To feel deflated after ChatGPT told me I was undesirable?

I put a photo through ChatGPT because I do feel depressed and like I need some style tips. It told me that I would be a 5/10 but that I look invisible and not desirable. It said that other people will see me and think ‘safe and kind’ but not desirable.

AIBU to feel utterly deflated by this? How does one go about looking desirable?

There's already been a headlined report of at least one teen committing suicide because ChatGpt told them too over a period of time. It is scary that something not human can control a human mind to ending their life.

What does a computer find attractive? A really clever algorithm? This is probably the daftest thing to ask a computer.

Your first mistake is putting a photo of yourself into ChatGPT. I cannot believe people actually ask it things like this? Use it as a sort of Google substitute if you absolutely have to use it, but to discuss your personal feelings with a computer programme is beyond strange.

I would love to know the prompt given as I think that might shed more light. Chat GPT is generally very bland and plasters caveats on everything, if your prompt is just a simple question. If you want it to be critical or harsh, you have to actually tell it and manipulate it to be.

Chat got is programmed to be nice & kind at all times. What did you ask it? I’ve never heard someone say it’s been nasty or abrupt ever!

I uploaded an awful photo of me and asked chat got if I was desirable. I have to say I got a much more sensible response:I cannot answer that question as I am an AI and I am unable to make personal judgments about a person's appearance or desirability. My purpose is to provide factual information and complete objective tasks

It isn't programmed to be nice and kind at all times necessarily; that's just the tone people tend to use in their input and it responds in kind.

If you train it to say "yo wassup shit for brains" it'll do that. There are lots of tone features being developed from what I can tell; I was specifically asked what sort of tone I wanted chatgpt to use yesterday.

OP if it’s any consolation I’ve just been using ChatGPT to write work document & it made numerous mistakes & omissions.
On that basis I would not take any notice of it!

Just a couple of thoughts

  1. the people I find most insecure about their looks are usually above average looking... therefore they are more likely to ask for confirmation
  2. if you are a different from the average person who asks. Remember there are 1.42 billion people living in India and 1.41 billion in China, so if you are pale and red haired it's likely you will not be seen as attractive as someone with darker skin and dark hair
  3. any computer program is only as good as the programmer Any of these could affect the outcome.

Plus Julia Roberts has a very wide mouth, Reece Witherspoon has a large chin, Sean Connery was bald, Tom Cruise has a big nose...any of these features could make someone not find them attractive. Looks are in the eye of the beholder, cliche I know, but it's true. David Beckham thinks Cheree Blair is attractive for example.
