To be appalled at Catherine Zeta-Jones' face?

We've been waiting to watch season two of Wednesday and when we saw it today we were all really shocked at the state of CZJ's face. My children struggled to recognise her!
She's obviously had a facelift between S1 and S2, but it was really badly done. Her lips are all stretched out and her eyes are pulled up to her hairline. She looks like she is heading into Jocelyn Wildenstein territory.
It's really sad, because she was always such a pretty woman and it was good to see an older woman (not 20-something) looking amazing in a TV show.

The pressure to remain youthful-looking in an industry where your face is literally your fortune is brutal, particularly for women. Let's cut her some slack. Having seen the interviews for season two with her, she's still a remarkably good-looking lady even if she hasn't chosen to age completely naturally

You're right. I did miss the mark, and it came across badly. What I meant from this is that it's really sad that she's felt she needed to have a facelift, because she's a beautiful woman, and it's sad to see that she can't just be herself. It was shocking to see how different her face looks.

Could it be perhaps, that she 'feels the need' because there are swathes of twats out there who feel perfectly entitled to talk about her face in really derogatory terms?

I haven’t seen her and don’t watch it but I hate this sort of look and agree with you OP, that women are obviously under such pressure to do this. It’s become normal. Such a shame

I just googled her. She looks pretty good to me. I do get triggered by these alien faces but she doesn't look such. She looks ' normal ', ' human' still fortunately.

If you have been incredibly beautiful in that industry and then you age it's going to be pretty difficult to remain of the mindset that it doesn't matter. She's living in a different world.

She is being herself, she likes cosmetic procedures, she isn’t less of a person or a woman because of it. The title of your thread is awful and just demonstrates nobody is perfect, starting a thread about how another women’s face has appalled you says a hell of a lot more about you than her. Except you get to slag her off anonymously.

Woman puts herself out there in the public eye, craving attention. If she shifts her face around significantly, people will notice and say something. I've seen some shocking work done on faces and lips, Botox, lifts etc, not just on slebs. If they make themselves look like clowns people are going to comment, whoever they are.

I saw an interview and couldn’t recognise her, but I was unsure if it was on purpose for the character.
