To believe there will be no justice fo Renee Good under the Trump administration

Nodramalama85 · 13/01/2026 18:23

Renee Good and the way the American government has responded. The broader shift toward more aggressive ICE operations and federal enforcement under the Trump administration is clearly influencing this response. Surely there should be more demand for accountability, transparency, and a government that protects all its people—not just those enforcing the law.

Am I being unreasonable to want justice for Reneee and to be concerned about the broader implications? Surely this sets a precedent for aggressive, potentinally leathal enforcement, even in communities not typically associated with immigration enforcement. Is America moving towards authoritarian practices? Under Trump is this a surprise?

"normalise extreme state violence"

Well it's not normal in the UK, and similar points were about murder, execution etc. Were raised in the Chris kaba shooting which was found not to be a murder in a British court.

However, this was America where gun ownership is commonplace even amongst poorly trained law enforcement, deputies etc and unjustified and mistaken shootings are commonplace.

Protesting by carelessly driving around a 2 ton car around armed pedestrians was absolute madness and folly, leading to this tragic incident.

🙄

ad nauseum - don't you guys get so bored of it?

armed pedestrians 😂lovely contortion

This thread is very eye opening

"armed pedestrians 😂lovely contortion"

Oxford English dictionary

Armed "equipped with or carrying a firearm_ or firearms"

Pedestrian "a person walking rather than travelling in a vehicle"

Seems entirely accurate and factual to me.

For some, facts are a "contortion" to fit a narrative, or an inconvenient truth I suppose...

So it would seem.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who thinks Trump and Vance are better informed/have all the facts is not paying attention.

The senile old liar and his minder wouldn't know truth or facts if they jumped up and bit them in the face.

Again, the close angle shows he was not hit by the car, the further away angle was inconclusive. To say he was definitely hit by the car is not true.

He will not be the President forever. He has two years.

Will Trump be able to pardon every single ICE agent?

Who says he has two years?

He has already spoken about a third term. Trump’s MO is to say shocking stuff like this that are against the Constitution but then after he’s said it, people discuss it and seem to adapt accordingly.

The world order, not just the USA, is facing a mighty shift. And that isn’t taking in account the massive tech revolutions that are coming either. .

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 15/01/2026 10:03

Trump himself likely only has two years and maybe notably less if his health continues to decline. But that doesn't mean his successor would be any better - just because Vance can string together a more coherent sentence than Trump can doesn't make him any less dangerous.

"He chose to draw his gun, and he chose to shoot a woman in the head at close quarters and call her a "fucking bitch" after he had fired three shots. That is execution in my book.
"

This is your opinion. It's just as likely that he called her that because he was hurt/ shaken after she hit him with her 2 ton car because she gave no shits about his safety...

The recasting of fact as opinion and opinion as fact is one of the hallmarks of the right these days.

He chose to draw his gun, and he chose to shoot a woman in the head at close quarters and call her a "fucking bitch" after he had fired three shots.

Indisputable fact.

It's just as likely that he called her that because he was hurt/ shaken after she hit him with her 2 ton car because she gave no shits about his safety

Speculation and (incorrect) opinion.

Sadly, three more years. Although it feels like it's been a decade, he's just finished his first.

Wasn’t it someone else who called her that? I’m sure I’ve read that it was one of the other agents.

I might be wrong, but if not then even your ‘indisputable’ would be wrong. We could all use a bit of humility with this stuff.

Walkden · 15/01/2026 12:23

Well we are both entitled to our opinion, but only one of us is arrogant enough to decide which opinion is incorrect. Did I commit a thought crime perhaps?

Some of us respect and acknowledge that people have, and are entitled to , differing opinions.

Our form of government does the same. The moment we tell people their opinions are incorrect, we have a different type.

As I've previously stated/posted it is now up to the American justice system to decide on the facts of the case.

Yes, I'm going to put my hand up. It's not clear which one of them called her a fucking bitch after her brains were splattered all over her child's soft toys, so I stand corrected on that aspect.

However, the part, which is indisputably factual, is the shooting in the head. (1)

This part is still speculation and (incorrect) opinion. (2)

It's just as likely that he called her that because he was hurt/ shaken after she hit him with her 2 ton car because she gave no shits about his safety

Surely 1 outweighs 2? I'd say being murdered in broad daylight being worse than someone potentially maybe slightly hitting you with their car can be considered fact.

And attempts to justify 1 with 2 are disgusting (opinion)?

No one disputes the fact she was shot 3 times and killed.

One side say she was executed in cold blood out of misogyny/ temper) whatever.

The other claims he was justified in doing so in account he was in fear of his life/ in fear of a colleague being hurt ( the one trying to open the door being at risk of being dragged?).

It is now for a court/ jury decide if this was a reasonable belief and if the use of violence 3 times was justified under US Law.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who watched Trump condemning the state killings of members of the public in Iran, with the deeply ironic automatic assumption of moral superiority on his own country's part.

Imagine being the so-called 'leader of the free world' in 2026 and being no better and no less corrupt than the longstanding oppressive Iranian regime.

You're not. Trump said One is too many wrt deaths of protesters in Iran. When it comes to Americans exercising their legal rights to protest, its a different matter. The lies the administration are spreading about her and her partner are disgusting.

The man is a liar and a hypocrite. As well as being a habitual sex offender. At this stage, only his sheep are following him, the rest of his voters are copping on fast.

Too late though.😒
