This page I follow, she said she always changes her bedding on the last day of the month and reminded her followers to do the same....
I commented does she only change them once a month and she said yes unless they need before that.

I thought this was completely gross!!! I change mine once a week. Absolute max maybe 9 days if particularly busy etc

YABU- once a month is fine
YANBU - thats gross

Each to their own I say.

You'll get anything ranging from every day to twice a year.

I can't be bothered to waste emotional energy in something that has zero effect on me.

WalkDontWalk · 02/11/2025 12:48

Every Ash Wednesday, without fail.

MrsMontyD · 02/11/2025 12:49

YABU once a month is absolutely fine.

MD2020and10LambertandButlerPlease · 02/11/2025 12:49

People change their bedding? 😲

BitOutOfPractice · 02/11/2025 12:50

I burn mine every morning.

But I’m sure your medal is in the post op.

TeenLifeMum · 02/11/2025 12:51

We do fortnightly but we’re really not a sweaty family. I can imagine some need to do it more regularly. Also depends how often you shower. Monthly seems a long time to me but each to their own.

estellacandance · 02/11/2025 12:51

It depends what you wear to bed and what you do in it!

ChessieFL · 02/11/2025 12:51

I get up at 2am to change mine. Anything more than 3-4 hours without changing it is disgusting.

TheKeatingFive · 02/11/2025 12:52

Well I doubt the world's going to fall in. And as you don't know her, who cares?

DickDewey · 02/11/2025 12:52

Once a MONTH! That’s skanky.

NotForTheMoneyandNotForTheApplause · 02/11/2025 12:53

Mumsnet,

Home of the obsessed with the laundry habits of others.

JudgeBread · 02/11/2025 12:54

I mean duh, I'm a Mumsnetter, obviously I change my sheets every day and wash them at 100°

Even though I sweat L'Air du Temps and my farts smell like petunias it would be completely grim to not change them that often, alongside scrubbing my husband with brillo to ensure he's clean enough to be allowed in the bed.

It doesn’t have to be extremes. Such a tired old trope in response to basic hygiene standards. Not washing bedding for a month at a time is minging. The alternative is not washing bedding as soon as you look at it.

Once a week is just basic cleanliness.

Glowingup · 02/11/2025 12:57

I don’t think I’ve ever changed my bedding. Are you supposed to?

dottiedodah · 02/11/2025 12:58

YANBU OP! I think if she reminds people some may leave it longer than this ! Yuck

I mean I don't spend much of my time worrying about the laundry habits of strangers but you do you

therewasafishinthepercolator · 02/11/2025 12:59

I can't really vote. I wouldn't be fine with monthly but I wouldn't say its absolutely gross either.I try for weekly but can go to day 9 or 10.

If a person isn't a minger, showers before bed, wears clean pyjamas, maybe sleeps alone, yadda yadda its not the worst thing. I wouldn't go that long but wouldn't judge a person for it. There's worse things.

JipJup · 02/11/2025 12:59

Every time I glance in its direction.

Timeforhector · 02/11/2025 13:00

Once a year, whether they need it or not

lazyarse123 · 02/11/2025 13:00

I do mine when I think about it. Not weekly definitely. But the only person telling me when I should do stuff would be my mum and she's no longer with us so 🤷‍♀️.

BauhausOfEliott · 02/11/2025 13:02

DP does the laundry and I’ve never bothered to monitor how often he changes the sheets. Maybe around every three or four weeks? I don’t really care tbh.

Shininglightshiningbright · 02/11/2025 13:02

I think the weirdest thing about this woman is that she obviously assumes that her way is the right way and the only way.
And of course the assumption that some random individual on Instagram thinks she has a right to tell other people what to do.
Personally I change my bedding when I know it needs changing and I make my own decision. As an adult I dont need some stranger to tell me.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 02/11/2025 13:02

I don't actually have a bed but levitate in a meditative state every night.
far purer for the soul
poor op having to lie on a bed to sleep unlike us higher beings who have forsaken such trivialities

NancyJoan · 02/11/2025 13:03

Once a week seems a lot to me. I sleep alone, in pyjamas, and am a clean person. Once a fortnight is plenty
