To not remind my husband it's my birthday?

DoneWithThisShizzle · 12/08/2025 23:21

That's it exactly. It's my birthday in approximately 24 hours and I think he has forgotten. Hasn't asked what I want or snuck anything into the house. I've answered the door to the postie for the past two weeks and taken in nothing that he hasn't opened and shown me.

So as not to dripfeed, it's his mum's birthday the day after, it's a big one, so he's been organising a party for that (not that I think it's a good excuse to forget mine).

Do I remind him? Or not?

No. Some people have challenged her. But only you are going over the top in an immature way with all your laughing emojis. And saying just how bored you are but reading all the same.

Do carry on making a fool of yourself though.

This person is the same on all the threads.
Mainly nasty and sarcastic .
Shame no block button .
I also thought she/ he was about 5 or 6 .

Which is basically what you’ve been doing, but most other posters here are making sense.

Let’s hope she is very young. And not a parent.

Know something ? The more you post, the more you’re showing everyone here exactly who you are. Your childishness and mean spiritedness say more about you than they ever will about an OP you’ve done nothing but aim your vitriol at. We see you 👀

I’ve seen your work on other threads so you posting like this here doesn’t surprise me in the least. If MN is such shite and you’re so bored with it all why are you here ?

You shouldn't have to remind him , how can he forget!. His mother's birthday is irrelevant. He sounds a terrible husband.

This. Your life partner forgets your special day? I'd not live with this level of disrespect

He’s got no excuse for forgetting if it’s the day before his mother’s as he must be used to the two being so close together by now.

Hello! I'm so sorry I haven't managed to respond to you until now. I've been having a really wonderful birthday.

If you have been following the thread as closely as you say, I wonder why you waited until it's resolution to say anything? Anyway, thank you for joining. We hear you.

Just to reiterate on my many updates, I was more baffled and bemused, nowhere near frenetic, thinking he might have forgotten but, as he said himself, the most important thing in his life is me. What more could I ask for! No traps were laid, no arguments were imminent, and our marriage continues with love and respect for each other.

This has been an interesting thread with the majority of people showing respect, despite differences of opinion. I wish you could have joined us where we were and contributed more kindly.

I have reported you to Mumsnet as I feel you stepped over the line into disrespect, in your responses to other posters, as well as comments you have made directed at myself and everyone else on this thread. In doing so, you disrespect yourself.

With kindness and respect.

Oh OP I am glad he finally remembered or was reminded!

My husband of 30 years on the other hand forgot Valentines Day, my Birthday, my first ever Mothers Day all in the same year & I stayed absolutely schtum 🤐🤐🤐

Not a peep & Mother’s Day is always after my bday too.

I think I dropped the absolute clanger a few weeks shortly after Mothers Day and we just happened to be going out shopping for clothes for our firstborn that day & boy did he suck it up that day! When I say he just smiled all throughout that shopping trip and told me to just go ahead and buy myself whatever I wanted was the best day. Oh how we laughed when we got home & years after. I remember when I told the kids they were shocked that their lovely Dad could have forgotten but loved the payback more! Even he will say now I have never ever forgotten any special day since. It was a very very expensive mistake. 😉

Crikey. This is an exhausting thread!

Roomforapony · 15/08/2025 00:06

OP I also reported that poster who is blatantly disrailing your thread.
Glad you had a lovely birthday.
