

Some are supportive and helpful. Some do bring good knowledge, ie pigletjohn and some lawyers, but yanbu. Some are awful and as per pp, I really dislike the ones that post on Relationships etc, with a really bad hidden agenda.

Sometimes you get to know their posting style, and realise, so can ignore, but often the op doesn't, and it can really change the help or tone of a thread.

Thats why it isn't a genuine request, more of a wish that I know won't come to pass.

Sorry, PigletJohn and VimesandhisCardboardBoots are two great examples of men I like seeing posts from. There’s one with dad in his username as well and a couple of other decent blokes on here who add to conversations. The fake ones pretending to be women, on the other hand… 🤬

Morepositivemum · 20/01/2026 14:14

Never seen that and I’m here 10 years!!! Though I don’t go onto the sex topics and not relationships often

eta that was for mumofoneAloneandwell

WSCamp · 20/01/2026 14:15

I don't mind men posting at all. It is annoying when they preface their post with "man here!" or similar- who cares? Anyone could be anyone on here so it's the content of the post that counts.

Upstartled · 20/01/2026 14:15

Wasn't there a rumour once that PigletJohn was Sarah Beeny?

There is one with dad in his username that is fucking awful.

Yes agreed. You can often immediately tell the man on the thread as its often a cold, unsympathetic and often covertly sexist response. And agree that it's good to know that they are men rather than thinking a woman has this view, which is the assumed sex on this forum unless said otherwise.

Most of those are probably just women with different ideas to you being called men for that simple crime 🤷‍♀️
