Thousands of bodies seen from space pictures Sudan massacre

This horrific story just doesn't make the news. The ongoing slaughter of innocents appears to be largely ignored.

If you are unaware its Sudan and 2000 people slaughtered a few days ago.

No poll. Just posting to raise awareness of this tragedy.

I notice that it's on the main page of the BBC news website. Also features on their "Verify" section.

Catwalking · 30/10/2025 16:16

Bbc radio 4 is on permanently during waking hrs in our kitchen, I have heard several reports on the day, about Sudan massacre, from a few standpoints.

ThatsNotAKnife · 30/10/2025 16:43

It looks like the David Nott (War Doctor book) Foundation are working to train more medical staff in Sudan. They are incredibly brave.

They are very brave indeed. That's such a huge challenge, what amazing people.

Very good piece just now on PM on Radio 4.

Seems some of the Arab states have a lot of blood on their hands. Again, why no outcry and bleeding hearts over here about that? UAE particularly averse to coming to the table

I know. For years. Is this U.K. collusion because we want their oil?

I will listen on iPlayer, thank you for letting people know. I have always felt confused about which side is doing what and why and who is backing them.

These 'oh look there's a genocide in Africa you're not bothered about' threads are just Islamophobic and baiting.

Yes I feel sad that there are people dying but that doesn't mean I'm going to shut up about Muslims being killed.

Also, what can we do about Sudan? We could actually lobby our government about Israel

This thread is not islamophobic and not baiting.

Lots of people have commented that they didn't realise how bad it was, or that they were unaware of it, or similar posts. How is it islamophobic to mention a major humanitarian crisis and say how awful it is. Honestly, have some humanity for the poor people of Sudan rather than shouting 'islamophobia' because its merely discussed as awful!

Wasn't George Clooney an advocate for Sudan? This war has been going on for far too long with little to no interest from the outside world. Ditto Yemen. It's horrific and about time we sat up and paid attention

Ihatetomatoes · 30/10/2025 17:41

Ankleblisters · 30/10/2025 14:59

I don't think that was OP's intention at all, although certainly there are people on here who have been trying to make it about that and make it divisive. And there are certainly some PP who have been Islamophobic and baiting.

I think it's perfect possible to care about genocide in Sudan and try to bring more attention to it without shutting up about genocide in Gaza or human rights abuses in the West Bank.

RE lobbying our government, I actually disagree with that. We can and should lobby our government about Israel. We also equally can and should, lobby our government about selling arms to the UAE who are funding the militias massacring civilians and raping women and children in Sudan.

When everyone pays attention and cares, things have some hope of changing.

Thank you, it wasn't. I read the story and was astounded that you could see bodies and blood from images from space. It's an horrific massacre and no idea why its not to be talked about.

I also think its possible to be concerned about many different conflicts or crisis around the world.

i have also repeatedly listened to reports about Sudan on the BBC over the past few days even though I try to avoid upsetting news. I don’t think it’s accurate to say it’s not being reported.

I agree with PP’s, the UN is a completely pointless organisation.

I think a factor in the lack of international action is that this is a civil war. It is far easier for other countries to get involved when it is 2 or more countries fighting each other. A civil war with many different factions is so complex there is little that can be done in terms of bringing peace.

Also agree with PP’s regarding counties not selling arms.

FoxRedPuppy · 30/10/2025 17:45

I’m getting quite annoyed now. Why are people still talking about lack of coverage in media? As I’ve pointed out it is covered in a wide variety of today’s newspapers and news sites (TELEGRAPH, BBC,SKY NEWS, GUARDIAN, INDEPENDENT).

STOP SAYING IT HASNT BEEN IN MEDIA WHEN IT HAS!

nomas · 30/10/2025 15:15

Who do you think is supplying arms? It’s the US and UK.

@estellacandance how is appearing on the front pages of nearly all newspaper websites, BBC, Sky and several pieces on Radio 4 not being covered?

Certainly today. I think people are noting not much coverage before today.

Thank you, but I did just mean in terms of the moral responsibility of the UAE in this conflict.

The findings have again prompted scrutiny over Britain’s export of arms to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has been repeatedly accused of supplying weapons to the paramilitary RSF in Sudan.

It seems arms are sold to UAE who then give/sell the to militia in Sudan. Whether it was known that is where weapons ended up or not, I dont know. We should immediately stop selling to UAE but the UAE are the country ultimately passing to the militia to kill people with. UAE are not innocent. Weapons suppliers need to be called out and stopped from supplying to UAE since we know where they end up now.

There are articles on Guardian going back weeks. And on Radio 4 before today.
