To be appalled at Catherine Zeta-Jones' face?

We've been waiting to watch season two of Wednesday and when we saw it today we were all really shocked at the state of CZJ's face. My children struggled to recognise her!
She's obviously had a facelift between S1 and S2, but it was really badly done. Her lips are all stretched out and her eyes are pulled up to her hairline. She looks like she is heading into Jocelyn Wildenstein territory.
It's really sad, because she was always such a pretty woman and it was good to see an older woman (not 20-something) looking amazing in a TV show.

In hyperbolic rude terms - appalling and unrecognisable? Is that normal? I hope not.

All those people who've given you a hard time will have been judgemental about people in the past even if they've never voiced or written it.

She probably “felt the need” to have a facelift as she’s sick of women like you always commenting on how she looks.

I agree it's sad, OP. Especially given she was such a beautiful woman. Such a shame she's felt the need to go to such extremes.

When women are shamed out of questioning cosmetic surgery on the basis that it’s “mean” we’re fucked.

Well, as the OP is making such vicious comments about Catherine, she should post a pic of herself up, so we can see how 'stunning' she is. After all, she must be a raving beauty right?

Why does a woman having cosmetic surgery bother you so much? Surely we’re at the point where women can look how they want. Doesn’t mean she’s insecure, maybe she just likes the look?

I do think people forget just how gorgeous she was back then. I admire her enormously - great career, seems to be a very long-standing happy marriage (well done them!). No nasty gossip. I agree with OP - not knowing much about it - but shame that she felt the need to have work done. But perhaps we are slightly biased as she is a UK-lass (yes Welsh) who has done so well in Hollywood.

If you are talking about the picture on the left above, I agree. She looks dreadful. Weird tight skin and the cat features that are so common in these women.

I don’t think it’s mean to comment on women who’ve spent thousands of pounds ruining their natural beauty at all. It’s mean when people bitch about Kelly Mcgillis and similar women who have aged naturally.

CzJ like Courtney Cox has made the choice to ruin her natural good looks, both would have looked lovely if they had left themselves alone. The same as Liv Tyler who was stunningly beautiful and now at only mid forties looks like she’s made of rubber.

These women are choosing to destroy their faces so I really don’t understand why people are being so mean to the OP and so disingenuous as to suggest she looks in any way normal.

I saw her on something last week and thought she had aged a lot I hadn’t seen her on anything for ages). I understand she is older now and that we all age, but she looked in her late 60s.
Maybe it was bad surgery?

Two things…the fact that you said she used to be pretty is part of the problem, she’s expected to remain pretty/as she was before. That’s basically impossible.
Secondly, who knows, maybe she doesn’t like your face.

I agree with you OP, she’s clearly had a lot of work done and I think she looks odd.

It’s not about individuals like CZJ or the OP. It’s about our society being so fucked up that we cut into women’s faces to make sure they mustn’t look their age.
