The immigration related clown show continues

So now an Algerian national who was released by mistake last week is at large. As if the previous debacle with the Epping forest sex offender wasn’t bad enough.

The fact that we are hearing about this again and again tells us that,
This happens all the time
Foreign national offenders are over represented in crime statistics
Immigration is out of control
People working in Home office, prison service and and every other government department are incompetent and beyond useless.

And these people have the audacity to tell us that they want more of the public’s money in taxes.

At this point, this government (and the previous one) is laughing at us. They are taking the piss out of us. This country is broken and Labour and Tories need to be voted so far into oblivion and out of power that they never get anywhere power, ever again.

I don’t know what ‘FLB’ means, so I would also be keen to understand.

I think its short for ForlornLindtBear.
Maybe its just another thinly veiled insult 🤷‍♂️

A few are piling on with insults that don’t even make sense. No idea why other than maybe they have run out of credible arguments.

My question: in terms of impact on the victim, what is the difference between a crime committed by a) a person born in the UK b) a person who has been granted British citizenship as an immigrant coming into the country c) a person who comes to the UK as an asylum seeker using an irregular route d) a person who comes to the UK as an asylum seeker using a regular route e) an economic migrant who comes to the UK using an irregular route?
My answer: absolutely nothing.

Neglect of the prison estate for 14 years. Insufficient prison places. High staff turnover. Low pay. Demotivated staff. Of course there's chaos. It's a wonder it's not worse.

If the person who had entered the country illegally had either been prevented from entering or had been deported immediately upon entering, then they would not have had the opportunity to commit the crime.

In terms of impact to the victim, I would say not being a victim (because the perpetrator was not in the country) would be much preferable!

ForlornLindtBear!

I know what FLB stands for FGS.

But not what they are talking about.

EasternStandard · 07/11/2025 21:15

TheNuthatch · 07/11/2025 21:11

Is this because you didn't like me providing evidence of the prison system getting worse under Labour?

You haven't spelled anything out, and I have no idea why FLB felt the need to get involved at all.
You and I were having a debate, and you came up with some twaddle about me not changing my username. Why on earth do I need to change my username?

I still haven't had the other names from FLB.

They ran out of road.

What do you mean by broken system?

Hotels - they might get people into barracks by the GE as a way to say they stopped using hotels but that won’t be enough if crossings are up.

They've rather wilfully misunderstood. People don't tend to want several hundred random men parachutes into their communities regardless of what their accommodation was previously used for.

Err thats not what happened at all, you never came up with anything, you seem to be utterly blinkered as to the causes as to why the Justice System is failing just that its "All Labours fault"

I on the hand, gave you evidence from the Justice Committee, which you ignored or did you also consider what they said as Twaddle? as that seems to be your "go to" when you have no argument.

The failings, like most in this country, go back decades but it is not on this Govt, they have not been in long enough.

ForlornLindtBear · 07/11/2025 21:28

TheNuthatch · 07/11/2025 20:50

Who were you talking about then if it wasn't just me? Names please.

Can you not see the irony of you accusing me of being 'holier than thou' 😂
You've arrived on this thread full of self importance, thinking that you have the right to chastise posters for their tone on other threads?

I'm afraid I couldn't care less what you think of my tone, here or elsewhere.

I’m not naming posters. You asked me to address you directly by name, which I did. There is nothing ironic about calling out double standards. It’s like you don’t realise people actually have functioning memories. It’s laughable.

Polaris81 · 07/11/2025 21:30

From Labour’s manifesto.

How Labour will fix prisons

As part of plans to make Britain’s streets safer, a Labour government will:

  • Take control of the planning process by classifying prisons as being of ‘national importance’ on public safety grounds, so the approval decision is in ministers’ hands.
  • Deliver the 20,000 promised jail places to ensure there is always enough space to lock up the most dangerous offenders
  • Bring together prison governors and local employers to create Employment Councils to drive down reoffending, linking offenders to training and jobs, and reducing the burden on capacity in the long term.

Does anyone know what progress has been made with respect to the above?

Yes people want barracks even less than hotels. I’m yet to see anyone on here raise their hand to get a barracks nearby, even those who are pro the system.

You might want to look back at my post to bemoresloth, which is the one you first quoted me on. Lots of evidence there with links. Figures I repeated on another post further on. I know you can't accept those figures as fact.
We don't have to agree, that's fine. The conversation ended hours ago.

All I've heard is that a 'crack team of experts' will be employed to digitise the system.

Why not post on the topic rather than the below. It’s a bit random.

I dont understand why foreign nationals are in prison in Britain? Surely if a foreign national commits a crime, they should be immediately deported and banned from ever returning.

I was really shocked by the violent crimes of foreign prisoners, why on earth were they ever allowed into Britain? They were not doctors and nurses given visas that's for sure. The immigration and prison systems are both broken and it's just a piss take of uk tax payers.

More mocking, you think a largely paper system can be upgraded to an computerised system by non experts?

As i said, they are making a start which is more than the previous Govt ever did.

Would you be happy if they were deported to a country and then released? and many countries will not accept back these people, just as we don't accept back some people we don't want here.

Why are they in the UK? Student & work visa's, partners of UK nationals, asylum seekers, EU nationals, tourists - people can visit and stay for up to 6 months.

Where’s the outrage for the 2 women a week killed by white men?!

What makes you think that all of those women were killed by white men?

A rough count up here (80 women allegedly killed by men in the UK in 2024) reveals that 22 (27%) of the men charged with murder are not white.

(A further 5 or 6 men have white but EU/other heritage)

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/ng-interactive/2024/dec/31/killed-women-count-a-project-highlighting-the-toll-and-tragedy-of-violence-against-women-in-the-uk

They just don’t care if it’s not white men.

In the US, Native American and black women are murdered at far higher rates than average. You can guess who’s killing them. But nothing is said because they will protect minority men over women, always.

There was even a conspiracy theory that white men were going into tribal areas and secretly killing native women. Of course that’s not what’s happening, it’s always the husband/father/boyfriend.

But that’s a very hard problem to solve and since they are programmed not to call out minority men, they just bury the story. And women continue to die

^Not just those systems but benefits and NHS too. It’s all gone to shit! and I don’t think there’s any coming back from it now.

Yes we do. I think Shamina Begum was literally the only one we didn't and that's because she was eligible for other citizenship.
