To be upset by this in a friends group chat?

I’m well aware that this will sound silly, but here goes.

i’m in a group chat with some other women of a similar age as me. We all met because we are fans of a sport. Last weekend that sport concluded and the competitor that I’m not a huge fan of won. No big deal, I’m an adult and I can cope with it.

One member of the group chat was @ ing me through the entire day, basically asking if I was really annoyed, am I pissed off etc etc and just being a bit weird.

i said no not really and left it at that. I went onto the shared document we have of addresses in preparation to send my Christmas cards and I can see that this person has now added comments to my address. It’s my name then (stinks) and under my address they’ve put shithole. From the edit history I can see that this was done by the member who was acting strangely last weekend and was done on the day of the last race.

AIBU to think this is weird behaviour and also a little upsetting? We’re all adults and it just seems strange.

Screenshots and "@... were you drunk 😂😂" in the group.

I’d just screen shot it all and put it on the group chat without much comment. Maybe just add ‘?’

Yep, that's exactly how I understood your response. That poster suggesting "no not really" was somehow odd or ambiguous is being really weird.

I’d take a screen shot post it in the group and put something along the lines of “ just checking in that you are ok sally as it’s quite a bat shit unhinged thing to do, are you ok” she obviously don’t know that it shows it’s her that’s done it

I’ve sent the screenshots with an “@ X do you care to explain”, plus the screenshots of the editing date

YABU for thinking that F1 is in any way interesting. Other than that, of course YANBU and I would not be sending the offender a Xmas card.

She sounds like an idiot. The sport I follow concluded last weekend too, my team didn’t take the title but happy it went to a Brit for a change. We support different teams in our house alone and all manage to watch together just fine!

I could see me adopting this approach to be honest... 😁

I would just change it back and not say anything. They are obviously wanting a bit of attention don’t give them the satisfaction.

She’s come back and basically said that it was a “big day for her” and I “put a dampener on spirits” because i wasn’t bursting with joy.

essentially a very weird individual who apparently thinks it was a personal thing for her!
