To think Corbyn despises Britain?

JamesMacGill · 06/08/2025 23:19

When I was a bit more ‘sixth form politics’ I used to really like Jeremy Corbyn, thought he was a genuine alternative to fatcats, warmongers and austerity enthusiasts.

Now I’ve grown up a little but still follow him on social media. I’ve become increasingly concerned about his almost obsessive coverage of Gaza, to the exclusion of almost everything else that affects Britain. He posts repeatedly commemorating virtually every event where he perceives Britain to have been an oppressor, while rarely acknowledging the reverse.

Today it’s Hiroshima, and while I don’t think anyone is going to delight in the deaths of civilians regardless of whether they were an ally or not, it just feels at this stage that he actively dislikes Britain and exclusively sympathises with anyone who was/is against us. As usual he is very clear in naming America as the nuke dropping aggressor, yet on 7/7 his post only referenced ‘bombings’ and how ‘all faiths came together’. No mention of the aggressors there, or even that it was an act of terrorism.

I think he has gone far beyond simply viewing things through a global, objective lens and the thought of him becoming PM (unlikely but you never know) brings me out in a cold sweat.

Yes been ripped apart on another thread by, in your opinion, Labour supporting posters.

She is a disgrace and should be sacked.

It’s a welcome change that we agree.

Let’s not make a habit of it? 😀

Corbyn is 76. Way over retirement age. For him to be PM would be utterly ridiculous. We need to have age limits for PM/Cabinet, otherwise we could become like America, with a senile old man in charge. Ludicrous.

And that's to say nothing about his idiotic politics.

It’s unlikely he’ll be PM but he could take 10 / 15% of votes

He would need funding, organisation and people to put up candidates in all of England's constituencies.

That wont happen, i'm sorry to have rained on your parade.

The LDs and the Greens will be Labours biggest problem with splitting of the left of centre vote.

Just as Reform has split the right wing vote but if you re right, Corbyn will get more votes than the Tories at the next GE !!!

It’s not ‘my parade’ if you read up beyond mn. Plenty of analysis for you to look at.

Feel free to let them know you disapprove as per.

I would love to know what negotiations Corbyn would’ve used to end WW2. Total capitulation to the axis forces perhaps?

I believe you were sixth form politics but don't believe you were left wing. Apparently over 600k have expressed interest in his new party and it's a refreshing antidote to the right wing monotony.

Checklist:

Magic Grandpa
Jezbollah
Terrorist
Old
Sixth form politics
Antisemite
Open borders
Far left

Let me know if I've missed one.💤

600k are desperate to call his party Party McPartyface.

No, i'm quite happy to show that your glee at Corbyns new party, is somewhat misplaced.

He simply hasn't the funding to go nationwide.

I think the @newposteronthewallhas it with these types of posts.

There is now room for a further left party and good luck to them.

It isn't just Corbyn. Most left-wing people hate Britain. They especially hate England. And they've taught us to hate it as well. I often wonder who they think would go and fight if Britain was ever attacked, because I certainly wouldn't.

The left also opposed Hitler and many went to fight against the Fascists in Spain.

The right wing have been in power for most the post war period & the last 14 years shows what they think of the UK, they have wrecked the country, nothing works anymore... We can all see this.

Meanwhile they have enriched themselves beyond belief.

Seems to me the 'left hate what the UK has become, the 'right are happy to continue the asset strip.

I think they think nobody would attack Britain if they were in charge, because they’re extremely naive

Why would anyone attack Britain anyway? What on earth would any other country gain from doing so?

Well that's load of bollocks. I can't remember seeing loads of threads from Labour/Lib Dem/Green supporting posters threatening to leave the UK when the Conservatives were in power for 14 years.

Labour have been in power for 12 months and there is pretty much a weekly thread from right-wing high earners threatening to leaving the UK because they they resent the amount of tax they pay. They are particularly incensed about the changes to non-dom status and inheritance tax.

I agree. We all saw how Conservatives reacted to a crisis like the Covid 19 pandemic. They used the VIP lane to enrich themselves and their wealthy cronies by giving them million pound contracts for absolutely useless unusable PPE which cost lives and money. They should be in jail. Hopefully some of them will be once the outcomes and recommendations of the official Covid 19 enquiry are released.

Ask him. But it would be entirely pointless because that was then and this is now.

I'm not left wing. I'm not especially anything really. It's fine to dislike someone's politics. I dislike plenty myself. But base your dislike on something tangible rather than basing it on your own assumptions.

Just as pointless as condemning something which is so long ago everyone involved is dead?

There is nothing wrong with being a pacifist. Jeremy Corbyn has always been on the right side of history.

Why wouldn't you?

If Russia invade, say Poland and then Finland, would you be willing to step up and help defend these countries or would you be happy under another country's rule.

It is easy to be a pacifist when your country isn't at risk of invasion or extreme terrorism.

Hmmm.. even with his support for the IRA whilst they were bombing us during the Troubles?
