To be appalled at Catherine Zeta-Jones' face?

We've been waiting to watch season two of Wednesday and when we saw it today we were all really shocked at the state of CZJ's face. My children struggled to recognise her!
She's obviously had a facelift between S1 and S2, but it was really badly done. Her lips are all stretched out and her eyes are pulled up to her hairline. She looks like she is heading into Jocelyn Wildenstein territory.
It's really sad, because she was always such a pretty woman and it was good to see an older woman (not 20-something) looking amazing in a TV show.

The person above had it right- beautiful women look beautiful when older too, they just look different. Honor Blackman still looked lovely at 80 odd. Wrinkly and lovely.
CZJ had a beautiful face and would still look gorgeous without work - just not young.

She's a patron of Langland lifeguard club (near one of her homes). I've a lot of respect for her. My livelihood doesn't depend on how I look, so I shan't judge.

I said she looks good and IMO she does whether she has had work done or not.
I have never had any heavy and terrible work done to myself, I have had my eyebrows microbladed if that counts.

I think we're still in the times were women can't bloody win whatever you do so f it.

I have watched some episodes last night and I retract my statement. She looks fine. The stills on Google are absolutely awful. I presume that is why they were chosen. But on-screen she looked normal

If these celebs grow older without any kind of intervention or tweakments or whatever they are also slated, so it’s a tough one for them , but it is her choice too.
Can’t be easy being in the public eye though and all the criticism and so on.

She was also funereal in the first series, her entire face is noticeably different in this one.

Look at some of the flak Pamela Anderson is getting - she's clearly had cosmetic work and is quite literally glowing but because she's not wearing makeup people can't stand it.

That people are so ready to examine and criticise her looks the way you are doing here is the sad thing and almost certainly why women in her position feel the need to have that sort of surgery

Every time I see someone who is obviously quite wealthy and can therefore afford the best surgeons and they still look really obviously like they've had work done it compounds my opinion that cosmetic surgery is definitely not worth it and it's better to age gracefully.

Quite. Surgeons have to slice through muscles, and avoid damaging nerves and blood vessels. Complications aren't that uncommon, and they can be life-changing.

I'm reading this thread and I keep coming back to society has a narrow view of what is beautiful. Generally, thin and young, and then we get things being sold to us to try and preserve/obtain it.

I like the word uncouth. It's quite apt at times 😅😆
