Should be held at the council offices, Government departments, rather than the migrant hotels? After all, it's due to the government's lack of processing that the migrants are there?

@VaseofViolets given that they majority are coming from countries that we have gone in and caused mayhem (Iraq and Afghanistan two of the highest), my opinion isn't really relevant - we have a moral responsibility to. As well as the basic moral responsibility to help other humans regardless of the colour of their skin or the language they speak.

What you're quoting as 'genuine concerns' aren't genuine concerns at all. It's racism based on ignorance. Just like the abusive men claiming they're doing it to protect 'women and girls'. Its based on prejudice not facts.

Typical ideological posturing. We have a moral responsibility to commit financial and cultural suicide?

Is it working well - your fanciful idea that we can all live together peacefully regardless of culture or language? You’re happy with how things are working out?

We have no moral responsibility to protect the women and girls raped by gangs of men who shouldn’t have been here in the first place, I take it? In your world, those men mattered more. Are you so wedded to the idea of a multicultural utopia that has never - and will never - exist that these victims are just collateral damage? The facts are facts - you can keep parroting the line that it’s prejudice if you like, but they’re facts nonetheless.

How?

All it has done is move people elsewhere

...away from Epping. It worked.

Did it reduce immigration?

Nancywhiskers · 23/08/2025 22:15

TopPocketFind · 23/08/2025 22:04

Net migration fell sharply in 2024, from the unusually high levels seen in 2022 and 2023

How does protesting outside hotels help reducing immigration?

What would you suggest..because voting for it at the ballot box appears not to work.

Didn't it? Overall immigration has reduced under Labour

Charlthg · 23/08/2025 22:16

It wouldn’t bother the government so much, would it, if the protests were outside council offices. After all there’d be nobody there. They all work from home anyway.

This is the only way to actually get the government and press to pay attention.

If you didn’t want protest, perhaps don’t advocate for open borders.

Eh. Don't know who your thinking of, but my MP is not a human rights lawyer.

Not sure how you would even know but Confused

They were referring to Starmer, I was replying.

Proud of Perth today. Around 150 protesting against migrants (several of whom weren’t local). Around 250 with migrants welcome placards.
Perth is a vibrant, diverse city. Thank goodness.

Should concerned people do nothing then and just sit back?

When you can't find a house to rent, or get a doctors appointment in the future because the infastructure isn't there to cope with extra people, maybe you'll.be glad people starting making a noise.

TopPocketFind · 23/08/2025 22:18

Nearly half a million net immigration? Yeah, amazing.

It’s not enough, that’s the point. No point tinkering with the edges and pointing to slight decreases as evidence that Labour take this seriously. They don’t.

Its still very high. And its reduced because of measures put in by tories.

Ihateboris · 23/08/2025 13:43

So where would you house them ? I'm not being goady by the way.

How about all those who say “all are welcome” take a few into their homes? I mean, if people are happy to allow anyone into the country, surely thay would be happy to house them? That way, the people not wanting then in hotels are happy, the migrants are happy and the people happy to have them are happy. Everybody wins.

I find it amusing that they use a St George's flag, a turk that never came to England and lions, an African animal. Oh the irony.

Oh look, what an original comment. Never heard that one before. What a flex.

Still spectacularly missing the point though.

I don't want my taxes spent on illegals.

Asylum seekers are not ‘illegal’ despite what your right wing echo chamber tells you. They are only illegal immigrants if their claim is rejected and they stay in the country. None of these people have had their claims processed.

TopPocketFind · 23/08/2025 22:23

Oh that makes it ok then. Everyone, stop protesting. The confusion has been cleared up. Nothing to see here.

VaseofViolets · 23/08/2025 22:25

@Netcurtainnelly In the MN middle class bubble, yes, do nothing. The compassion that the middle class pride themselves on is reserved for everyone but their fellow countrymen of the working class. They couldn’t care less about those people suffering.

Why did you cut that bit off?

Not sure what you’re going on about. But anyway look at lovely Angela. In her second or third home. Another you couldn’t make it up. Oh. But yes you could. These lefties and their multiple homes.

Angela Rayner shells out £800,000 for her THIRD home

The Housing Secretary's new 'holiday home' in Hove is in addition to the £650,000 house she owns in her constituency and a three-bedroom grace-and-favour flat in Admiralty House.

You said the boats started in 2018. Whats the significance?
