To think that Brooklyn Beckham

Is one spoilt entitled brat who has broken his parents hearts, not that I am a great fan of the Beckhams, at least they have worked all their lives and would not betray their parents!

I bet the Beckhams are furious. Again, we dont know if what BB has claimed is true, but nonetheless, this is very damaging to the beckhams. Be interesting to see how they respond.

Im quite surprised, they seemed like a close knit family

after what came out last night you have to wonder if his parents were worried about how useless he was and they were trying to protect him? I mean the kid has nothing going for him so maybe they thought he needed brand beckham?

Let’s face it, without brand beckham he’d be a nobody. He’s not done a thing for himself since he became an adult.

How unkind. He clearly has not been given the space in his life to become an adult who can make mature decisions. People aren't poodles, neither are your children. You cannot make them what you think they should be even if your motivation is 'in their best interests'. It's all very sad. I'd be devastated if either of my children felt like this about me.

SemperIdem · 20/01/2026 08:53

I think the issue with Victoria and David is one you see a lot with extremely driven, self made, successful people - they have no idea how to instil a similar sort of drive in their own children.

They ushered in a new era of celebrity in developing a ‘family brand’ though and perhaps believed that they could secure their children’s adult happiness and success based on it. They have certainly tried!

I imagine, as others have said, that living through the media furore following David’s alleged affairs would have been deeply traumatic for Brooklyn. Romeo would have been too young to remember, the other two weren’t even born. They have had quite different formative years, irrespective of having the same parents.

Brooklyn is undoubtedly a spoilt, privileged individual in the normal sense of the word, anybody brought up with that kind of wealth would be. I do think he is quite genuinely troubled young man because of his upbringing. There are plenty of parallels to be drawn between him and Prince Harry.

I admire VB, she's very ambitious clearly. What puzzles me is that she and others like her, who are fortunate enough to have a great deal of money, don't prioritise cultural development, a classical education/the academics or second language acquisition etc for their children. Some I know from ordinary backgrounds who have inherited, married into or made a great deal of money have begun to rub shoulders with those who had cultural capital growing up, the upper middle classes if you like. Those who know about art, ballet, opera etc. Those who are not necessarily intellectual giants but who are intellectually curious. I'd want to nurture that seed in my children and imagine all you could do, and some indeed do, when you have their sort of resources. Possibly Geri Halliwell has headed in that direction with her own children (?)

She is ambitious but she has very little natural talent. She probably doesn't have the capacity to appreciate the things you mention.

They pimped out their three sons to build brand Beckham.

They might stop with their Harper plans. A wake up call?
Being female, she’ll get a much worse time than the lads.

Boomer55 · 20/01/2026 08:58

A Nepo baby who spears to have no talent of his own. 🙄

You only have to look at Holly Ramsay & her three new designer handbags to see where these people’s interests lie.

Go to Uni, have that experience.

Pippa Middleton probably has a ton, the mistake is to show & tell. Why the constant need to do this?

Holly is a two bit grifter, as is Adam. That said, his family aren't much better either. None of these people have any real public interest.

Pippa married money & is probably no more cultured than the average celeb. No doubt she has all of the lovely things.

Showing off is a paid Influencer gig. Holly said the bags were a gift (10 grand’s worth) from AP. But she’ll get work from it.

Yes, unfortunately you’re right.

Prince William, St Andrews. Usual requirement 3 X A* (bare minimum 2 X A, 1 X B) on A, B, C.

St Andrews requirements in the late 90s or early 00s were lower. As were most Uni requirements. Mostly because A star didn't yet exist for A levels. A fairly standard offer for a humanities course at the end of the 90s was BBB or BBC. I know, because that's what they offered me. So William was very much in their grade range at the time.

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 20/01/2026 09:25

I assume you’re just being goady and are not pretending you think the fault is all on one side and his parents did nothing to warrant this, and just love to blame someone who was effectively an abused child.

Sartre · 20/01/2026 09:35

Feel bad for him. He clearly inherited David’s intellect but not his talent. Almost anything he chose to do in life as a result, he would have been dismissed as another nepo baby. This only would have been brokered by him pulling a move like Ramsay’s son and joining the military. He doesn’t have the intelligence to get a degree so was never destined to be a scientist, doctor, teacher etc.

Poor kid has tried his hand at various pursuits and always been mocked. You can very much tell that everything he said last night was the truth. Even the documentary they did on Netflix was forced, the way they brushed over his affair but didn’t deny it so it was clearly true. They’ve always tried to pursue this image of the perfect nuclear family. Both parents are hugely ambitious but had Victoria not married him, I’m doubtful she’d get much press nowadays much like the other bandmates.

You know she’d be an awful mother in law and I can absolutely imagine her pushing her way into their first dance as he said. She always seemed frosty with his wife. I think they were envious he was marrying into an even wealthier family than theirs.

Going by their current trajectory Romeo and Cruz are heading in the same direction.

I’ve often wondered why children of people/families with this sort of money even want to be in the limelight. Is it because they’ve grown up with it, it’s normal and they have no other frame of reference?

I mean, it doesn’t matter one iota if none of the kids want to work, or have a career. A life spent learning, spending as long in university education as you wanted, travelling, reading, volunteering, gardening - anything! Absolutely anything you wanted to do. Sounds pretty good, no?

Yes! I wonder this too! Its like they simultaneously need and hate the media... I like to think I'd have a life of meaningful projects, reading, gardening and spending time with friends...
Feel sorry for Brooklyn and children like him. They seem unhappy and aimless.

I think Cruz is a fairly talented footballer to be fair, at least he inherited some of the skills. Romeo is trying to be a musician, let’s just hope he doesn’t sing like his mum…

HappySummerDays · 20/01/2026 10:15

@Sartre
I think you have got them mixed up. Cruz is trying to be a musician. Not sure what Romeo is doing.

Anyone can exposure themselves to ‘culture’ surely. The V&A amazing & free. I’d have nurtured that & used resources to get kids fluent in another language from birth. Opportunities right there. VB is socially ambitious NB: elocution now etc so it surprises me a little - unless all about them? I think Robbie Williams & wife are encouraging music & arts in broadest context.

It's true, though. I don't know why so many people are siding with her, she is clearly toxic and always has been.

the3robbers · 20/01/2026 10:31

I do think, there is probably more truth than 'varied recollections' from the BB statement. He's clearly, to his mind anyway, had an abusive childhood, which comes in many forms. Maybe the Beckhams thought they were acting in his best interest but he clearly doesn't see it like that. His very public response is a product of how they bought him up. I wouldn't respnd like that but I wasn't put in the limelight since the day I was born.

Yes it is true, she famously admitted that she had never read a book so shes not going to be interested in her children being 'cultured' . I 100% believe that Brooklyn has had a toxic childhood and probably only realised how bad it was when he became part of Nicola's family. Not sure why people aren't believing the wedding dance story. It was widely reported at the time, along with photos of Nicola crying with her bridesmaids about it. Not only did she hijack the first dance but Marc Anthony, good friend of Victoria and David, announced Victoria as 'the most beautiful woman in the room' . Shocking behaviour at your sons wedding.

Victoria is weak and vain, and 'Sir' David is a dirty dog who shouldn't ever been given the knighthood he so coveted.
