For thinking that the migrant protests ...

Should be held at the council offices, Government departments, rather than the migrant hotels? After all, it's due to the government's lack of processing that the migrants are there?

Funny how all the immigrant haters suddenly care about the UK homeless, when they've never given them a second thought before all this shit happened.

Yeah Bit like Covid when people went on and on about vulnerable disabled ppl and were happy to use them as a tool to emotionally blackmail others into following Covid restrictions when they couldnt have given a shit about them before!! Rubber stamped by the fact that ppl are now cheering on the benefit cuts facing those same disabled people.

But then if everybody who disagreed went off to their “echo chambers”, wouldn’t that make this an echo chamber?

Good point...please stay and let's have a reasonable debate?

Ha ha, nobody is saying stopping immigration. They’re saying control it. It absolutely is possible (?) and society will continue to degenerate until it happens.

Some do say stop it - that was part of my post - no one really agrees on what is the preferred outcome.
Anyway, everyone then will be glad to know we do already control immigration- visas for example can be (and are) refused, or granted, our choice/under our control - they will be refused if requirements are not met, across work/study/spouse etc. even visit, so many applicants just don’t get to come here.
Same for repeat applications in country - they can be refused, or revoked mid term if folk are not complying with visa requirements.
The current government has returned just over 24,000 people from July 24 to March 25 - more than since 2017 as it happens, they are doing more raids as well and also reducing visa numbers/changing skilled migrants lists etc etc.
Re asylum seekers - this is separate to legal/illegal migration, and quite a small proportion of overall migration - the government are trying to clear the backlog, work out ways to stop small boats by liaising with other countries etc - pre small boats it was mainly lorries and channel tunnel - that was stopped and now its boats - work is done on this, but desperate people and smugglers aren’t just going to stop (for different reasons between them of course!)
But this ‘control’ already exerted, within the laws of our land, by the government the public voted in, is not acceptable/good enough then - so what is? What exactly does ‘control’ mean - without a specified objective how can it ever be achieved?

These MEN are not asylum seekers.

They are all fighting age men. If their country of origin was so dangerous, they would have brought along their grandmothers, grandfathers, fathers, mothers, sisters, wives and their children (if they have any).

Honestly, ask yourself, what YOUR husband would do, if the UK was a hotbed of danger? Would he flee to a safe country and leave you and your children behind? Would he leave his Mum behind? Would he leave his sister behind? Or would he stay to protect his family? I think we all know he wouldn't just fuck off into the sunset and leave us to die.

These men are not fleeing danger. They are, at best, wanting to be here for a better life, at the UK tax payers expense (£6M per day btw), and at worst, well, you just don't know do you? Sleeper cells? You can't rule it out, however far fetched you might think.

Do you know, that in some areas where there are migrant hotels, that rape has increased by 800%? And some people on this thread think that's okay because some British men are rapists anyway? What kind of stupidity is that?

Do you think that Iran would accept hundreds of thousands of British men, and pay for them to live in 5* hotels? OF COURSE they wouldn't.

Anyone watching hundreds of YOUNG MEN checking into hotels, with no women in sight, should be utterly shitting themselves, not thinking "aw bless them".

Some people are so naive!!

Source, please, for your claim of an 800% rape increase in places.

In some places men of fighting age flee before they are turned into cannon fodder, because that’s what conscription means in some African countries. It isn’t even as if they will dir for a good cause.

It is often thought that an unencumbered man will fare best making a dangerous journey, and he can send for his young family when settled. They will travel by safe, traditional means and be welcomed as legal immigrants. Sounds a perfectly logical plan to me.

I don’t think that’s possible, it’s a waste of time. I genuinely don’t see how anybody can be pro mass immigration or illegal immigration without malign intentions towards the existing U.K. population and nothing I’ve read on this thread has remotely persuaded me otherwise. It’s obvious what’s going to have to happen in order to end this madness.

LakieLady · 24/08/2025 14:04

CharlotteBakewell · 24/08/2025 12:54

But they’re not buying just one inflatable, they must be buying them in bulk surely, unless it’s such a huge operation that they have multiple individuals with multiple lock ups?

Is it one big operation or lots of small ones? I have no idea.

