For thinking that the migrant protests ...

Should be held at the council offices, Government departments, rather than the migrant hotels? After all, it's due to the government's lack of processing that the migrants are there?

You are really quite out of touch if you think there are a huge numbers of people supporting mass immigration.

No. I read research, not the Daily Mail.

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/08/2025 23:23

You know this how? There are equally an huge number of people who are fully supportive of immigration and know that the UK would collapse without it,

And the UK would not collapse without immigration. The government need to get people back into work. Far too many not working atm, who could work, then it’s solved.

Work9to5 · 23/08/2025 12:59

Of course not. It's much more effective to harass people who have nothing and can't fight back .....

You don’t have a clue. My DH is a police officer.
Most nights the police are called out to one or more of the many, men only, migrant hotels in the town he works in to break up fights, assaults against staff and vandalism. They mostly carry knives. YES they DO! Every shift there is minimum 40% foreign nationals in custody. Usually it’s more. This isn’t new. It’s been going on for years.

Come on, it’s not just the Daily Mail. Are you saying that the majority of polls don’t have immigration in the top three of voter concerns? A quick google can put you right on that one….

It would. Do you have any idea of the number of immigrants working in the NHS?
No. Obviously.

We need a sensible amount of immigration, selective and beneficial to the U.K. not crazy mass immigration like the 1.5 million people who arrived in 2023.

Ignoring your predictably sneery comment to pp, you do know how pre-election polls are notoriously unreliable.. so let’s extrapolate to this subject. Bet your bottom dollar that a silent majority in the uk think (know) that mass immigration is a problem.

That’s not to say that the uber rich getting richer by the day isn’t a problem. The two can and do, co-exist.

So it’s okay to mock a person of colour and their physical appearance if their political beliefs differ from your own? And make disparaging comments about their bodies - that's not racism?

Interesting!

Yes, if a person is a racist then it’s 100% ok to mock their appearance.

Racists do hate people based on appearance, so I’m absolutely sure they can cope with a bit of ribbing about themselves.

“Don’t view women the way we do in the West” - because women are treated so well here.

I wish these protesters would stop hiding being “protect our women” banner - they have done fuck all protesting over the past decades, as violence towards women and girls has gone up and up. They should just admit that they don’t like people who aren’t white.. then their argument then starts to make sense.

Agree, would be interesting to see just how many of them supported the reclaim these streets protests!

We’re not allowed to talk about it. Like we’re not allowed to see the data that is collected on ethnicity and types of crime statistics.

About 1/3 of doctors in the UK are immigrants, but Google and AI assure me that most immigrants are not doctors. So does arithmetic. Many are academics; many are nurses: many seem to drive my taxis. Immigrants are as diversely skilled as any group of people.

So are asylum seekers and refugees (who have been granted asylum). Doctors, writers, scientists and artists are just as likely to be persecuted as anyone else. All the more so when dealing with repressive regimes or where gay sex is a capital crime.

Perhaps you are thinking of people who attempt to claim asylum for economic reasons and are generally rebuffed?

The 2021 Nobel Laureate for Literature Abdulrazak Gurnah and the 2018 Fields Medallist (Mathematics) Caucher Birkar both received asylum in the UK as young people. Their contributions to this country’s culture, academics and national prestige are almost beyond words.

Stereotypes aren’t accurate and don’t help.

Blooming g heck a third of doctors are immigrants but most immigrants aren’t doctors! Shows there are a heck of a lot of immigrants. And economic migrants are rebuffed - how? -they dump there id and come from countries with despotic leaders -claim you are gay or anti your gov and you will get in. How on earth can anyone check any facts.

Also quoting immigration stats from the past is not equivalent to the situation now. All the European countries are making strides to limit numbers.

You misquoted the data, the same way Khan did. You’re comparing people arriving on skilled visa to someone not working on benefits. I’m sure you didn’t mean to be disingenuous. To pre-empt your reply, I think most people agree that skilled immigration where there is a shortage is a good thing.

The most simplistic is YouGov. 45% of UK voters believe that immigration is a problem.

cobrakaieaglefang · 23/08/2025 23:11

not missing the point, just pointing out the hypocrisy. It doesn't mean I don't see their point, just can't see how tying up local police keeping flag wavers at bay is helping 'protect' local women and girls, whilst sat in vans and its still not safe for 'Sophie' to walk down the road at 2am a mile away. If not in these hotels they will simply be moved elsewhere. They are here, they aren't going to be thrown out without being 'processed'.
It requires a bit more work than chanting outside hotels, using votes wisely, lobbying MPs, campaigning for getting laws changed, and importantly calling out other/ our men as well as incomers on their behaviour towards women.
I totally agree the government are floundering over the issue but Rob and Sue outside Seaside Hotel arent going to change that by flag waving.

But they are. With every passing day, Two Tier and useless Badenoch are shitting their pants even more about Reform.

The system is geared up for open borders and mass uncontrolled immigration. The only way to change it is if you make the corrupt leeches believe that a protest vote could see them out of power. And a protest vote starts with an actual protest.

The bar for evidence in asylum cases is very high. Why not read up on it?

You must see that you cannot just claim to be gay, or get letters from your friends. Records of previous prison time, physical evidence (men), doctors’ or counsellors’ evidence, etc. The UK is one of the strictest countries in the world for evidence with only letters from professional admitted

That’s the problem. We don’t know who’s coming here. Men are coming here with no documents, so we could be allowing people in who are murders, rapists, terrorists. We have absolutely no idea. If they’ve nothing to hide, and they’re escaping persecution, then bring their documents with them. Let us check if the country they’re coming from is dangerous. Let us check that they’ve not been convicted of a serious crime, or escaping justice.

No. Because the majority of immigrants using the service are net contributors.
