This page I follow, she said she always changes her bedding on the last day of the month and reminded her followers to do the same....
I commented does she only change them once a month and she said yes unless they need before that.

I thought this was completely gross!!! I change mine once a week. Absolute max maybe 9 days if particularly busy etc

YABU- once a month is fine
YANBU - thats gross

G-g-g-g-geeeet a griiiiiip!

Who gives a fuck about when other people change their bedding😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

flossie72 · 03/11/2025 22:47

Fortnightly. Maybe 3 weekly if I’ve been particularly busy. We all bathe in the evening so we’re getting into bed relatively clean. I don’t really see what’s grim about sleeping in your own sheets even if they are a bit sweaty. Much worse things going on in the world.

Hetty1999999 · 03/11/2025 22:49

I change mine every day or other day I have bad night sweats. Even if I didn’t I’d do it once a week.

Once a week seems a lot to me. I sleep alone, in pyjamas, and am a clean person. Once a fortnight is plenty

Same here Nancy Joan 😊

ImogenBrocklehurst · 03/11/2025 23:33

Every Saturday without fail. I love getting in to clean sheets.

sheistheslayer · 03/11/2025 23:51

Every Sunday. It’s really sad (probably!) but I like my Sunday routine
aldi at 9.30am, home by 10.15, food prep for the week and some batch cooking, get the cleaning and laundry done and change the bedding
usually sat down by 3pm with a clean house and a coffee

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 04/11/2025 01:21

Once a fortnight is the order of the day in our house. If anyone wets the bed. Tough.

They made their bed. So they have to lie in it.

T1Dmama · 04/11/2025 01:22

I think it depends….
if you’re a single person who showers daily and washes hair daily then you wouldn’t need to change the sheets as often as someone who is only washing their hair twice a week, has a manual job, having sex in it every night etc…..
My ex was fat and sweaty, in the summer I changed the bedding twice a week, now I’m single, wear a nighty which is changed every other day, wear pants, shower and wash hair daily etc I change it less frequently. I shower every morning as soon as I get up, and sometimes before bed too depending what I’ve done.

My mum washes towels after every use.. which is odd to me as you’ve literally just showered and scrubbed every inch and you’re drying a clean body… I just can’t cope with that level of washing!

ThisDearGoose · 04/11/2025 02:27

Once a fortnight for us. That seems pretty standard. I've seen once every several months as and it was not pretty. But I don't have the energy to care what other people's routines are.

RyanFudgingMurphy · 04/11/2025 02:33

Fortnightly.

I’m on my own, so there are to appearances to be kept up.

Nothing sad about being up & out early on a Sunday morning , routine ..
Beats being in bed with a hangover 🙌 😊

It depends what you wear to bed and what you do in it!

Exactly.

I change mine every fortnight ... might do it more often in the summer if we've been a bit sweaty.

whyyyyyisitmonddayy · 04/11/2025 10:10

TeenLifeMum · 02/11/2025 12:51

We do fortnightly but we’re really not a sweaty family. I can imagine some need to do it more regularly. Also depends how often you shower. Monthly seems a long time to me but each to their own.

When I lived alone I’d wash mine once a month, but I’m an evening showerer and my house is freezing so I never really sweat in my sleep. Now I’m with someone I change them as needed, probably every two weeks, more in the summer

Catpiece · 04/11/2025 10:12

An ex neighbour changed her bedding every six months, yes SIX MONTHS

seasid · 04/11/2025 10:21

I change my bedding and all sofa blankets each Sunday - it’s a nice refresh to start the week on Monday. I think it’s so gross when people don’t change their covers, especially when they have pets in the bed with them. My ex’s mum had her stinky dog in her bed with her, she smoked in bed too yet she never changed the bed cover - it literally made her smell too. People who use no basic hygiene creeps me out, because what do you mean you’re not taking 10 minutes once a week to change your bedding

lilkitten · 04/11/2025 11:10

Once a month sounds okay to me. TBF if she's making people remember to do that, that's good, and at least they'll do it once a month. I dread to think how often my DP changed his sheets before I met him. Also may depend on what you use - all my bedding is cotton which feels really fresh, but polyester/polycotton would make me sweat a lot

icouldholditwithacobweb · 04/11/2025 11:16

Once a MONTH?! For bedding you spend at least 6 hours in every 24 hours period?! Cannot get over this, mine is changed weekly on a weekend and I love to shower before getting into bed so it's kept fresh throughout the week. I could not deal with someone who thought changing their bedding once a month was acceptable and am stunned at the number of people who think a monthly change is okay. Is this why people wear so much perfume!?

Once a month is fine, especially in winter. We have daily showers, sometimes twice daily, we wear pyjamas, we don’t sweat unduly, we air the bed with sheets pulled back all day. No perfume needed.

Susgor · 05/11/2025 12:51

Pillowcases twice a week or as needed. Sheets weekly in summer, fortnightly on winter (more or less).

wearyourpinkglove · 05/11/2025 13:53

Depends how dirty you are when you get into bed I suppose 😂

I shower before bed so I think once a month is fine but I often do mine every two weeks.

Surely that's just more effort?

Susgor · 05/11/2025 20:16

I feel they need more washing.... I do them with other clothes

Jesslovesengineering · 08/11/2025 18:20

Unless they're all being facetious, I am absolutely shook that the majority voted this fine. I am absolutely not a clean freak, my house is always messy because AuDHD (both me and 7 year old), single parent with a lot going on and also making sure kiddo has fun is more important but, Jesus, I very rarely go longer than a week, despite frequently not being allowed to spend more than 4h a night in my bed (he also doesn't sleep) 🙈

Thepossibility · 08/11/2025 20:41

I wash all the pillowcases weekly but the rest can go longer. Especially in cooler weather with PJs on and everything....skin is only actually touching the pillow really?
