Maybe calm down and realise that the majority of comments are out of concern? Not just for Ariana and Cynthia but for any vulnerable young women who see them as role models and may try to achieve the same look.

There’s something really self-conscious and performative about the way they behave together! I’ve seen about a dozen different clips of them that are plain odd (throwing their hands to their hearts, fussing over each other, gripping each other’s hands in situations that really don’t warrant it, using very intense emotional words to gush about very humdrum things etc). It feels off because most of us can see through it and recognise how false and affected their behaviour is. That said, I find it fascinating to observe them! It’s like a masterclass in luvvie self-absorption.

Jesus what a fuss over a woman fixing another woman’s necklace. The whole press tour was staged to be those two main characters having an amazing bond and isn’t the film just so special and magical and a dream come true for us both etc. It’s pure publicity. Potential EDs aside…this is clearly part of the whole schtick and really doesn’t need psychoanalysis.

Cynthia is incredibly talented and one award away from the full EGOT (She's won the Emmy, Grammy and Tony and has 2 Oscar nominations) but some Mumsnetters claim they've never heard of her. Fingers on the pulse of the zeitgeist, as usual!

Manchester really impacted on an already fragile Ariana Grande, she is very talented, I'm not a fan but her voice is amazing, unique.
She had bouts of depression, dealing with the stresses of a childhood actress before the tragedy in Manchester, who knows what she went through as a child star, the trauma of Manchester would never leave you.

Yes, Zeitgeist isn’t my thing. I couldn’t actually tell you anything Ariane Grand sang, and I’ve never heard of the EGOT.

Loads of people don’t follow stuff like that but still see odd videos in passing that catch their attention. It doesn’t make them racist, or unable to be concerned about them.

I don't have a clue who she is - well obviously I now know from this thread she was in Wicked (one of the worst films I've had to endure with my DC).
I am aware of Ariana from Hannah Montana as my kid watched it daily a few years ago, although I couldn't tell you which character she played, and sadly from the Manchester bombings.

I do think she looks very thin, and Ariana looks extremely unhealthy.

That might be because it was Miley Cyrus and not Ariana in Hannah Montana.

Yeah, had to stop for a second there. Although I have never seen Hannah Montana, I thoroughly enjoy an episode or several of Victorious or Sam and Cat, thanks to my eldest.

Ariana Grande comes across in interviews as being much more grounded and bright than Cynthia Eviro, which is amazing considering her Nickelodeon past.

That, coupled with Grandes huge fame, might grate with Eviro, who is over compensating in her treatment of Grande.

Read it every morning, I certainly don’t feel the need to apologise or hand wring about it! I read several news sources on my phone when I have my breakfast in the morning…all this stupid ‘Daily fail’ nonsense is so stupid…

It’s showbiz baby ! Not much normality anywhere , but this does feel like one verrryyy long performance art project .

Ariana lost an ex to drugs some time ago & got a lot of grief about having left him & blame (even though it wasn’t connected). Then Manchester & as a result openly struggles with PTSD, PA’s & cites OCD in her youth/past. Apart from how frail physically she looks & as a pp pointed out her eyebrows are dyed blonde so she looks other worldly. I watched a plastic surgeon analyse what surgeries she (& other stars, I know!) has had done & her permanently startled & almost frightened look w helped by the brow lift & upper bleph she’s had done that have completely changed the angle & position of her prior brows - not for the better. She doesn’t fill them in however so must like the look she has now but they I think add this unnatural expression along with chin filler making her look even more pointy & elfin like. I think it just all adds to the weirdness.

Ariana looks like she is suffering from anorexia. She is painfully thin.

Cynthia appeared on strictly this year. I don’t know if she is naturally slim or what. Motsi has lost weight and looks the picture of health. Tess and Claudia looked a lot thinner, almost scrawny. Is it a coincidence or are they all taking fat loss jabs?
