The issue in Sudan is a civil war, so it's very difficult to call for anyone to help, or even identify what that help would look like. Most aid would be appropriated by the militia on all sides. There are more than two sides too, there are many groups and lots of infighting. And they're backed by many different nations with vested interests. Its about power, racism and, as always, money.
At a time when many people are rejecting asylum seekers from countries they see as violent, I really can't see any solution that I would protest for, other than that noone should be selling any more armaments. Which is something I support anyway. Or that we should take asylum seekers from there, which I also support.
Literally noone can go in to help or they're kidnapped. There have been calls for the military from various countries to go in with aid workers to protect them, but then you suddenly risk a white invasion, which is also not a very good idea.
So there's really nothing I feel I can do other than raise awareness, which is presumably what the OP is doing also.
My heart goes out to them, and I will continue to support the charities that I do. This feels trite in the situation though. I honestly don't know what else I could do to help anyone there.
I've read this thread with interest though, to see if anyone does have solutions. But it does appear as if some people are just using a desperately awful situation to further their own agenda. As was ever thus.
