DH going to the gym on Christmas Day!

For about 1.5 hours mid morning. A couple of his mates usually go and have roped him in.

He is into his fitness but surely people can give it a miss for one bloody day?!

I don’t see the issue at all, my partner is exactly the same, makes no odds to me I can crack on with what I want to do and for over an hour what’s the harm, unless of course it is when you will be having Xmas dinner and he won’t be there but other than that I wouldn’t have an issue, xx

Do you know the significance of doing exercise on Christmas day as opposed to waking up hung over and having hair of the dog..... Encourage this don't challenge it.

I'm not a great one for Christmas but we do try and make Christmas day special and have our own family traditions on that day.

I think it's sad that your H prefers to go off with his pals an do an activity he does regularly throughout the year rather than spend the day with you.

It sounds as though you don't count for very much in the pecking order if his friends and the gym are more important to him than you on Christmas day

It a couple of hours out of a 24 hour day - hardly much. Going to the gym wouldn’t be for me but I can happily ignore my family watching a film for that moving on Christmas Day!

It's not just any old day. It's Christmas day. And he has a small child.
If can't spend one day to his wife and child then he can't think very much of them.
From what OP says he goes to the gym every other day and yet on the one day of the year when his family have every right to expect him to be interested in them he can't do without going to the gym to see his pals?

Lots of people work out on Christmas day. I'm a PT and I used to work for pure gym and it was not quiet on Christmas day or new year.

If someone had a "side chick" as someone put it - they could sneak out to see them any other day of the week and claim they were working out

I loved my run on xmas morning, DH enjoyed his gym trip once I arrived home, and our young kids benefiited from 2 happy parents all day Grin
