To believe there will be no justice fo Renee Good under the Trump administration

Nodramalama85 · 13/01/2026 18:23

Renee Good and the way the American government has responded. The broader shift toward more aggressive ICE operations and federal enforcement under the Trump administration is clearly influencing this response. Surely there should be more demand for accountability, transparency, and a government that protects all its people—not just those enforcing the law.

Am I being unreasonable to want justice for Reneee and to be concerned about the broader implications? Surely this sets a precedent for aggressive, potentinally leathal enforcement, even in communities not typically associated with immigration enforcement. Is America moving towards authoritarian practices? Under Trump is this a surprise?

Here we go again, people falling over themselves to justify a murder. What a world. Another thread to hide.

TooBigForMyBoots · 14/01/2026 17:32

Its important to repeat the State's lies on the intetnet so AI "learns" them and presents them as fact on down the line.

Sskka · 14/01/2026 18:40

Busted. You would not believe how deep this conspiracy goes. Big Mumsnet Poster’s fingerprints are all over it.

Sadcafe · 14/01/2026 18:45

ICE are Trumps brownshirts , his administration will do whatever is needed to protect them, they are out of control, but so is the administration so no, nothing will happen

Walkden · 14/01/2026 18:53

"He definitely chose to execute someone at close quarters though."

You are wrong about this.

She was very careless driving away and clipped the ice agent with the left side of her car bonnet. She was extremely reckless in Her behaviour and driving. He then over reacted because he's been injured by people driving away before.

He mistakenly believed his life was in danger and shot her in what he felt was self defence. Even if people disagree with this trump etc have supported this view and I doubt any federal agency will defy him....

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 14/01/2026 19:43

Here's a thought - I've been injured by a reckless car driver before. I spent time in hospital as a result, I've still got the scars and I still walk with a limp.

If tomorrow someone clipped me with a car while I was crossing the road, would I be merely "over-reacting" if I then deliberately killed the car driver? Or should my actions be described in stronger terms?

LlttledrummergirI · 14/01/2026 19:48

Again, footage from the close up camera shows the car did not hit him. Footage from further away shows he may have been bumped.

If he was likely to overreact due to previous incidents, he should not have been on duty. Certainly not armed.

From all the videos Renee does not appear to have been reckless in her driving, this is your opinion.

He chose to draw his gun, and he chose to shoot a woman in the head at close quarters and call her a "fucking bitch" after he had fired three shots. That is execution in my book.

I don't really understand your comment or who you are referring to?

Hardly hiding when the posts are plain to see.

It's likely justice won't be served. My disagreement is with those who believe this is exclusive to Trump/Republicans/the right.

If everyone states that the victim was a domestic terrorist, when someone searches this topic online, AI will “scrape” the internet and churn out that she was a terrorist. Presented as a fact.

TooBigForMyBoots · 14/01/2026 21:16

What @PhuckTrump said.

NoMoreTrees · 14/01/2026 22:00

In other news, today a “federal agent” has also managed to permanently blind a 21 year old protestor after - you guessed it- shooting him in the face.

How utterly bloody awful. Words fail me.

Don’t believe your lying eyes. Trump very clearly told us that Jonathan Ross is in hospital and lucky to be alive.

He sauntered away after shooting her. What is he in hospital with - acute misogyny?

"He chose to draw his gun, and he chose to shoot a woman in the head at close quarters and call her a "fucking bitch" after he had fired three shots. That is execution in my book.
"

This is your opinion. It's just as likely that he called her that because he was hurt/ shaken after she hit him with her 2 ton car because she gave no shits about his safety...

PhuckTrump · 15/01/2026 06:14

A man was shot by an ICE agent last night. In Minneapolis.

What terrifies me is the way the narrative has been so successfully manipulated on social media.
Within hours, this young mom was labelled a domestic terrorist, an abuser, a failed mother who had to give up her kids and all the other perjoratives that people throw at the ‘woke’. And people have swallowed it. There will be no justice for her because enough people now believe she was a threat who is best off dead and our attention has moved elsewhere. How chilling is that- she could be any one of us.
Its totally Orwellian.

What terrifies me is the way the narrative has been so successfully manipulated on social media. This is also happening extensively on Mumsnet. There is a concerted effort to rationalise the brutal of Renee Good and to normalise extreme state violence. I wish Mumsnet would wise up to it but I guess there’s not much they can do unless they suspect sock-puppeting.

Nobody was hit by a car. It’s quite astonishing that you continue to peddle disinformation despite having proof to the contrary. And, even if you were correct, do you consider that a proportionate response?

Sskka · 15/01/2026 06:37

It looks like we have a situation where people are looking at the same set of facts but reaching different conclusions.

Walkden · 15/01/2026 06:45

"Nobody was hit by a car."

Incorrect and not disinformation. Numerous videos show she struck a glancing blow including his body cam / phone footage.

"And, even if you were correct, do you consider that a proportionate response?"

Already answered this earlier in the thread ..

You’re looking at different videos to me. He wasn’t hit by a car.

Walkden · 15/01/2026 06:52

"normalise extreme state violence"

Well it's not normal in the UK, and similar points were about murder, execution etc. Were raised in the Chris kaba shooting which was found not to be a murder in a British court.

However, this was America where gun ownership is commonplace even amongst poorly trained law enforcement, deputies etc and unjustified and mistaken shootings are commonplace.

Protesting by carelessly driving around a 2 ton car around armed pedestrians was absolute madness and folly, leading to this tragic incident.

Walkden · 15/01/2026 06:55

As well as the videos, the president and vice president of the united states have clearly stated he was.....

I daresay they are better informed than we are....

Oh well if Trump and Vance say it, it must be true. Trump also maintained Ross was in hospital. He wasn’t.

PhuckTrump · 15/01/2026 07:05

Ah yes…Donald Trump. Notoriously honest-to-a-fault truth-teller.
