To be appalled at Catherine Zeta-Jones' face?

We've been waiting to watch season two of Wednesday and when we saw it today we were all really shocked at the state of CZJ's face. My children struggled to recognise her!
She's obviously had a facelift between S1 and S2, but it was really badly done. Her lips are all stretched out and her eyes are pulled up to her hairline. She looks like she is heading into Jocelyn Wildenstein territory.
It's really sad, because she was always such a pretty woman and it was good to see an older woman (not 20-something) looking amazing in a TV show.

She looks good - well if good is to look 30 when you’re 55 - everyone must look 20 years younger than their age? No one can get wrinkles or saggy bits as that wouldn’t look ‘good’ is that what all of you who are criticising the op think?

I think it’s boring and it’s also a bit weird when watching American films etc - everyone looks like a stretch faced 25 year old -often they (the men mainly) are playing the part of a much younger man, why not cast an actor who actually looks and is the age of the part.

Saw her on The One Show last week and didn't recognise her - weirdly she looked like Victoria Beckham. Maybe they have the same surgeon. She was one of the best looking women I have ever seen and would undoubtedly continued to be so as an older woman. Christy Turlington has aged with confidence so it can be done - although she isn't an actress.

CZJ is still stunning and a good Morticia.
Angelica Huston was best Morticia and the guy who played her husband was best Gomez, I’ll have to check his name but he was handsome, suave, charming and was all over Morticia! Set the floor ablaze (literally) with their tango 😂
The casting in Wednesday is very good apart from Gomez who for me isn’t handsome or charming enough, very odd casting.
Very pleased at the casting of Joanna Lumley as Grandma-ma! She looks absolutely fabulous!

Cosmetic surgery can look pretty good if done well. I think she looks good. There are pictures out there where she looks a bit….plastic looking. But tbh, the media do try to get awful angles on the celebs, and then delight in publishing them. I saw an awful picture of Jen Aniston recently, but the majority of the time she looks great.

Yes and no. I would rather the actor or actress who was best for the role got it. I don't mind a bit of fudging with age. Think of Twilight- Bella's chemistry with Peter Facinelli's Carlisle was smoking, much more intense than with the handsome ten years younger Robert Pattinson. Since they're all fucking undead vampires and hundreds of years old, I wish they'd cast Pete as her romantic lead.

It's a bit rich for people giving the OP flack about not letting a celeb get older, when she was complaining that celebs seem to need to go for major surgery to attempt - often with very mixed results - to look younger.

CZJ is not anything like the worst example mind you. Does anyone really think it is a good thing that someone like Nicole Kidman, who has all the characteristics that would make her beautiful at any age, has made herself look like a weird doll and can't move her face normally? Not only are cosmetic surgeries a health risk, we should be able to accept that older women are still attractive, just older.

It's got to be some kind of projection to claim that those who think this is problematic are being critical of women not looking young!

I saw an interview with CZJ on an American chat show, and I didn't notice anything. Didn't get the 'uncanny valley' feeling. They've cast her perfectly as Morticia. Can't wait to watch it!

I saw her tonight on an Instagram reel on the One show and to be honest she looked like she was aging gracefully , it didn't look like she had anything done. The comments on it were cruel saying she looked much older than her age

Well, like many famous actresses, CZJ has had some tweaks/a bit of filler, but she still looks like HER, and she still looks nice. It's utterly pathetic for someone to say they are 'appalled' at what her face looks like. Just such a nasty thing to say.

Ive just watched the second season of Wednesday with my dd.

I thought CZJ looked good. I enjoy her portrayal as Morticia (goes without saying that Angelica and Raul will always be the S tier Addams)

I'm not really a fan of the Hollywood look, but it's just an occupational hazard/requirement for celebrities.

From insulting and shaming posters, to making comments forcing the conversation to talk about other things.

The fact is CZJ has chosen to engage in cosemtics procedures for reasons known only to herself. These cosemetic procedures/surgeries have altered her appearance to the point where it is noticeable and is affecting the way her face move.

The very normal reaction of seeing someone who is familliar altered to the point where they sadly look very similar to other women of resources is completely fine. She chose to have the procedures, and people will notice.

Yes the industry is shit where they bias very attractive and talented women like CZJ undergo extreme makeovers to fit a mould and men as well ( I hear there is alot of "supplements" on the menu for the Marvel actors).

I hope I look as terrible as that when I am 55! 🤞
