I am referring to the unchecked culture of hate that has been allowed to continue. This attack should never have happened, and the response time will be little condolence to the families of the deceased.

@Arrrrrrragghhh what a bizarre response. Don’t you have any compassion for the murdered fgs.

QuickMember · 02/10/2025 21:23

I absolutely agree with you OP and many are saying that they even predicted something like this would happen. An environment that is hostile to Jewish people has long been created.

HRTQueen · 02/10/2025 21:24

I am not sure if anti semitism has increased or because of the situation in Gaza people feel free to voice their antisemitism hiding behind their concerns for Gaza

i can’t answer if Jewish people are not protected enough it will seem not and certainly there is less sympathy towards Jewish people who have been attacked in recent times

it’s absolutely shocking what has happened today it’s shameful that this has happened today in the UK

HermioneWeasley · 02/10/2025 21:28

YANBU

the men who drove around north London calling for the death and rape of Jews several years ago were never charged which tells you all you need to know about how seriously this country takes threats against its Jewish population.

spontaneous “pro Palestine” protests have been permitted across the UK this evening. Why do they feel the need to do it today? It can only be further intimidation of Jewish communities.

it’s an absolute disgrace

Ablondiebutagoody · 02/10/2025 21:28

Antisemitism is rife in this country since Oct 7 and Jews are considered fair game for abuse and violence. They have been telling us and sadly this attack was totally unsurprising. Its why most synagogues have security.

Mydadsbirthday · 02/10/2025 21:30

It's been like this for years, the synagogue in my town is unmarked and has security guards outside it every Saturday and Jewish holiday. This isn't necessary for any other place of worship. It's appallling.

No minorities are protected in this country. There is a rise in racism and xenophobia in general, Jews are no different to any of the other minorities that are feeling unsafe.

And people were blaming the victims of the attack because of Israel straight away, people were waving Palestinian flags straight away in an attack on a community that has nothing to do with the Middle East.

Wtf has that got to do with anything? In those 8 mins, 2 people were killed and another 3 injured and hospitalised!

Read comments in the victims today. It’s really not.

BatchCookBabe · 02/10/2025 21:36

100% agree @Longingdreamer Some people don't like to admit this though.

I'm Jewish, and i think the proposition that this attack is about 'growing antisemitism' is bullshit. Sorry.

The police absolutely rushed to deal with it and protect the community - the attacker was dead within 7 minutes of the call to the police. That suggests an appropriately high level of care and concern for the Jewish community.

Have I sat in syngaogue and wondered what I'd do if any attack like this happened? Yes. Do I think the possibility of it is due to antisemitism? No. It's extreme Islamism (which of course is not something that vast majority of Muslim people associate with) and that is a matter of policing and national security, where there is every evidence they take it seriously and believe in protecting us.

Was there a terrorist attack on a Mosque today?

What evidence do you have for this?

Mosques and Muslim schools do not require armed guards, and did not experience a horrific terrorist attack today, on the holiest day of the year.

Your post lacks compassion

Most of the ones I have seen were pre-planned for today due to the ongoing interception of the latest flotilla(s) running the sea blockade on Gaza.
These ones were not spontaneous and not in response to the Manchester terror attack that left 2 dead afaik.

I am equally disgusted that some might have been spontaneous in response to the Manchester terror attack. However, I suspect those protesters would be more likely to be from Reform/ England first/ anti immigrant - similar to the Southport stabbing - than the usual left leaning protesters for Palestine.

@Echobelly if they are taking it seriously, then why is Haroon Aswat not in prison?

Do you really think it's 'bullshit' when Jews were murdered for being Jewish, at their place of worship, on Yom Kippur?

They were murdered for being Jewish, that is Anti-Semitism.

This guys name was Jihad.

CopperWhite · 02/10/2025 21:54

Mosques and Muslim schools do not require armed guards,

private security is not ‘armed guards’, which are provided by the police. Muslims don’t tend to segregate themselves into separate schools so that is not comparable. Mosques arguably have equally high a need for private security, but they choose not to pay for it whereas Synagogues do.

There are plenty of Muslim schools and Mosques. How many terrorist attacks have there been at either of these? You are hugely missing the point, while providing no evidence for your claims.