If the former, they've probably bought in bulk and have them in a warehouse somewhere exactly as you say.

LakieLady · 24/08/2025 14:17

So why are migrants making a huge journey to the UK via plenty of closer countries?

One of the reasons I've been given by refugees I've met is that it's because they already speak English, so they don't have to learn another language, the other common reason is that there's already a community from their ethnic group or nationality here. The latter was a big factor for my Kurdish friend and others I've from that group, although my friend was fluent in English as well.

For a start it’s not a sweeping generalisation, it didn’t say all. And of all the protesters arrested by one police force last year 68% had been the subject of domestic violence reports - let that sink in, more than two thirds.

Two thirds of those arrested, not two thirds of all protesters.

If our country becomes more attractive to refugees because they already have an established community here or they have friends or relatives here, it follows that the more we allow in, the more will want to come. So the problem will grow exponentially. Thats not a very attractive proposition.

CoffeeCantata · 24/08/2025 15:09

Ihateboris · 23/08/2025 13:43

So where would you house them ? I'm not being goady by the way.

Ideally, offshore somewhere. But that would involve taking over an island somewhere in the Western Isles - and the last time I looked, there weren’t any going free.

They need to be somewhere they can’t abscond from and the assessment process needs a rocket putting under it. It should be super-fast.

When I think of the billions wasted on HS2…

Spot on

There were many many women at our towns protest. People of all ages too. They are scared and have had enough. I know plenty other people who wanted to go but are scared of being branded a racist, could lose their jobs etc.

CoffeeCantata · 24/08/2025 15:13

Should add- those who are accepted need to be quickly moved into the official, legitimate world of work and start earning and paying tax asap. If this process was quick and efficient it would be much more acceptable to reasonable people.

Criminals should be sent back where they came from quickly too.

They're only 'scared' because populist hype has told them to be scared.

They should be more scared about what their own sons are being exposed to online. Andrew Tate. Incel communities. Extreme porn.

Most of the men in the protests are the scariest prospect. How about deporting them?

Netcurtainnelly · 24/08/2025 15:23

Myfamilys · 24/08/2025 06:23

My very real concern is there are thousands of young men arriving daily from countries and cultures where women are not only not respected but not seen not heard not employable and in many cases abused with no consequence. Seeing hundreds of these men in our town centres leering at girls and women as a parent of a girl worries me greatly. So many peoeple in the UK make all the lovely noises that we should welcome all these men everyday and put them up in posh hotels and pay for them but non of these people if you said would you be happy for 10 of them to live in the house next door to you would want them. I wonder why?

Yes, there was a picture of loads of men sitting in a park in Hounslow.
There were loads of them. I guess they were resting and had nowhere to go.
They weren't really do anything but it was an odd sight and intimidating for anyone who had to walk through.

Except the parents in Epping have been complaining that hotel residents have been harassing schoolgirls, asking to add them on Snapchat etc.

It’s not imagined. It’s happening. The girls are telling their parents.

Why is the left so keen to advocate for people’s lived experiences until it’s the lived experience of young girls being harassed by migrant men. Then they start making excuses and calling people racist. It doesn’t wash anymore, you can’t shit people up by calling them racist.

The pattern these things often follow seems to be:

Its not happening, you're lying.

Ok it is happening but its not that bad.

Ok it is happening and its as bad as you said it was but actually its your fault and you deserve it because of colonialism. And you're a racist.

FFS. So, because some men have been influenced by Andrew Tate, we should accept thousands of foreign men without any papers into our Country? What the fuck?

And on top of that you want to send British men overseas?

What on earth did I just read? Some people are insane!

No. The vast majority in the U.K. are proud to live in multi-cultural societies. They are interested in individuals not racial stereotypes. Most people in the IK di not watch GB News and have no interest in this nonsense attempt to brand asylum-seekers as probable sex offenders. They straight through the latest populist rhetoric. Most people cringe at they type of people on the protests and see them as a national embarrassment.

You are so wrong!! Also they are not suspected sex offenders, one of them in my town has just been jailed for 9 years for the rape of a 14 year old girl. People are starting to wake up and they are angry.

Exactly. If in doubt read about what happened to Lara Logan. Not if you're partial to nightmares though.
