To be appalled at Catherine Zeta-Jones' face?

We've been waiting to watch season two of Wednesday and when we saw it today we were all really shocked at the state of CZJ's face. My children struggled to recognise her!
She's obviously had a facelift between S1 and S2, but it was really badly done. Her lips are all stretched out and her eyes are pulled up to her hairline. She looks like she is heading into Jocelyn Wildenstein territory.
It's really sad, because she was always such a pretty woman and it was good to see an older woman (not 20-something) looking amazing in a TV show.

Ahhh... the classic denial about surgery because it was all day procedures and she was never put under anesthetic.

I hope Management 360 are paying alot for the overtime.

The feedback for your bosses is the following

CZJ has had several noticeable interventions on her face in which it has changed her face so much that all that is being discussed. The general population of women are fed-up about being patronised by the male dominated entertainment industry about what makes an attractive middle-aged older women.

Examples of female perfomers that have managed to stay attractive to audiences but no extreme and obvious interventions allowing the audience to still engage are; Joanna Lumely, Angela Basset, Jodie Foster, Carrie Fisher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rosario Dawson, Halle Berry and I am sure there are others..

CZJ isn't against plastic surgery she said she would get it done if she felt she needed it. Her husband has had a facelift, necklift and eye lift. An article said he looked 20 years younger at 79 I think they are pushing it with that compliment. His looks and acting has never been questioned. Why are women so heavily judged on their looks and acting credibility as they get older where as men can get away with it.

But she has gone so overboard thats all people can see. Humans are very sensitive to human faces.

This isn't about morals its about people missing the mark. The same has happened to Jennifer Lawrence. The surgery changed her face and its hard to watch her. Its a symptom of an industry that doesn't understand women as whole humans, just as "pretty faces"

What about men's faces. It's bitchy to only call out how women look.

Fucking hell...

People say the same about mens faces.... Ryan Renoylds, Hugh Jackman, Pete Burns.... admittedly they say more about the bodies.

I am assuming you are male at this point as well...

2021x · 07/08/2025 01:54

No, I won't. Your words are uncouth. Says it all really. Maybe you are projecting how you feel about yourself onto CZJ's face and onto others. By the way, I am not a fan of procedures etc. Enjoy life and stop putting negative energy out there about other people's faces.

JackGrealishsBobbySocks · 07/08/2025 02:02

Accusing someone of misogyny and calling them bitchy in one breath? Lol.

A lot of men have made grotesqueries of their faces with the plastic. The usual examples being Michael Jackson, Mickey rourke, Zac Efron, David Gest, Simon Cowell, that Deadpool twat....

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/08/2025 02:04

Late to the thread but just watched Wednesday and she looks bloody amazing. Face and figure. And as for Joanna Lumley - wow.

Night sir... only a man/teenager (or a misgoynist) could think anything that I have written is desperate.

Exasperated.... but not desperate.

Are sure about that you don't seem to like putting down the male species. The male names you came up was a joke only Pete Burns I could have come up with better. You call me a man 🤣.

My dad loves knocking down women you would get on with him.

Yes, when they objectively reduce the attractivenss of a very attractive person, but making them look less human like.

When a woman is in a public role I guess she believes she has two choices - allow her youth and beauty to diminish naturally and be mocked for doing so or have some cosmetic surgery- and be mocked for doing so!

i love Pam Anderson for showing us that the mature face has its own beauty. I love seeing my friends get older (not in a gleeful way but because I think they seem beautiful).

one of the joys of following actors is watching them graduate from sex kitten to maturity, matriarchs and crones (in the best sense of the word. Germaine Greer tried to re-appropriate the word but it didn’t take off).

Juststop2025 · 07/08/2025 02:56

You're right, she looks awful and very very weird. People pretending not to notice have probably had some heavy and terrible work done themselves 😂

Firstholiday · 07/08/2025 02:57

I thought Hollywood was going mad when they said Emma Stone and Anne Hathaway had had recent face-lifts! I do think everyone is at it, the difference is the standard of work. Blake Lively, Brad Pitt and Lyndsay Lohan look amazing, all have had great doctors. I think CZJ has just had one too many ops. I remember reading she is much older than publicised so its probably difficult to keep doing facelifts at that age without the taut skin look.

I’m not the one who called me Jesus.

Check your notes. And do better.

Perhaps you were raised in an uncouth manner.

The women in my family use the word when necessary - and always pointedly.

Keep talking so everyone can see just how very uncouth you are. Or do the prudent thing, of which I do not think you are capable.
Because you are uncouth.

She's 55. She is 56 in September. Ancestry says so.
