What are Hamas playing at?

It’s deeply worrying that Hamas haven’t returned all the dead hostages as agreed. I’ve seen comments saying it’s an impossible task given how Gaza has been reduced to rubble. But if that’s the case, they would have known they had lost the bodies. So why did they agree to return them if they knew they weren’t able to do so?

Well they’ve made absolutely no comment on the murder of almost 20,000 children and yet decided my use of language was the problem. That’s the real issue!

Their comment was unrelated
It purely related to a blasphemous comment
They have every right to make note of that if they wish
Perhaps they found it offensive and upsetting
That’s their businesses.
It doesn’t have to relate to deaths or murders anywhere.

I’m pro Palestinian and I recognise everyones right to be offended by the use of blasphemy by others.

Twisting comments. Putting words into peoples mouths and making light of their feelings shows an utter disrespect for others.

If people don’t at least try to care it’s no wonder the world is rarely at peace

There is no greater global disrespect than how the world is treating Palestine. I have absolutely zero respect for anyone who can’t see that and im completely at peace with that. That may well not be you but the original comment I replied to did not, and then called me out. I’m a catholic for what it worth….

They didn’t comment because it was irrelevant to their post. They only commented on the use of certain words

No one has to caveat every comment
We can all comment on whatever we want

The original comment was not me

Of note I regularly disagree with the views of the pp, but @camomilelawns has a right to them

Im done with this line of conversation because my thoughts are just common sense

So you think the people who carried out and supported Oct 7th in their name deserve respect?

That chose bloodshed and terrorism instead of peace, and continually put kids in harms way in a terrorist playground while brainwashing them that THEY are the victim and killing Jews is the most highest purpose in their life?

I don’t think your lack of respect for anyone who doesn’t agree with you is missed.

NotrialNodeal · 19/10/2025 14:49

@Lostmyusernametoday catholic you say? You know the second of God's commandments don't you? You understand taking the Lord's name in vain even in casual exclamations is considered blasphemy and a grave sin? Do you understand Catholics are taught that blasphemy is a direct offence against God and therefore even worse than murder which is a sin against our neighbour? Hope this helps.

Why the quotation marks around hostages?

I mean I know that’s what catholics are taught. Happily I was blessed with enough critical thought to know it’s absolute rubbish to suggest that saying Jesus to convey casual frustration is nowhere near comparable to murder! Pretty sure even the pope would agree but you do you

I absolutely think it’s awful what happened on October 7th. Absolutely no question. However I truly believe that murdering 18,000 children and babies is completely unforgivable and in no way a response that was warranted

I mean they did go on to tell me that blasphemy is more serious than murder….but glad we’re on the same page about the actually important bit which the use of JC is clearly not given the absolute atrocities still being committed (so much for a ceasefire eh) 😊

So what did Hamas think would happen? That Israel would just shrug and go “ok then? What outcome did Hamas want for the rape, kidnap and murder of innocent civilians?

An eye for an eye and the world would be blind? I mean I don’t think murdering civilians is ever the answer and if you think the largest number of amputee children in modern history is a proportionate and correct response then I’d have a good hard look in the mirror

Have you lost your moral compass? Nothing, absolutely nothing, justifies what Israel has done.

What would be a reasonable, morally just response from Isreal in your opinion?

Cheeks4970 · 21/10/2025 10:45

Have you read any of the Israeli reports of what happened on Oct 7? Yoav Gallant was the Israeli defence minister at the time:

First public admission
Contrary to Gallant’s statement that the Hannibal Directive was unevenly applied in different areas, Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported in January 2024 that at midday on 7 October, an unambiguous order was given from the high command of the Israeli military to invoke the Hannibal Directive across the entire region.
The order came “even if this means the endangerment or harming of the lives of civilians in the region, including the captives themselves,” Israeli journalists Ronen Bergman and Yoav Zitun reported.
In July, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the order “not a single vehicle can return to Gaza” was issued to the Gaza Division of the Israeli military at 11:22 am that day.
But Gallant’s new statement is highly significant, as the first public admission by a contemporary Israeli minister that their troops were ordered to fire on their own people on 7 October.
A military doctrine first issued in secret by Israeli generals in the 1980s, the Hannibal Directive is Israel’s national murder-suicide pact.

How Israel killed hundreds of its own people on 7 October

One year on, the evidence is overwhelming.

Wow mods. You delete my posts and leave up a link to a website literally called Intifada peddling antisemitic conspiracy theories. The rot goes deep.

I never said anything did. I’m trying to understand why Hamas would deliberately target Israeli civilians if they weren’t expecting a response. I think if you’re defending Hamas then I also think you need to look at yourself in the mirror. They knew Israel would react. So they deliberately put their own people in danger.

Hi Everanewbie,
We removed your posts because they were in clear violation of our guidelines.
As to the other matter; it would be rare for us to blanket ban entire websites and we have not done so with this one.
We moderate posts in context, against our rules. A link to a site isn’t necessarily an endorsement, nor is it automatically a breach of our guidelines. If we started prohibiting sources purely for their political leanings, we’d end up banning a long list of outlets across the spectrum, including some you actually might prefer, which would turn into viewpoint-based moderation. That’s not how we run the boards.
What we do remove is Anti-Semitism (and all other forms of hate) wherever it appears whether that’s in a user’s own words or in the specific material they’re promoting. If you see a post or link that crosses that line, please report it and please, in future, refrain from attacking the person who has posted it.

This website is literally called intifada. Literally the name given to a terrorist campaign. It is antisemitic slur to suggest Israel attacked its own citizens on 7/10.
