The BBC should lose the license fee and be forced to operate like any other streaming service after the complete destruction of trust this week

Thats it really, the BBC lied to us, all of us.

They edited a Trump speech to make him look like he said something he did not.

They pushed one side of the transgender debate relentlessly, deliberately hiding negative stories on detransitioners, the US WPATH file and thousands of more cases

https://archive.ph/wWdMS

https://archive.ph/uiEKW

They have cancelled people for wrong-think at every opportunity, pushed drag queens over women, turned woman hours into mens hour, constantly attacked anyone who does not share their extreme liberal left wing views and kept them off the news cycle

They have utterly and completely lost all trust, they ARE biased they DON'T give balance in the news

Everyone thought it was a conspiracy, now we know it's actually true and we have PROOF

Today the BBC Director and News Director have both quit in absolute disgrace.

It is time the BBC was consigned to the dustbin because we are never getting back to the BBC I loved and trusted, the one that ran programmes to inform and entertain and educate, that BBC is long gone.

Replace it, completely.

Davie says "there have been some mistakes made and as director general I have to take ultimate responsibility".

Your pointless fighting over a tiny definition just makes you look even more foolish.

Women don't have willies.

Men don't get pregnant.

Have a word with yourself.

What on earth are you talking about? Where did I say they did?

Timeline of The BBC being captured by fringe ideologies and pushing it to the uneducated masses. Because they know better than the proles what they should think.

Would a pregnant 14 year old consider herself an adult, or would we consider her an adult? Or a woman?

She is, both legally (as per a pp) and biologically, a woman, whatever she thinks herself to be.

"The BBC changed the testimony of a rape victim after a debate over the pronouns of her transgender attacker, The Times has learnt.
The woman referred to her alleged rapist as “him” but insiders said that her words were changed to avoid “misgendering” the abuser in an article on the corporation’s website."

They haven't just done this once....

They have an agenda.

It is a disgrace. I was shocked that they were rotten enough to try this, so corrupt!

faffadoodledo · 10/11/2025 07:40

In its defence the BBC makes enemies on the left and right. Both ends of the political spectrum distrust it and snipe at it, and I think that says something quite powerful. And at its heart an independent broadcaster will piss off both ends of the political spectrum, and the BBC does this

But this mistake is a howler. One problem the BBC has is it still recruits from a narrow section of society - sure it has diversity entry but the cream that rises to the flagship programmes tends to be the same old same old - and are they they best? Or are they just good at talking the talk?

I speak as an ex BBC employee so have a sense of this last point.

WildLimePoet · 10/11/2025 07:42

Any chance that this could be final straw and the BBC is finally de-funded. Sad but necessary.

BlueJuniper94 · 10/11/2025 07:43

nomas · 10/11/2025 07:24

You think 20,000 people worked on editing one episode? 🤣 It’s more like 4 (the producer, the editor, the lawyer, the head of commissioning).

The issue with the BBC is far far deeper than this one incident which is the tippy top of an immense Iceberg of liberal bias.

This is beyond disgusting. Honestly, how are they constantly getting away with using taxpayer cash to engage in this disgusting misogyny and outright lies in the name of reporting.

And they are getting away with it. As long as they keep getting billions of free cash to fund their activist hobbies, they are getting away it.

The people have a strong world view running through it, I’m not sure how you change that.

Yes, these people believe it is their mission to control the narrative and shape the way we perceive the world. They do indeed have that power but my God has it been abused by them

KateShugakIsALegend · 10/11/2025 07:53

Bollihobs · 09/11/2025 20:18

Seriously? You genuinely think what they did with the Trump speech was fine?

If you can leave aside any bias you may have (just guessing here) against Trump you are honestly saying that cutting and pasting his words to alter the meaning is OK?

Quoting from a politician here, but this sums my feelings up nicely.

....while the BBC was not perfect “it remains one of the few institutions standing between our British values and a populist, Trump-style takeover of our politics”

Has it made some poor decisions. Yes. I am personally disappointed in these examples. Does it need reform and constant challenge? Yes.

But reflect for a moment on the extreme, daily bias in the media in, say, the US, China or Russia.

We are at a really dangerous point in history, with American and Russian money pouring into our country and social media, aiming to radicalise, divide and destabilise. Let's not help them by getting into a frenzy.

There are lots of good things about the BBC, and lots of options for what to do next.

We need a considered plan, not an emotional response which cannot be undone.

GAJLY · 10/11/2025 07:54

Agreed.

KateShugakIsALegend · 10/11/2025 07:56

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 09/11/2025 19:51

Do tell us why the BBC should be allowed to operate given what has happened this week? So bad the director general and head of news literally resigned 10 minutes ago?

See my response above.

I can agree that they have made some egregious errors without agreeing with you on a knee jerk remedy which could have terrible, far-reaching consequences.

By some of them.

We need to keep some perspective.

There are many, many other things being reported on, on an hourly basis.

Stormwhatnow · 10/11/2025 08:00

And let's not forget the bullying threatening tactics they use on people who do not wish to use their services, oh and all the paedo's they gave a platform to and stayed quiet about.
They are a disgrace of an organisation. I'm not sure how much longer they'll last as the demographics of the UK change. The younger generations are not going to be buying TV licences either.

ThatBlackCat · 10/11/2025 08:03

TortillaKitty · 10/11/2025 06:10

You may not, but the BBC may have decided in their editorial policy that they do not wish to deliberately exclude any identity. And what’s with the phrase “some things should not be included”? That’s a bit dehumanising.

Males should not be 'included' in female spaces.

White people should not be 'included' in groups for say, African Americans, or First Nations people, for example.

Sometimes things are set up deliberately to exclude people, and that's totally ok.

It is not 'dehumanising' to exclude people from groups they don't belong in. Forcing them in, is what is dehumanising.

ThatBlackCat · 10/11/2025 08:05

TortillaKitty · 10/11/2025 06:13

And sometimes girls do. And teenagers. Not “women”.

The point is they are the female sex. Only females can get pregnant. Being pregnant is a very feminine thing, not a masculine thing.

If you think I'm basing my opinion on the Trump incident you'd be wrong. My issue with BBC bias began with Nick Robinson lying about Alex Salmond in 2013, it's gone steadily downhill ever since. R4 is rarely listenable

WildLimePoet · 10/11/2025 08:11

Listen to farcical coverage of this on the Today programme this morning. They are including defenders of the BBC in the debate this morning ‘for balance’ apparently.

And listen to all the excuses including ‘well it was internal coup, nothing to do with us being an absolute joke of a mouthpiece of organization for hobby activists’. And ‘it’s became of all the political division’.

So much for balanced reporting. Blaming everyone else but themselves.

The BBC is finished. And if isn’t, it should be.

Prevalent at the top, that’s the issue. It becomes institutionalised through hiring too.

They never got Helen Joyce, or Kathleen Stock, or Jane Clare Jones or Julia Long or Alice Sullivan in for balance did they?

You saying that does not make it so when all the evidence shows otherwise. How can you wilfully ignore the blatant antisemitism broadcast by BBC Arabic?

EdithStourton · 10/11/2025 08:25

TortillaKitty · 10/11/2025 06:57

Does that mean it is posters from the right calling for the BBC to be shut down - also not a surprise?

I'm from the centre.
I stopped paying the licence fee almost two years ago because I was so sick of what I perceived to be bias.

And it turns out that I was bang on the money.
