That's it exactly. It's my birthday in approximately 24 hours and I think he has forgotten. Hasn't asked what I want or snuck anything into the house. I've answered the door to the postie for the past two weeks and taken in nothing that he hasn't opened and shown me.

So as not to dripfeed, it's his mum's birthday the day after, it's a big one, so he's been organising a party for that (not that I think it's a good excuse to forget mine).

Do I remind him? Or not?

I hate this crap on mumsnet about when you're an adult no one should celebrate their birthday or expect ANY of their loved ones to give a shit. Or the idea that if you dont remind someone you're setting a trap! Would you ever forget any of your children's birthdays? No? Then you don't forget your partner's. It doesn't matter how or what you do to show you remember and therefore care, you just do it. Because you care. And it matters. It's just a really simple way of showing that that particular person is special to you so you commemorate the day they were born. One day! Is it really REALLY that much to ask for a man to remember his wife's birthday, without being reminded, and do something nice for it? Why is our bar set so low?

It's just after midnight so Happy Birthday @DoneWithThisShizzle 💐🎂🍾. Personally I think it's easy to tell the difference between someone who has forgotten a birthday because they are busy and someone who doesn't care. Your DH has been busy but actually has still been capable of getting it sorted in time.

Hopefully he has done something sensible like add your birthday to your contact info on his phone and this will help him remember in time so you need never go through this uncertainty again!

Your birthday has been the day before his mum's birthday since you got married. I'd say it's hard to forget since he's organising his mum's birthday. Just wait until the morning and if nothing happens just breezely say, shall we go at this restaurant for dinner for my birthday tonight?
